Playing with hearts

Moving countries was harder than I thought. My names Jolene but I prefer to be called Jo. Well at least that's what everyone calls me back in America. Moving to the UK is a weird transition. New school. New friends. New weather. It was going to be hard especially since the trouble maker and I acquainted. One thing for sure, it's going to be an emotional roller coaster; and not the fun kind.

1. A new beginning

Jo's P.O.V

I've always wanted to go to the UK for a vacation, just to explore the world. However, I've never thought about permanently moving there. It all sounds so bizarre because I'm moving from my hometown, where I grew up, leaving everything behind. So I 'm not too excited for the transition.

We had just arrived at Devon on Sunday and today was Monday making it my first day at my school. To be honest I don't understand why my parents are making me go because we just reached here yesterday. Jet lag is not helping my case and not to mention the time difference. I'm going to look like a right monster on my first day. So much for first impressions.

It was quite a decent day for Devon as the sun was peaking out in the morning. I woke up in the most spectacular way possible. By that meaning, falling off the bed, crashing towards the ground. Just what I need in the morning. Sarcasm is just part of my charm. Peering at my appearance, my long light brown hair has formed into some-what of a birds nest. I showered, brushed and wore a t-shirt showcasing 'Nirvana' and a plaid shirt on top with skinny jeans. Nothing too special.

After having breakfast with my twin brother, Tom, we headed to the High School's office to get our schedules. As soon as we arrived, we were introduced by a crowd of students walking in different directions.

We saw a group of 6 boys sparing us with confused glances. They headed towards us at this point. With Tom being overprotective, he stood in front of me.

The whole school kept staring at them but the boys acted as if they didn't notice.

"Hello Mate you having any trouble? You seem new." A tall, slender boy with dark brown hair and brown eyes asked.
"Yes, I actually wanted to know where the head office is. And my names Tom and this is my twin sis Jo." Tom replied.

"Sure mate. I'm James by the way and this is Reece, Jake, Charlie, Chris, Casey." He pointed towards each boy. I gave them a small smile in appreciation. We headed towards the office with James, the others left to go to their lockers. "There's 7 of us the other one that was missing was Barclay, he's quite the player. Anyways, here's the office"

We said thanks in unison and soon came out, schedules in hand. He showed us our locker which was in the same hall as his and his mates. I was kind of curious about this Barclay. All the boys seemed nice. Today is going to be interesting.

Soon enough lunch came and the boys, we met earlier, called Tom and I towards their table. When we made our way towards the table, there was a new boy assuming it was Barclay, in a full blown make out session. What a pleasant first impression. I just made a disgusted face rolling my eyes which the boys chuckled at.

"How you liking the school so far?" Reece questioned. At least I'm sure that's his name.

"It's alright I guess. A lot different to America but I'm still trying to get use to it." I declared and Tom just nodded to second that. They break from their session and I noticed the one eyebrow he sent towards the boys.

"That's Tom and Jo. And this is Barclay guys." Jake informed us. He sent a nod towards Tom and sent a flirtatious smile to me. I simply just rolled my eyes and ate my food.
