1. "I'm So Irrevelant" mumble by nicole (andi)

So, yesterday, I was on Movellas and one of my co-authors (-brokenrecord) posted this mumble:

Nothing is basically the definition of nothing. So that means, nothing is the definition. If nothing is the definition, then what is the definition of something? Is it nothing?

. . . What is nothing?

What would the universe be if there was no universe? Would it be just black? Wait, what if black didn't exist? What would it be then?

Is this just a dream? Am I just caught up in a game? (If so, the person who's playing as me is doing a terrible job)

How come there are so many questions without answers? Why can't we just automatically know everything? Is somebody hiding something from us?

Is there something out there that I don't know about, that could possibly be dangerous?

omf. . .

What is nothing?

Like what is it physically? If nothing is nothing then what is nothing, really?

Here's a few of the replies:

Can somebody describe the colour Blue to me?

Say I'm a blind person, and I ask you what Blue looks like. . . What would you say?

What does water taste like?

Again,

What. Is. Nothing?

Does somebody have the answer?

OMERGOD...

But, if Nothing is matterless. . . then what matter would be there to describe the nothing?

Nothing?

But why would it be black? What if black doesn't exist? Is nothing white? Is it orange? Is it blue?

But if nothing's a black hole... then what would it suck up? Nothing?

Then we're back at the same question; WHAT IS NOTHING?

(Two commets by -brokenrecord herself ^^)

Nothingness might not even exist. It might be Un-existence. Everything has particles and atoms, right? Therefore it's not "nothing". Nothing is nothing, so nothing can't be.
That will satisfy me for the night XD I'll ponder this tomorrow am.

(Comment by other co-author, Grace Nebel ^^)

True.

So there's no such thing of nothing? Everything is a something?

then what is the definition of nothing? Because there's no such thing of one not containing atomics, so it's a something?

Is the definition of nothing, something? Or is it still. . . nothing.

(-brokenrecord ^^)

I saw something that said:

What if nothing is real? What if it's all in our minds? Everything you've seen is fake, and you're brain is just making it up. And doing a pretty good job at it.

(Me, Tangled In Strings ^^)

What if this conversation isn't even real?

(Armour Dollhouse Child ^^)

Well, a couple of years ago I used a string of logical arguments to "prove" that something must always exist. I won't go through the whole argument, but I basically concluded that if their ever had been nothing, the universe could not exist.

Equally, most of my arguments were based on the dictionary definition of nothing, so they're probably not even close to right.

(Parsavagely ^^)

Nothing is defined as having no single thing. but what would no single thing even be? If I cleared off my bookshelf, I would have NO SINGLE THING on there. But would that qualify as nothing? I tend to think not, because of the wood and all that.
Nothingness can't be air, either. Air is a mixture of different elements. So if air is nothing, then what you are saying is that oxygen, nitrogen, and other elements are also nothing. Which means the periodic table is nothing. 0.o

(Grace Nebel ^^)

My argument is that nothingness is the absence of 'things'. So for instance, in a state of nothingness, you would have no velocity. However, by the same logic we can say that you would have no 'stationaryness' and therefore must also be moving. We can do the same with any variable, in a state of nothingness, you must have no weight, but also no weightlessness. If this was ever the case, the universe can't exist, because there must be no matter, but also no emptiness. This suggests that there has never been a state of nothingness, as it would be impossible for anything to ever come into existence.

Also, in a state of nothingness, there must be no nothingness, so nothingness can't ever happen..

I know it makes no sense, but it's just an idea I had a few years ago.

(Parsavagely ^^)

It does make sense. And that's weird, but true. If it is indeed the "absence of things" we must always be moving, with AND without weight. So, the universe can't exist and neither can we, because we aren't with "the absence of things".
So nothing can't exist.
I really like that idea.

(Grace Nebel ^^)

The only problem is whether or not the 'absence of things' is the true definition of nothingness. And whether or not you view weightlessness as a thing or not.

(Parsavagely ^^)

So nothingness is really based on what you think of weightlessness and the definition of nothing?

(Grace Nebel ^^)

Maybe nothingness is just this surreal figment of out imagination to help describe the feelings, tastes, and colors that surround us that could be indescribable without the word "nothing". Or maybe it's one of my theories, or one of yours, or neither.

(Grace Nebel ^^)

Or is nothing just.... Is?

(Grace Nebel ^^)

What if I am just imagining this?

Like, what if ya'll are not real? And my brain is just imagining it for me and it's making it seem real?

What if we are stuck in a highly graphic video game?

I confused.

(-brokenrecord ^^)

We are real. Or we are all dreaming or something. XD
The highly graphic part is actually a good idea. We wouldn't know,of course, since we are a 'player', a 'piece' in the game. I remember this tweet I saw once that still has me thinking: "what if God or whoever is up there is playing Sims and we are the characters"
It could explain why we start to go get something but forget what three seconds later.

(Grace Nebel ^^)

What if we aren't the "human beings"? What if the real "humans" are playing us and, as in like Sims, we think it's real?

(-brokenrecord ^^)

I guess we have no way of finding that out.

(Grace Nebel ^^)

When I was a little girl I would play with dolls (They were Polly Pockets, does anyone remember those?) And wonder if we, too, were just dolls being played with.

(Me ^^)

It's actually a great point to bring up. We do our day-to-day motions without a second thought. But what if we did that because we are really puppets being controlled by some bigger force?

(Grace Nebel ^^)

I REMEMBER POLLY POCKETS *gasps*

But, what If our dolls we play with have a mind of their own?

If so, we could be the dolls playing with dolls.

(-brokenrecord ^^)

I also used to wonder if they were in the same position as us.

(Me ^^)

And then They somehow broke free, and now they are stuck with us, dolls playing with dolls.

(Grace Nebel ^^)

What if we were like our dolls now, and we couldn't do anything, we somehow broke free from a "trance"?

What if the dolls we play with now have yet to break free like us?

What if there is someone controlling your mind? Like, forcing you what to think, say, hear, do? What if we aren't our own person?

(-brokenrecord ^^)

That's a great point. But I highly doubt we would be allowed to think and type these words out. Awesome idea though :)

(Grace Nebel ^^)

OR MAYBE WE WERE JUST PLASTIC FIGURES THAT CHILDREN USED TO PLAY WITH ONCE

(Me ^^)

OMG MAYBE

(Grace Nebel ^^)

WHAT IF WERE JUST A USLESS WASTE OF SPACE AND OTHER MARSHANS ARE TRYING TO GET RID OF US?

(-brokenrecord ^^)

WHICH IS WHY WE GOT SENT TO EARTH

(Grace Nebel ^^)

WHAT IF EARTH IS ACTUALLY SHUNNED UPON?

WHAT IF THERES ACTUALLY A NICER WORLD THAN THIS?

(-brokenrecord ^^)

whAT IF THE PEOPLE (ALIENS... PAST US?) WHO WERE SENT HERE WERE SENT HERE AS PUNISHMENTS FOR EVIL DEEDS

(Grace Nebel ^^)

(guys we should make a Movella out of this...give it a plot and it'd be an amazing story)

(Grace Nebel ^^)

This is a topic that really makes ya think, huh?...

Or, maybe this topic isn't even real.
