It had been already a week since I had been at Charlotte's and my parents left. Charlotte's mom, Susan, had decided to make a bunch of desserts for the entire night, after we ate dinner. Charlotte and I also helped her.
"Girls, pass me the flour," Susan had said. I passed her the flour as told.
"Thank you, sweetie," Susan said.
I sat back down and started helping Charlotte make cupcakes, while her mom made some cookies.
"Can I help you," Jake asked me.
I looked down at him and said, "of course you can, Jakey!"
I lifted him up and put him on the table. I gave him the spoon full of the cupcake batter. "You can help me by licking the whole spoon," I said.
He cheered and went at the spoon. He looked funny, which made me laugh.
After Charlotte and I had finished with the cupcakes, we had put them in the oven and let them bake.
"Come here, Jake," I said. He crawled on the table and over to me. I grabbed the spoon and handed it to Charlotte, and took Jake down from the table.
"Was it good," I asked him.
"Yeah, it was great," he answered, smiling.
"Good, now let's go clean you up," I said. His mouth and hands was covered with the batter from the cupcakes it looked like he had attacked the bowl rather than just the spoon. I took him to the bathroom and helped him clean up.
Afterwards, he dried his hands and we went back downstairs to help clean up.
"Here Sophia, put this in the fridge," Susan said, handing me the milk.
I did as told and she put the flour back in her pantry, along with the baking soda and vinegar. We had washed the dishes and wiped the table and swept the floor to make sure that the whole dining room and kitchen were clean.
"Charlotte, go take your brother upstairs and give him a bath," Susan said.
"Come on, Jake," she said, picking him up and heading to the bathroom.
Susan and I had sat down on the couch in the living room and started talking.
"I see that Jake really loves spending time with you," she said.
"Yeah, he's really fun to hang out with. I wish I had a little brother like him," I said, smiling.
"You seem to be really good with kids," Susan said.
"Yeah, I guess I am, They can be a handful sometimes, but it all works out just fine," I answered.
"I'm glad that Jake has you to hang out with. I mean, besides Charlotte, me and his father, he doesn't really like to talk to anyone else," she said.
"I'm sure he'll have plenty of friends when he's older and gets to go to school," I said. She smiled.
Charlotte and Jake and came down the stairs and sat down on the couch also. Jake was all set in his ninja turtle pajamas.
"I like your pajamas," I said to him.
"Thank you," he responded.
Susan looked at me and smiled; I smiled back.
The timer had went off and she had went into the kitchen and pulled out the cupcakes and cookies that were in the oven.
"Girls, they're done, but we need to wait a little bit," she said.
"Okay," we both said at the same time.
We turned on the tv and started watching Spongebob Squarepants, because Jake wanted to.
He kept laughing at all the quirky things that Spongebob and Patrick would do.
About a while later, Susan had came back with plates full of desserts. She had set each of them on the little table in the middle of their living room.
"Wow they look good," Jake said, licking his lips. We all laughed at his remark.
She had grabbed some smaller plates and forks and set them down next to the desserts.
"Thank you, Susan," I said.
"Yeah, thanks mom," Charlotte added.
I grabbed a cupcake and two chocolate chip cookies. They turned out fantastic.
Everyone had at least one of each before we all went in for seconds.
"This is the best night ever," Jake yelled. I could tell that he was very hyper.
"Indeed, it is," Susan said, smiling.
It was around 11:30pm and Jake had passed out on the couch. All that running around he did had tired him out. Susan had also went to sleep in her room, while Charlotte and I had stood up watching One Direction music videos on tv.
"Louis is my ultimate fav," I squealed.
"Zayn is my favorite," Charlotte said.
"They're all so cute," I exclaimed.
After the videos, we headed upstairs. Charlotte took Jake and put him in his bed. We headed into Charlotte's room. I had suddenly stopped, and clutched my stomach.
Charlotte turned around and said, "Sophia, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm...fine. I probably just ate too much," I answered.
"Come on, you can sleep in my room tonight," Charlotte said. We walked into her room and I sat down on the bed.
"Soph, you don't look so good," she had said.
"It's okay, I'm fine," I said, lying back on her bed. She simply nodded and sat down in her beanbag chair.
"So, did you like Luke's party," she asked me.
"Yeah, it was good," I said.
"That's good. What was your favorite part," she asked. I could see that it was getting hard for her to keep a conversation going.
"My favorite part was when I was with Luke in his bedroom." I told myself.
"When we were dancing," I said, laughing.
"Oh my gosh, that was fun! I had a blast there," she exclaimed.
"Do you have anything for a stomach ache," I asked her.
"Yeah, come here," she said.
I followed her downstairs. I was just on the third step down until I went tumbling down the stairs and passed out cold.
"Sophia," I yelled. I heard my mom's door open and she came rushing over to us.
"Charlotte, what happened," she asked.
"She just fell down the stairs and like passed out. She won't wake up," I explained.
"Call an ambulance," my mom said. I ran over to the phone and dialed 911 and called for an ambulance.
"Where are you at," the operator asked.
"1403 Brookshire Street," I answered.
"Okay, an ambulance is on it's way," they said. I hung up afterwards.
I ran towards Sophia and my mom. "Mom, is she going to be okay," I asked.
"Yeah, she'll be fine," she answered.
I hope she's right.
