I woke up to laughing. Dad laughing. Dad never laughs. I walked down stairs, and saw my mom and dad laughing. Leo sat on the couch. "Violet honey." Mom said, hugging me. I smiled. But my smile faded when I saw someone come through the garage door. "What-" "honey. You need to talk to him." Mom said. "But mom. I didn't do anything wrong. Everyone is blaming me for almost killing everyone. It's not me." I said. "Talk to him. You need to." She said. I sighed. "Fine." I said.
"Vi, I know what you're going through." Luke said, as I sat down on my bed. I laughed. "No you don't." I said laughing. He rolled his eyes. "Cal showed me the song you gave him to sing." He said. I sighed. "Of course he did." I said. He laughed. "He doesn't really know what it means." He said. "No, but Kylie does. Kylie told Calum everything." I said. He smiled. "See that's why I love him." He said. I couldn't help but laugh, but I went back to a serious face.
"Vi, look, I'm just so sorry. What I said I really didn't mean." He said. "I know. And I forgive you." I said. He smiled, and went to hug me, but I backed away. "But, I don't forgive you for screwing Chloe. And don't even say you didn't, or you didn't mean to, because I saw you perfectly clear." I said. He sighed. "Alright. That, I can't fight for. And I know I screwed up. I know I probably just changed everything." He said. "You didn't just change everything Luke. You don't see what she does. You don't know what she does to me. It's not fair." I said. He sighed.
"You're acting like a child. It's not fair? Really." He said. "See! This is what happens!" I yelled. "What!" He yelled. "We are being torn apart!" I yelled. "Maybe that's a good thing!" He yelled. I opened and closed my mouth.
"Hey. How's everything." My mom said, opening the door. "Just great." I said sarcastically. "So great, that I never wanna see you again." I said. Luke looked at me. "Honey." My mom said. "Don't." I said, walking out of the room.
What did I just do? I'm changing everything! I dialed violets number. "Hey this is Violet, leave a message! Love ya!" Her voice message said. I sighed.
I looked out my window, and saw Violet sitting on her bed. I smiled. But then, I saw someone walk in. Michael. Why Michael? Why!
She was laughing. She couldn't stop laughing. It made me sad. Just thinking that she can have a better time with my best friend than me, just makes me so sad.
"Alright, so. Here's what I have." I said, as I sat at my desk, that looked towards Luke's room. I saw him standing there. "Close your curtains." I said. "No. He's my best friend." His voice said. "Fine, then I will." I said. I closed the curtains, but I could still feel Luke's eyes watching me.
"Hey kids. Anyone want a snack?" My mom asked. "Vi! I love your mom!" Michael yelled. I laughed. "Thank you Ms. Damon." He said. "Anytime honey." She replied. "Oh Violet, I need to talk to you." She said. "Excuse me." I said, walking out of the room.
"Do you know what you are doing." She said. "What?" I asked. "Violet, you not being with Luke, is effecting the way you cope. The way you live." She said. "Mom, look. I'm fine." I said. "And, what about that." She said, pointing to my wrists. "Mom." I said. "You're not okay. You're hurt. Honey, I know the feeling. But I need you to talk to Luke. Be friends again." She said. I sighed.
"Is it alright if I invite Luke over?" I asked Michael. "Go ahead." He said. I picked up my phone, and dialed his number. "What!" He yelled. "Who is that in the background?" I asked. "What?" He asked. I opened up my curtains, seeing Chloe in Luke's room, in her bra. "I was wondering if you wanna come over." I said. "Uh. Sure?" He asked. "Cool." I replied. What did I just do!
"Hey dude. What's up." Michael said, as Luke walked in. "Screwing Chloe." I mumbled. "Violet Isabelle! Down here now!" My dad yelled. I walked downstairs. "Did I hear right!" My dad yelled. "What?" I asked. "You said screwing Chloe." He said. "How did you hear that?" I asked. He shook his head. "Be nice." He said. I sighed.
"Alright, so what do we wanna do?" I asked as I walked back into my room. "I don't know." Luke said. "Oh! Vi! Why don't you show Luke the song you've been working on!" Michael said. "I'd rather not." I said. "Why?" Luke asked. "I...i.....um. It's not finished yet." I said. Luke rolled his eyes, and put his arm around Chloe. I stiffened up, and took a deep breath. Keep it in. Keep it in.
I did my best keeping it in, until Luke kissed Chloe. That's when I let it all out, all my anger. "Woah! You alright vi?" Michael asked. "Vi! You're face is bright red!" Michael yelled. It felt like there was a tornado ripping through me, trying to escape. And at that moment, that tornado escaped.
I threw books, pictures, papers, folders, pillows, anything and everything on the floor. My whole house was shaking, and this time, no one could stop it. "Violet!" Luke yelled. "Violet!" He yelled again. "Okay. Alright. Calm down. It's alright. It's alright." My mom said, grabbing me, and pulling me into her. "I think you all should leave." She said. "Luke, you should go as well." She said.
"Alright baby. Come on." My mom said. "Mom! I don't wanna go over there!" I yelled. "You have to baby. You have to." She said. "But-" "no buts. You're going." She said.
My mom knocked on the door. "Oh Jackie!" Mrs. Hemmings yelled, hugging my mom. "What are you doing here?" She asked. "Well, Violet had one of her outbreaks again today. And Luke needs to fix it." My mom replied. "You can go ok upstairs." Mrs. Hemmings said. "Let's go." My mom said, dragging me up the stairs.
I knocked on Luke's bedroom door, and he hurried to answer it. "Violet?" He asked, letting me in. I walked in, and sat on his bed, but got up quickly. "What's the matter? My bed not comfy?" He asked. I shook my head. "You and Chloe." I said. "I know. Crazy-" "you and Chloe!" I yelled.
"We are really good for each other vi. We get each other." He said. I laughed. "Alright. So, when i get locked up in some cage, god knows where, you'll be with the love of your life." I said. "that's not that I said." He replied. "Leaving me stranded here with nothing to do." I said. "Stop-" "stop changing things Luke. You're changing everything. And out of all the days I wake up, I never wish I didn't. But you know what. Tomorrow will never die." I said. He rolled his eyes. "Have a nice life Luke. Get famous. Get rich. Forget about me. I don't care. But let me tell you this, you leave me here, alone. And I get locked somewhere, you know exactly who to blame." I said leaving his room.
