I Don't Know

6. 2 year old, Old best friend.

Needs some serious editing

I saw her today,

She politely said hi,

I walked straight past by,

Faced to realize

She was my two year old, Old best friend.

She had foundation caked on her face now,

Eyelashes coated in ashly black,

Not trace of splattered freckles,

Or every girls daily nightmare; spots.

I can clearly remember she hated makeup of any sorts,

Natural completion is made for us,

In her simple words,

And I agree.

And I'm a crazy, annoying freak;

Exactly the same,

My two year old, Old best friend,

In the space of two short years, changed.

She was wearing a pink short skirt,

And heels wrapped around her legs,

Hair elegantly twisted in a bun,

So effortlessly worn.

It makes me think,

Do I need to grow up?

I still wear jeans and baggy shirts,

I can't not fall in heels,

I don't know how to braid my hair.

And I can remember she couldn't either,

We were the same,

My two year old, Old best friend,

In the space of two short years, changed.

She was clever,

So am I,

Good grades,

Book lover,

Fantasy guys.

She probably has a boyfriend now,

Might be the 'popular' one,

Friends at her every scarlet blush.

And I know it shouldn't but,

It makes my heart ache,

Should I,

In the space of two short years

Have changed?
