Deep Dark and Dangerous

Jared is a new boy at school and Ryan (girl) takes a liking to him. Of course young love is never simple and there is always someone trying to break it up.

33. Ours is my favorite

8 weeks and 4 days pregnant

Today was Thanksgiving but I wasn’t excited about that. I was excited about going Black Friday shopping. They had deals on cribs at Babies R Us and me and Jared were heading over there to pick one up. I know it was early but I didn’t want to pay full price for anything we didn’t need to. We were also heading over to Target for a new T.V and probably some new movies. We were heading over to Heather and Liams house. We had decided to head over there a little early with an early christmas present.

“Hi!” I shouted when I walked in the house. Heather came over from the kitchen and hugged me.

“Hi.” She answered. I brought the pie that we bought and put it in the fridge before handing her the package. Jared’s brother, Jacob came into the kitchen and hugged each of us. “What’s this?” Heather asked as she sat down and looked at the little box.

“A gift. Open it.” I smiled. Jacob’s fiance, Abiline came into the room. Everyone just calls her Abi. Heather peeled back the tape and opened the box to find a coffee cup. One the side it said ‘World’s best Grandma’ and we placed an ultrasound picture in the cup.

“Oh my gosh!” She shouted and placed her head in her hands and she cried. She stood up and hugged both of us. “This is so great.” She said. Me and Jared had gotten it all on camera and we were going to post it on youtube later to announce it.

“What is it?” Jacob asked as he came over and looked at the mug. “What? No.” He said.

“We have more news.” Jared said.

“What?” I held my hand with the ring on it. Jacob has been engaged to Abi for a little over a year and they hadn’t made any plans to get married. They were actually still living with Heather and Liam.

“Oh my gosh!” Heather shouted. There were so many emotions floating around this room right now. And not just because I was pregnant and they were crazy for me. But this is Jared’s rainbow.

When Ryan told me she was pregnant I couldn’t have been more happy. I remember when I was sixteen and that god awful girl came to me saying she was pregnant. Of course she lost the baby but this was my rainbow. If that child was mine. A rainbow is a child that is conceived after losing one. It could have been a month later or many years later. I secretly was hoping for a little boy. Of course I wouldn’t mind whichever we got. I would love it just as much.

But Ryder. I just loved that name. I figured Ry might want to name her a boy name just because she has a boy name. I would bring it up to her. Could you just imagine a little her running around here and having her name be Ryder? Is that even cute?

We would have two Ry’s in our house. I would ask her about it later. I’m sure while we were sitting outside waiting for stores to open she would bring it up. She was actually hinting at names for kids when we were like 20. There were some cute ones she had said but I will see what she says.

“Jared would you like to say what you are thankful for?” My mother asked once we sat down and were ready to eat.

“I’m thankful for family and friend. I’m thankful for my beautiful Fiance who is carrying our first child. I’m thankful for anything that was thrown at me, good and bad. I’m thankful for a beautiful life. Hello gramps, I know you’re listening.” I laughed a little. “I’m thankful for never giving up on myself. I’m thankful for everything.” I smiled before sitting back down and Ryan smiled at me and rested her head on my shoulder.

“I’m thankful for you. I’m thankful that you took me in when I had no where. I don’t think I’ve ever thanked you for that. I’m thankful for Jared. I’m not sure what I would do without him. Thank you for making him.” She said and everyone laughed and she smiled all proud of herself. We went around the table and each of us said something that we were thankful for. When my mom spoke Ryan broke down in tears as she talked about my grandfather and her mother.

“Okay. Let’s eat!” My uncle shouted and we all dug into our food. It was a good thanksgiving all around.

Here we were, sitting outside of Target. Ryan had ended up sitting on the ground with a notebook.

“What are you writing?” I asked her as I sat beside her and everyone around us did the same thing.

“Writing down some baby names.” She looked up and looked back down at the list. I looked over her shoulder at the names.

Andrea,Noelle, Emma, Mia, Lizzy, Cody, Ashton, Dakota. The list went on and on.

“How about Ryder?” I asked her and she looked up at me. She thought about it before she put it on the list and circled it.

“You’re having a baby?” The lady behind us asked looking over the list.

“Yes we are.” I smiled at her. I was very excited about it.

“They are having huge sales at Babies R us.” She said.

“We are heading there after this! We are getting a T.V first and then we are going to get a crib.” Ryan answered. “We are trying to come up with names.” She said.

“How far along are you?”

“Almost 9 weeks.” While they talked I thought of middle names for a girl. How the hell do you pick a girl middle name for a boy’s first name? I didn’t want it to be Marie because that was Ryan’s. I shouldn’t even bother she might not even want to have the name Ryder. But I loved it.

Let’s just say, I got my T.V. Ryan also found a few baby outfits she wanted. We were now heading over to Babies R Us. We were hoping that they still had the crib we needed. When we pulled up literally no one was here. I guess not a lot of people were having a baby.

“Where is everyone?” Ryan asked once we walked in the door and there were a ton of workers standing around.

“What are you guys looking for?” One of the workers asked.

“A crib.” I answered and he walked with us right over to the cribs and we found the one we wanted. He went into the back and got it before carrying it up to the front and scanning it.

“You can shop around if you want. I can hold this up here.”

“No I think we are good.” Ryan said. I didn’t need anything right now. Maybe in a few months. I paid for the crib and the guy helped me carry it out to the car and get it into the back without breaking the T.V.

“Merry Christmas to us.” I said and leaned over and kissed her before we headed home. She has been up since six this morning, it was now nearly three in the morning and I’m sure she was exhausted.

She helped me the best she could get the crib and T.V into the house. We were moving the T.V that was in the living room into our bedroom and the new one would be going in the old T.V’s spot.

“I’m exhausted.” She said once we got everything into the house and she plopped herself down on the couch.

“So go into bed.” I said helping her up and I followed behind her into our rooms where she took her pants off and revealed the red thong she was wearing and I felt myself twitch as I watched her take her shirt and bra off and put on one of mine. “Jesus.” I moaned out when she laid down on the bed.

“Come to bed, Baby.” She said smirking at me. I didn’t waste any time getting my pants and shirt off and sliding into bed next to where she climbed on top of me. Let’s just say, we didn’t get to bed until almost five in the morning.

I woke up to Ryan rubbing her hands on my chest and she smiled at me.

“Good morning.” She said and I smiled back at her.

“Morning.” I said stretching out. “Last night was…” I trailed off and smirked at her.

“You’re welcome.” She said smiling.

“Would you like some breakfast?” I asked her.

“Sure.” She answered. I knew that we had some cinnamon buns in the fridge. I knew she loved those. “I could really go for ice cream.”

“It’s breakfast time.” I said and she rolled her eyes before getting up and going into the bathroom and I went into the kitchen.

“So, did you think of any middle names for Ryder?” She asked and I smiled.

“Well for a girl, Grace and for a boy Daniel.” I answered.

“I like it. So we have our baby named. For either a boy or a girl.” She smiled at me and sat down. I smiled at her and leaned down to kiss her.

“Yes we do.” I answered. “Do you actually like it?” I asked her and she smiled.

“I’m so in love with that name you don’t even know.” She said.

“I love it too.” There weren’t many things that me and her agreed on but this, this was probably the best thing we ever agreed on. We named our kid before we even know if it is a girl or a boy and I don’t even care.

Our love story was unlike anyone else’s and I think that’s what made us stay together. That we never gave up. I watched people at school give up on each other every single day. People who were together for years just walk away. There were many love stories out there in the world, but I liked to think that ours was the best.
