DEEP DARK AND DANGEROUS
That night after Jared dropped me off I felt so lonely. Of course I knew I wasn’t alone, but without him being there it seemed like it. I had shut my phone on when I was there and I was getting a ton of text messages from all of my friends and all of the softball girls that I had missed the practice today. To be honest I would rather be with Jared then go to softball. I texted everyone back telling them sorry that I was busy.
“Ry!” I heard my mother yell.
“You skipped practice? Was it because of that boy?” She asked. I rolled my eyes.
“Yes mom I didn’t go. And no I forgot I had practice. It wasn’t his fault.” She grabbed my face.
“You’re glowing. Did you have sex?” She asked.
“For god sake. No!” I yelled. “Do you seriously think I’m that big of a whore? One time! One time you saw me kissing a boy! Mom all we did was watch movies, eat food, and play video games. There was no nudity!” I lied a little.
“Don’t lie to me, Ryan!” She yelled.
“I’m not lying!” I yelled back. I rolled my eyes again. “I’m glowing because I like him! I like him a lot!” I said just as he walked through the front door. I saw him smirk.
“Sorry to bother you but you left this in my car.” He said as he handed me my bag.
“Thanks.” I said as I took it from him and he left. My mom just looked at me and carried on.
‘So you like me?’ He texted me.
‘Yeah.’ I remember when we met I was so scared of him. And somehow I started to like him.
‘Thats cute.’ He said. I was sitting at my desk in my room that faces the front of the house when I heard a knocking. I turned and saw him sitting on the roof in the cold and rain.
“Holy. You must be freezing!” I said as I hugged him and got him a blanket. He laid down on my bed.
“My dad. He’s home. I didn’t want to be there.” He said. I laughed.
“Its fine. My mom is working until tomorrow. You can stay here.” I said as I sat back down and turned some music on.
“Where is your dad?” He asked.
“Work probably. He doesn’t live here.” I said. “They think I’m a whore anyway who cares?” I asked.
“Don’t!” I yelled. “I already know what you are going to say.” I laughed. He laughed too.
“You like me.” He said quickly. I moaned.
“I can’t believe you heard me say that.” I said turning around to face him. My face was beat red.
“Awe baby.” He said laughing and come over to stand in front of the chair. He lifted me up and sat me on his lap. “I like you too.” He whispered to me. I smiled.
“I know!” I said. I moved my legs so I was facing him and he held my thighs.
“How did you know?” He asked. I held his face.
“The way you look at me. The way you always smile when you’re talking to me. How you’re already so whipped!” I laughed.
“You think I’m pussy whipped?” I laughed.
“I know you’re whipped.” I laughed. He shoved me a little.
“I am not!” He said.
“Wanna go get me some water?” I asked.
“Sur- hey!” He yelled. “I am whipped.” He whispered and covered his mouth. I laughed.
“Oh god. You’re so perfect.” I said as I looked into his eyes.
“Thanks.” He said. Jared looked like a person you wouldn’t mess with. But when he was with me he joked around and acted like he didn’t have a care in the world. “Wanna go see a movie? Its not too late. Movie will be out before midnight.” He said. I have gone to movies late before and my mom wasn’t home so I decided why not?
“Yeah.” I stripped out of my pjs and put some leggings on with a shirt that I stole from Jared.
“Isn’t that mine?” He asked.
“Yeah I liked it.” I said. It was bigger than me so it went down past my butt. I walked in front of him.
“I can’t see your butt though.” He said and I could hear the frown in his voice. I laughed.
“ You’ve seen it naked just close your eyes.” I said. I walked forward and I heard something hit the wall and then an ow! All sad like. I laughed when I turned around and saw Jared holding his head. “Awe honey.” I said as I walked towards him. “Are you okay?”
“Your ass injured me.” He smirked. I laughed.
“No. The wall did.” I grabbed his hand. “Lets go.” I said as we walked out. He held his car door open for me and closed it. He ran over to his side of the car. He drove over to the movie theater after I gave him directions.
“What movie do you wanna see?” He asked. I looked at the list of movies.
