The War of Four Worlds

"I race through the woods, dodging trees and leaping over boulders, careful not to slip on the thin layer of frost on the ground. I routinely glance over my shoulder, seeing the pack of wolves quickly gaining on me.
I come to a halt when I reach a drop-off. Very long way down, and the cliff is vertical, no way to slide anyways. I hear the panting and paws crunching snow, so I'll try something new."

Read it to figure out what this is about! Hint: it gets very science fictioney (that's not a word) and there's plenty of blood and stuff so be warned.

Also, watch the 'trailer' (it's just a song, actually, but if you like rock music you should listen to it).

8. Chapter 8

"She'll be fine. It was a deep cut with splinters and she lost a lot of blood, but there'll hardly be a scar."

"Thank you, doctor," Jonah replies. The man nods curtly and walks away, clearly uneasy in the presence of someone not from Earth.

Jonah looks at me and sighs. "Let's go home."

When we get there Jonah watches me carefully to make sure I don't test my healing again.

"You don't have to worry, I know now that it'll keep bleeding," I say, and he raises an eyebrow in question. "What? Normally it wouldn't have done that," I say.

"Yes, but did you have to let it bleed for an hour?"

"It was for science!"

"No it wasn't."

"It was for mathematics!"

"Do you think it's temporary?" I wonder.

"Honestly? I have no idea. But don't worry. We'll find a way to fix this, and until then I'll keep you safe." I smile at him.

A knock on the door.

"Oh, what now?" I ask as I stand up and swing open the door. It's one of my doctors, the one who is in charge of keeping the secret of immortality safe. The formula remains in his head.

"I hear you are having some problems?" he asks.
