It was Monday morning, two days after Luke's party. I had heard my alarm clock go off, I groaned and shut it off. I pulled the covers off of me and went to get ready for school. I brushed my teeth, took a shower, and got dressed. I put some makeup on, and left my hair down. I went downstairs to fetch something to eat. "Hey kiddo," my dad greeted at the table. He was reading the morning newspaper.
"Hey dad," I responded. I made myself some waffles and sat down at the table to eat them.
"How was that party Friday," he asked.
"Good, I had fun," I responded. I didn't really remember much from the party, except the part with Luke and I, but I'm not ever going to tell him that.
"That's great sweetie. Well remember, your mother and I are supposed to be gone for two weeks. Did Charlotte say you could stay with her then," he asked.
"Yeah, her mom's fine with it. They said I was always welcome," I responded, smiling.
He nodded and returned to the papers.
I was at my locker grabbing everything I needed for first period, when Sophia came up behind me and scared me.
"Oh my gosh, don't do that," I said, trying to catch my breath.
She laughed at me. "Don't forget that next week I'm supposed to stay with you until my parents come home," she said.
"Yeah, I haven't forgotten. This is going to be so much fun," I exclaimed.
The bell had rung and we went to our first class of the day.
We took our seats and I saw Luke sitting there next to me.
"Hey," I greeted, smiling.
"Hey," he responded. "I have a surprise for you. Meet me by my locker after school."
"Okay," I said. During the whole time at school, I couldn't stop thinking about what the surprise could be.
