I trudge to the flat after school. Ow... My back still hurts from the fall. He didn't have to drop me! Seriously though! That girl dropping-cute faced-jerk! I'm still super mad at him! Any good person would have just asked if I was alright, helped me up and go about their ways. Grrr... Life is full of jerks. Some girls just want a handsome prince to sweep them of there feet.. Welcome to my world, dreamers. We call this Reality, where the only place that you'll find Prince Charming is in this thing called a book where you can look at the pretty pictures and read cliche phrases like Once upon a time. In reality, boys are real jerks who'll just drop a girl instead of carrying her into the sunset on his noble steed (fancy words for horse). Gosh, if I ever see Gray Kagome again, you can be sure that I'll yell at him and slap that cool looking face of his.
"Wow I'm pissed." I mutter, as if in reply to my own thought process. Normally I'd just let it go with a shake of my head but I can't for some reason this time. Well.. He did drop me. I guess it is my fault for tripping over that plastic cup, I should of been watching where I was going. I sigh as I continue walking. It would of been some High School fantasy if he just happened to catch me and act all dreamy. I need to remind myself that I'm in reality and that if a prince doesn't come and get you, ya just have ta deal with it.
I live on my own on the fifth floor of the flat. Most of my friends in high school live on their own now which is perfectly normal at our age. Boy, I can't wait to get home and relax on my nice, warm bed. I am so glad that I didn't get any homework. Miss Ueda is really nice but she can be a bit creepy sometimes, especially when she gives you that 'angelic smile' and expects you to get all the answers right or die. It really freaks me out. Well, hey! Who says maths teachers come warm and friendly, or any teachers at that. Then again, I'd rather have a strict but fair teacher rather than a careless 'do what you want' sort of one.
Oh shoot! I just remembered. My neighbors in the apartment next door just moved out and the new neighbor was meant to be moving in today. Maybe I should get them a little something. I grunt and move in the opposite direction. Shoot me now for being so considerate. I move around the gift aisles thinking about what to get.
"Can I help you?" I hear a sweet voice from behind me. I turn around and the clerk smiles at me. She's really pretty and seems quite nice.
"Actually, yes if you wouldn't mind." I reply.
"But of course? What can I assist you with?" she says.
"Um.. I'm looking for a house warming gift for my new neighbor..." I tell her.
"Okay! What sex are they?"
"I'm not sure of the gender though, which is why I'm having such a hard time."
"Hmm... Then can I interest you with these?" She pulls out something from one of the shelves and hands it to me. "These chocolates are some of our finest and they're incredibly cheap!!"
"Alright! I'll buy those then!" I exclaim. I quickly pay at the till and leave the supermarket.
"I hope they don't have allergies..." I mutter under my breath. I walk to the apartments. I really had a long day today huh? Day dreaming in Maths, seeing my old best friend like that, being chucked onto the floor by a really hot guy and finally getting new neighbors. I rub myself warm when I see my breath go white. It is Winter after all and I have a feeling that Jack Frost won't spare me if I catch a cold. I enter my apartment to put my bag down and quickly fix my hair. I want to make a good impression on the new neighbor. I'm back to work at my job tomorrow after school! I can get an early nights sleep then, I guess.
I walk up to the door, chocolate box in my hand and knock.
TAP TAP TAP!
It is only a few seconds until the door is answered but for me, it feels like eternity.
"Hello?" I hear a boy's voice answer but when I look up, I see the dumbstruck face of...
"GRAY KAGOME!!!" I think out loud, not able to hide the shock in my voice.
He scratches his head, "Um yeah.. that's my name. You're that girl from earlier aren't you? It's Sky Jones isn't it?"
I nod my head.
"So then why are you-" Gray starts but I cut him of.
"Oh! Don't get the wrong idea! I'm not stalking you and I didn't come to demand an apology either." I say matter-of-factly.
"Okay... So um... What is it?" He asks. I thought I promised myself that I was gonna yell at him and slap his face hard, so why don't I? Is it because he's my new neighbor? Oh well, times are changing.
"I live in the apartment 506 next door to you. I heard that my new neighbor just moved in so I came to say hello. That reminds me! This is for you." I say, shoving the chocolates at his face. "It's a house warming present. I have to go now so bye!" If I stay any longer he might just say 'I'm allergic', shove them into my arms and slam the door in my face.
"Wait!!" He says before I can go back. "Thanks.. for the chocolates." Gray then turns and walks into his apartment.
I smile to myself. Maybe he's not such a bad guy after all?