“Paranormal activity.” I said. I wrapped my arm around his waist and he wrapped his around my shoulder. We waited in the super long line. I saw an 8 year old or so and pointed him out. “He should be in bed.” I whispered.
“I should bring you to bed.” He said and winked at me. I shoved him and winked at him.
“You think so uh?” I asked. “We can sleep later honey.” I laughed. He frowned. He grabbed him again and hugged him. We moved up in line and he never let go of me. I saw that we were getting looks from other people. I saw a few people from school looking at us. “People are starring.” I whispered to him as we moved again.
“Let them.” He said to me and kissed my forehead giving them a show. I liked Jared a lot. And I knew he liked me. I think he was waiting for when the time was right to ask me out. And to be honest I liked it this way. If we were best friends first our relationship would last ten times longer. It was weird to me that he was basically mine. I looked up at him and smiled. “What?” He asked.
“Its nothing.” I looked down again and smiled.
“No tell me.” He groaned out.
“I was just thinking you are basically mine.” I said.He smiled and laughed.
“Yeah.” He said looking down at me. “And you’re mine.” He hugged me tighter.
“Next!” We heard the guy yell. Jared wrapped an arm around my waist and I wrapped one around his.
“Two tickets for Paranormal Activity.” Jared said as he grabbed his wallet out of his back pocket. I would usually argue to let me pay but I thought I would let him pay because he would have my ass if I said anything.
“Thanks, Jare.” I said to him.
“Of course.” He said. He paid and we both walked away. “Want some ice cream?”
“I can’t. I have an intolerance to glutton. Can’t have anything dairy.” I said. It really sucked that I had to give up all the foods I loved because I all of sudden was having issues with glutton.
“You ate pancakes ate my house the other day.” He said.
“Didn’t you notice that I was in and out of the bathroom? I didn’t feel good.” He looked at me.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” He asked like a worried boyfriend that he would soon be.
“I didn’t want you to worry about the food I eat.” I said being honest with him. “I didn’t want you to think I had an eating disorder.” I said as he held my hand and I leaned into him.
“Ry, you can tell me anything.” He said.
“I know but I didn’t want your mom to run out and buy food I could eat.” He looked at me.
“Gosh.” Was all he said and I laughed. “Lets go.” He said as he grabbed my hand tighter and walked me into the theater. We sat down and right away we got looks from people. He put the arm rest up that was in between us and he moved my body so I was closer to him. I laid down in his arms and my legs and butt on the chair. He rubbed my back when the movie started. I couldn’t watch it as I was paying attention to how low his hand was getting on my back.
Eventually the movie ended. I eventually paid attention to it. There were some parts where I was really scared and I was mad that they killed off the hot boy. Jared got mad that I thought the boy was cute.
“You’re mine though.” I said as he grabbed my hand and led me out to the car. He opened the door for me and helped me inside.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” I rolled my eyes. He was still on this topic.
“I didn’t think it was important for you to know right now.” I said. I looked over st him to see him rolling his eyes. I rolled my again. I was getting very annoyed. After that we drove in silence. “Are you still sleeping over?” I whispered to him as we sat in the car once we arrived at my house.
“Sure.” He whispered back nodding his head. We walked hand in hand up to my room where we both undressed and fell asleep in each others arms. I woke up the next morning and he was gone. I put a sweatshirt on and walked down the stairs but there was no sign of him and his car was gone. That feeling of loneliness was there again. It was like I needed him to survive.
“Where did you go last night?” My older brother was sitting at the table eating cereal.
“Out to a movie with a friend. I’m regretting it now.” I mumbled the last part. I should have known he wasn’t going to stay. Who would stay with a girl like me? After everything he ever said to me and he was just gone. Just like that. I wanted to eat but now I didn’t really want to. I went back up to my room and laid on my bed reading love quotes on my phone. Some of them brought tears to my eyes knowing I would probably never have that.
“Making pancakes! Want them Ryan friendly?” I heard my brother yell. I made my voice sound normal before I yelled down to him saying no.
“Keep this in mind. One day there’s gonna be a person who is going to love you. Your body, your smile, the way you walk, the way you talk, the way you laugh, they’re going to love and you are going to feel confident and on top of the world. One day you wont feel insecure. You’re day is coming. I promise.”
