10. Dad is Gone
Morning came and everything was going the way Cynthia wanted. The girls all took off of school to say their last good-byes to their father before he left. Alexa slept late and so did Lily. Elizabeth was up at 7:00am to make her father some breakfast. He slowly ate the scrambled eggs with tears in his eyes. He was not looking forward to leaving his family. But he knew it was for the greater good. He walked into the hallway and looked at the wall that had been shot during the night.
“Cynthia! What is this?” questioned their father pointing at the whole in the wall.
Cynthia shrugged her shoulders as if to say she had no clue. When she turned back around she gave Elizabeth the evil eye signifying not to say anything.
Alexa sat up in her bed and looked around. She was still in shock from what had happened the previous night. She heard the door creek. She looked at the door with tense muscles fearing her mother would be on the other side. She was delighted to see her father’s grin. He waved at her and walked in. He sat down on the end of her bed. Lily climbed down the ladder and jumped on her father’s lap. She was hugging him very tightly.
“Morin girls. I leave today. I will miss you both terribly, especially my sweet little Alexa. Love you girls, Johnny will be her to pick me up soon.” said their father looking down.
“I love you daddy,” cried Lily.
“I love you daddy, don’t leave me! She’s gonna hurt me,” Screamed Alexa.
Their dad chuckled. He heard a beep outside.
“That’s Johnny. You’ll be fine Alexa. Love you girls,” said their dad. He kissed them on their checks and walked out of the room. They both looked out the window. Their dad waved and was gone.
Cynthia waved to her husband and giggled. She waited until he was gone and went to her room. She pulled out her phone and Googled orphanages near 12345. She found three. She picked the top result. She was sending her daughter to Angel’s Orphanage.
