"Class, this is Luke Hemmings, he is going to be in this class this year," Mrs. Hendricks had explained. She turned to Luke and said, "you can sit right over there, next to Sophia."
He looked over at me, smiled, and then said, "that's perfect." As he made his way next to me, he had high-fived some of his friends. "Yeah Luke," one of them said.
"The party is about to start," another said. He came over to me and sat down in his seat. I rolled my eyes in disgust, and turned to the front.
A few minutes later, I looked back at him and noticed that he was still looking at me. "You do know the front is that way, right," I said, motioning to the front of the classroom.
"Mhm," he hummed. "But you're so god damn beautiful," he said.
I turned my head and started writing down our homework, just then, the bell had rung, signalling it was the end of class.
I packed my things and picked them up and walked away. Just then Luke had said, "see you later sexy," and winked at me.
I didn't respond.
"Oh my gosh, I can't stand sitting next to Luke," I said, walking up to Charlotte.
"Why not, he's not that bad," she responded, putting her books into her locker.
"Not that bad," I exclaimed in shock.
She turned to me, and said, "Soph, you're over exaggerating, I mean come on, yeah he's the school's biggest player, but he's just talking to you. It's not like he's making a move on you," she explained.
I looked at her still shocked. "Did you not just see what he said to me; or did to me before class," I said, "he's a player, and he's definitely hitting on me. The way he looks at me says it all," I added.
"Whatever Soph, you'll be fine, let's go get lunch," Charlotte said. We walked towards the cafeteria and got lunch. I walked over to the spot we usually sat at, and sat down. "Okay, so I got everything ready for our English project after school," Charlotte said.
"Great, I'm ready to get that done and over with," I responded. I went to take a bite out of my pizza until someone sat next to us. I turned and saw that it was Luke. I turned to Charlotte and mouthed the words: help me. She simply laughed and responded: relax.
"So Sophia, you coming to my party this weekend," Luke asked.
"Why would I go to your party," I responded.
"Awe, come on Soph, I know you want to, Don't deny it, please come," he begged.
"I don't know, maybe if I have nothing better to do, I'll stop by," I suggested.
"Great, see you later babe," he said, and walked off.
I sighed, as I put my head in my hands.
"Babe," said Charlotte.
"Shut up," I muffled. She laughed and shook her head.
