DEEP DARK AND DANGEROUS
“RYAN!” I shouted through the house. I yelled her name again before she answered me.
“What?!” She shouted back at me coming around the corner. I walked towards her and wrapped my arms around her waist. I kissed the top of her head and she moved her body back and looked at me weird. “What is going on?” She asked. I laughed at her.
“Merry Christmas.” I said handing her an envelope along with a bag. She smiled at me before taking it from my hands. She walked over to the couch and sat down. I stood in the doorway watching her. She opened the envelope first.
“What are these?” She asked me confused.
“Airline tickets to Florida.” I simply stated. I watched as her eyes went wide. “I’m taking you with me.” I said. She jumped up and hugged me.
“Thank you thank you!” She said.
“There’s still more.” I said pointing to the bag that she abandoned on the couch. She handed me to the tickets and I gave them to my mom to put them somewhere safe. She opened the bag and there was a shirt in it that said ‘His Minney’. I had a shirt that said ‘Her Mickey.’
“This is so cute!” She said. I showed her mine.
“We can wear them when we got to the park.” She looked at me.
“We’re going to Disney?!” She freaked out. I laughed as she hugged me.
“Oh my gosh!” She shouted. “Thank you!” She said to my mom as she walked into the room.
“You’re very welcome sweetheart. Jared said we weren’t allowed to leave without you and I didn’t have a problem with it.” She said smiling. Ryan laughed. She wrapped her arms around me again and kissed me.
“Your turn!” She said excited. She gave me the shirt the day she bought it but I had no idea what she got me besides that. She handed me a shirt that was folded perfectly with a bow on it. I unwrapped it and looked at the back that had dates on and the name of the Green day tour. Next to one of the dates was a sticker. I held the shirt down and Ryan was holding two tickets.
“You didn’t.” I said.
“Oh but I did.” She smirked. I wrapped my arms around her hugging her.
“You’re the best.” I kissed her. “Thank you.” I said looking at the tickets.
“You’re welcome.” She said back.
“We have a lot planned for April.” I said. We were going to Florida over April vacation and a week after that was the concert.
“Wanna see what my mom got me for Christmas?” She asked. I nodded my head. She let go of me and lifted her shirt up. She had a little red piercing in her belly button with a diamond on the end. I was biting my lips trying make it seem like I wasn’t turned on.
“Damn.” I commented on it. “That’s attractive.” I smiled at her. She laughed me.
“Thanks.” She said.
“I’m going to the hospital. Are you two coming?” My mother called from the kitchen.
“You wanna go?” I asked Ryan.
“Yeah.” She put her shirt down and we walked outside to the car. I played the Green day cd I got for christmas. Some of the songs were good, others weren’t as good. “How is he doing?” Ryan asked. Ryan got very close with my grandparents although she has not seen them too much this week, they were still very close and she worried about them.
“He’s doing much better. They said he will be able to go home soon.” My mom answered her.
“Well thank God.” Ryan said smiling holding my hand a little tighter.
“That’s what I said.” I said to her. My grandfather was like my father, when my father was being a shit head, he was there. I couldn’t imagine my life without him.
“Just need to keep praying.” My mom said.
“I will.” Ryan said. I loved spending all of my time with Ryan. I didn’t even care that everyone else wanted to hang out, Ryan meant a lot to me. She was like family. I looked at her as she looked out the window staring at the sky filled with clouds. She slowly moved her head to look at me and when she did I moved closer to her and kissed her. I could feel her smiled through the kiss and held her head closer to me.
I wasn’t sure when to tell Jared that news I needed to tell him. I figured we would go to the cafe at the hospital and I could tell him there.
“I’m gonna go get a drink.” Jared said as we walked into the hospital. He walked over to the cafe and I followed behind as his mom went to the room.
“Hey, Babe? Can I talk to you?” I asked him.
“Of course.” He said grabbing a drink and paying for it. “What’s up?” He asked.
“So, there is this person…” I trailed off.
“Are you leaving me?” He asked.
“No! Never. I know this person, and she’s pregnant. I don’t know what to do.” I said.
“Its not you is it?” He asked.
“Virgin honey.” I said.
“Than who’s pregnant?” He asked.
“My mother.” I blurted out. My mom had me and my brothers young so she was still young enough to have another baby but she didn’t care about us, I would probably end up taking care of that baby.
“Oh crap.” He said. “Are you going to end up taking care of that baby?” He asked.
“Probably and I don’t want that.” I said.
“I’m sure my mom would let you stay with us.” He said taking a sip of his drink and handing it to me.
“Lets talk later.” I said handing it back to him. He kissed me.
“It will be okay. I promise.” He said. “Lets go.” He said. As we walked into his grandfathers room we both hugged him and his grandmother. I loved them, they were like my family. I loved spending time with them and just chilling.
“How are you doing?” Jareds grandmother asked me.
“I’m okay. How are you?” I asked.
“I’m wonderful. My husband is feeling better and will be able to go home soon.” She said. You could hear the excitement in her voice.
“That’s always a plus.” I said sitting on Jared’s lap. We stayed for a while. I slowly and slowly sat sideways on Jared and leaned on his shoulder slowly falling asleep. He was very comfortable.
I woke up in his bed but he wasn’t there. I was very confused and began to cry. Whenever I woke up alone and confused I would cry. I never meant to and I never knew why.
“Jared!” I cried out louder hoping he would hear me and come to me.
“Hey hey. I’m here. Its okay. Its okay.” He said as he laid me back and helped me sleep again. I felt him wipe away my tears before kissing my eyes and I fell into darkness.
