5. teenagers scare the living sh*t out of me
Teenagers get portrayed really badly on television. In films and on television shows we get portrayed as either a rebellious kid that constantly rolls our eyes and groans and hates adults or snotty preppy kids that are giant bullies. Sure, we roll our eyes at adults but adults roll eyes at adults too, sure we get angry at adults but adults get angry at adults. So what if we sneak out? It’s the adults that raised us that are too strict to the point of us sneaking out. We aren’t all bullies, some cheerleaders are so nice and caring, not all football players shove nerds into lockers. Not every teen that wears all black and listens to Blink-182 is depressed and rebellious, I just hate the portrayal we get in films and shows and sometimes even books. We have feelings too, we aren’t all about ourselves and we don’t all hate adults, sure, I get upset and throw stuff and roll my eyes but adults do that stuff too so why should teens be the only ones portrayed like that? Sometimes I’m nice to adults if they’re nice to me. If you automatically assume that I am a depressed rebelliouskid because my rock music is a little too loud or my jeans are ripped at the knees then that doesn’t give you a chance to know who I really am. Consider this, adults who think all teens hate adults, we only hate you because you hate us.
Teenagers have political views
Just because we're in between
Of being a child
And an adult
Doesn't mean our views will be wrong
Because they're coming from an adult perspective
And a childlike mind.
