~4 Years Later~
I awoke early that morning and sat up, breathing hard. The same dream...the same nightmare...Rubbing my eyes and threw back the covers, standing up now. The old floor creaked loudly as I walked over to the closet to grab my clothes. Pulling on my shirt, which ended above my belly button, and my brown skinny jeans I looked in the mirror. My reflection stared back, a once fragile scared girl now stood as a young women with a firm stance, my pure brown eyes almost circles. I brushed my blond hair into a side braid, leaving my bangs down. My nose and cheeks were lined with freckles, making me look innocent as Jacob put it. A small cut lined my nose and I placed a band aid on it, sighing. Shaking my head I turned and walked out of the room, grabbed my jacket before closing the door, and walking into Jacobs room. He had been forced into his own 6 months ago, taking down 9 men before he stopped. Jacob looked up, bare chest and his pants un zipped, his hair all ruffled making it look cute. "Hey there" He smiled over at my and I waved. "Tired? Ready for the big day?" I rolled my eyes before landing on his unmade be, throwing his shirt at him. "Haha, yeah I know. Me too. It's going to suck..." He pulled on his shirt and sighed, running a hand through his hair to fix it. A knock hit the door and a guard opened it. "It's time to go." Scoffing Jacob laughed and pulled on his own recruit jacket, then pulling me up and following him. "Jacob spot 15, Kiali spot 3." We looked at each other once before he growled, and walked off madly. I gave a small smile, he hated leaving my side...he had fought hard before they moved him out of my room into his own. Jack stood up, his appearance giving me the same shivers as the day we had met.
"ALRIGHT LADY BUGS, THIS IS IT! TODAY YOU FIND OUT WHO THE BEST IS AND WHO IS MOVING ONWARD. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T PASS, YOU SUCK!" Laugher rang out and I smiled to myself, he was so kind. "NOW, HERE THEY ARE. THE TOP ON YOUR CLASS. FIRST UP IN 5TH PLACE, JACKIE HAYDS!" A tall boy with neck length blond hair walked up, a smirk lining his ugly face. Jackie had horrible grey eyes with freckles covering every inch of this face. Reaching the front he placed a hand over his heart and lifted his head. "4TH PLACE, LISA GREG!" No surprise there, I thought, as a beautiful girl stepped up, taking her place next to him. Her long black hair was wavy and her built firm, she stood almost as tall of Jackie. "3RD, JASON WEST!" A slim boy walked up next to the others, and now they were all evenly matched in height. He was built and a quick thinker, he was bound to be up there. "2ND, JACOB DAREKS!" I smiled brightly as he stepped forward, his brown hair blowing in the wind and standing shorter then the rest, hand over heart. "AND IN 1ST, BEATING ALL OF YOU," I looked around, wondering who it would be that was better then Jacob. "KIALI SUMMERS!" I blinked, looking as everyone stared at me. "KIALI GET UP HERE!" He called, looking at me a small smile forming. My legs moved on their own and slowly I made my way up to the front, standing along side the best. Jacob looked down at me, smiling brightly, but the others looked less then pleased. Jackie scoffed and rolled his eyes, looking back at Jack. "LOOK AHEAD AND SEE THOSE WHO HAVE SURPASSED YOU ON LEVELS YOU COULDN'T SEE." Jacks voice echoed through the grounds, crashing on my ear drums. "NOW THE FIVE UP HERE HAVE THE CHOICE TO JOIN THE REGIMENT OF THEIR CHOICE! GARRISON, SURVEY CORPS, AND MILITARY! THE REST OF YOU WILL BE HEADING TO THE FIELDS, NOW GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!" He gave a salute and turned to walk off, the rest of us returned the action and smiled, breaking form. Jacob turned and hugged me tight, laughing. "You did it! The best!" I smiled back, nodding but stopped quickly as the others joined us, arms folded. "How did you get first? What did you do, bribe him?" Jacob scoffed, "Bribe? The only thing she did was become better than you and you don't like that." He took my hand and walked off, leaving Jackie to look shocked.
