"Hey, how are you?" Luke asked. "Um, in pain. I still feel numb." I replied. He nodded, and sat down on the bed. My shirt was off, so I could keep the wound patched up.
"My mum is about to come in here and change your patch. And clean out your cut." He said. I nodded, and sat up a bit. I winced in pain. "If you don't move, it won't hurt." He said. I rolled my eyes.
"Alright, out, out, I need to take care of her." Mrs. Hemmings said. Luke kissed my head, and left the room. She pulled the blankets off of me, and looked at the patch on my side. "Alright." She said, taking the patch off.
"I need to clean it." She said. I nodded, and relaxed. "Just relax, alright. Happy thoughts." She said. I nodded. Alcohol was dabbed onto my wound, and I automatically screamed. "Shh. Shh. It's done. It's done." She said.
"Only do a few. Your mother will kill me either way." Dad said. I smiled, and hopped up on the pull up bar. I felt the stitches on my wound pull. I stopped mid way. "Take it easy. If you can't do it, then don't." Dad said. "No, I can do it." I said, pulling myself up on the bar again.
"John! What are you doing!" Mum yelled, running into the back gym. "She wanted to do it. I told her not to." Dad defended. "Violet, honey, you're supposed to be resting." Mum said. "Sorry." I said, jumping down from the bar.
"She's fighter." I said. Jackie nodded. "Like you are." I said. "I am not a fighter. She's nineteen, and she's stronger than me. And I'm thirty five." She said. I smiled. "She's going to be twenty soon." I said. "Thanks for reminding me." She said. "So will Leo. Which means... He needs to train Jenna." I said. She nodded. "That's what I'm afraid of." She said. "Leo training Jenna?" I asked. She shook her head. "Jenna getting hurt. I mean, when Violet found out, I heard her screaming from the headaches. I don't want my baby girl to suffer through that." She said. "It'll happen no matter what." I said. "I know." She replied.
