“I can see that you are afraid M-” Again I was interrupted by his shouting voice “I'm not afraid!” His pride was weak, I could easily tell. I could also tell that conversations were a waste of time, he didn't want to admit anything no matter how busted he really was. “Al right then, I'll show you instead” As my words came out, his face went even paler, like this was his biggest nightmare, his boggart. I opened the dark arts book and found a curse I thought would be easy, and handed it over to him. He lowered his wand, grabbed the book and started reading. I stood back on my feet watching him for a little while before I decided to speak again “Look, I don't know what you are up to, and I won't tell anyone – you can take the unbreakable wow if that's necessary – but, if you need help, notify me.” Malfoy looked up at me and he was a bit calmer. “I don't need your help” His voice was stubborn.
“I'm not necessarily talking about whatever your task is” I didn't want to get into trouble, it was trouble enough that I handed the book back after the incident with Katie Bell. “I don't need your help!” his voice screamed again, he was freaking out. I couldn't leave him like this, but I couldn't make him calmer either. I decided to sit down with him, just be there, he haven't told me to leave yet. I sat down next to him, watched him, not saying anything really. He was uncomfortable with that to begin with and began to read instead. As he read I could see he did not like this curse at all, he was no assassin after all. Malfoy looked at me again and sort of asked “You are no Slytherin" I shake my head and replied “Ravenclaw” He seemed thoughtful at my reply, like it reminded him of something or someone. “Why are you helping me?” Draco was again a bit calmer, still very unsure of what to think. “I haven't helped you, in any way. The only thing that I've done is handing you that book open on a random page” I understood that he wanted to do this alone, and to gain his trust I had to make him believe he did it alone.
He looked confused at me, so I continued “Do want to talk about it?” Draco's face looked terribly troubled and his voice were as his face “There's nothing to talk about” I nodded, I knew there was something to talk about, Katie Bell for example. He stood up and closed the book. I just watched him. He hid the book back between the chair wood and the chair cushion, he then again turned to me his face was filled with a forced pride, pointed his wand at me as he said “Not a word about this, Weather.” I again nodded, and watched him leave the room. When he had left I put a smile on my face, what the heck just happened. I was actually pleased with this happening. I had come closer to Draco and from my point of view, this could only get better. Which meant that maybe one day, I would have all the answers I needed.
I stood up, took a last glance at the room before leaving. As I walked through the castle I met Potter, heading the direction of our headmaster again. What was he up to? I felt like Malfoy had his thing he had to get done that was big, and Potter that was up to something probably with our headmaster, they seem close after all, and no one on this school noticed. Maybe a war was upon us soon? No one noticed, and it really bothered me. I've reached the knocker and looked forward to my riddle. “I am greater than God, more evil than the devil. The poor have me, the rich don't, and if you eat me, you'll die” The knocker seemed pleased with yet an another clever riddle. “What the heck? How am I supposed to answer that? Is it a sin?" A familiar voice spoke and I turned to see it was Evan. “It's obvious” I said plainly. “How? This was a hard one! What is it?” He looked at me with confusion. “Nothing” I replied to him and turned to the knocker. “The answer is nothing.” Evan mind was blown, not hard to see. “You never fail me, miss Weather.” The knocker replied and opened the door for the both of us, both Evan and I stepped inside the common room and walked up to Thomas. “Ready for chess?” Thomas said with a smile on his face, holding a chessboard. Evan replied fast “Of course!” and gave a smile back. They and their chess, I found it really hard and a bit boring.
