Dad of course sent me to school today. I mean, I don't mind going, but it's been a day since Luke and I found out about this 'gift' we have, I need sometime to adjust. Dad said we feel each others pain, does that mean, if I get hit in the face with a ball, he feels it too?
"Vi! Where where you yesterday!" My friend Alyssa asked. "I stayed home. I wasn't feeling well." I replied. "Well you missed it! Lilly Smith, started like screaming for no reason. I was laughing so much!" She said. "You should've helped here Ally." I replied. "But after like five minutes, she stopped. And she went back to normal." She replied. Wait, didn't that happen to me yesterday? "Do you know where Luke is?" I asked. She shook her head, "no. I haven't seen him all day." Alyssa replied.
All day, all I kept hearing about was the Lilly thing. It was getting on my nerves. In math, science, history, chemistry, that's all I heard. And it was getting on my nerves. "Guys! Shut up!" I yelled to my class. "Violet. They are having their own conversations. You shouldn't be ease dropping." Ms. Sawyer said. "Well they shouldn't be talking about Lilly behind her back. It's not her fault that happened." I said. "Ms. Smith obviously has some problems-" "no she doesn't. Lilly is perfectly fine. So what, she started to scream in the middle of class. That makes her different and have problems?" I asked. "Ms. Carson you are making this into a bigger problem then it already is." Ms. Sawyer replied.
There was a voice that came into my head. "Just stop, don't sell yourself out." It said. "Lilly is my friend. And she couldn't help it." I replied. "Be careful. Don't make it obvious you have that gift too." It replied. And then, the voice left.
"Dad!" I yelled as I got home. My dad came running out. "There's someone else dad." I said. "What?" He asked. "There is. Someone else. Who. Has. The. Gift." I said. "I don't understand. There's only two people." He said slowly. "Lilly started to scream yesterday, and then it stopped. And today she wasn't at school." I replied. He sighed. "Go to your room." He said sternly. "Dad! I did-" "Violet!" He yelled.
I went on my computer, and searched up this 'gift'. It said it shows from ages fifteen to eighteen. That makes sense. Woah! It says, "there are only two original people who have it. There may be a third. In each person who has this, you feel each others pain. The third person, won't know you feel each others pain. He/she will only see you as a normal person. But as the time goes on, the third person, will become your worst enemy. They will fight you, hurt you, and torture you, until they see that you feel the pain, and so does the second person." I read aloud.
I ran over to Luke's house, and saw cars in his driveway. "Mrs. Hemmings!" I yelled, banging on the door. "Violet, what's wrong? Are you okay?" She asked. "I-is Luke home?" I asked. "Yea, he's upstairs with his friends." She said. I barged into the door, and ran up stairs.
"Violet! Luke yelled. "We need to talk. Now." I said. "So this is Violet." A boy with red hair said. I looked at him. Why is he staring at me? "Yes. This is Violet. Who is going to leave." Luke replied. "No I'm not." I replied. "This is important." I said. He sighed. "Not now vi." He said. "No. Now." I said. "What is so important that you can't say in front of all of us?" He asked. "You know what. I was going to tell you something about, you know. Something that is really important. But you don't care." I replied.
"Violet." He said. "Don't. I honestly thought you would care about your future. But you obviously don't." I replied. "Tell me." He said. I sighed. I unfolded the paper, and I read it to him. "So Lilly is some kind of enemy?" He asked. "Yes!" I yelled. "She will become our worst enemy. And she will hurt us, torture us, in any way, to show who we really are." I replied. "So we stay away from her?" He asked. I nodded. "And if you feel threatened by her, just walk away, and find me." I replied. He nodded.
"Have you seen Luke?" I asked Alyssa. "He was just here but-" "never mind." I said running. "Leo! Where's Luke?" I asked. "He went out to the back with his friends." He replied. I nodded and ran back.
When I got there, I saw Luke lying on the ground. "Luke!" I yelled. He was hurt. "No Vi. Go." He said. "Luke your hurt. I can't leave you." I replied. "Yes you can. I'm fine." He replied getting up. "Why didn't I feel anything?" I asked. "I only tripped." He said.
