It was the day I had been dreading. The day my parents come home. I was standing in the driveway when the car had pulled up. This is the moment that I need to tell them.
"Hey Sophia," my mom said, hugging me.
"Hey guys," I said.
We all walked into the house and they got settled in. This is it.
"Mom, dad, can we talk," I asked nervously.
"Sure honey what is it," my mom asked. I sat down at the table and they did too.
"Well, this is hard for me to say," I said.
"Take your time honey," my father said. I wish I had all the time in the world, so I'd never have to tell them.
"Remember when I went to that party a few weeks ago," I said.
"Yeah...," my dad said.
"Well, I was at the party and I had a few drinks," I added.
My dad was silent and put his face in his hands. I felt ashamed.
"What happened," my mom asked, sounding angry.
"Well, I was talking to this guy and one thing lead to another, and now I'm pregnant," I blurted.
My dad slammed his hands against the table.
"Jesus Christ, Sophia, I thought we taught you better! You should've known better! We trusted you," he shouted.
"I know, and I'm sorry," I said, crying. The burning hot tears had just kept rolling down my cheeks one after another.
I looked at my mother and she was just there crying.
"Who's this kid that knocked you up? I'm going to beat his fucking ass," my father said, getting up.
"No please dad, don't do this," I cried trying to calm him down. I walked up to him and said, "please don't hurt him. It wasn't his fault." He looked at me for a few seconds and then slapped me across the face.
"Sophia, you're an embarrassment to this family," he yelled, and walked to his room, slamming the door behind him. My mom just went after him.
I just layed there on the floor crying in pain. The words had just kept replaying in my head over and over again.
