"Where's your sister, son?" my father asks.
"Um. she's, um, in the kitchen," James, my brother, says.
"I don't wanna see him!" I whisper-yell to my family. "who invited my... I mean Mikey to come?!"
"Honey, calm down. Nobody did. I think he just decided to come. After all, he is your-"
"Don't even finish that word. He is not my father."
"Hey sweetheart," Mikey says.
"Don't call me that! My name is Emily, use it! Or did you forget in the five years it's been since you've seen me?!" I burst into tears and run to my bedroom. Elizabeth, then comes into my room.
"Hey sissy. Are you okay?"
"I will be once that monster leaves. We better go and see what is happening. Come on"
I stop in the hallway and hold Elizabeth back when I hear Chris, my step-dad, speak up.
"I think it's best you go, Mikey."
"Can't I just try and Speak to her?" Mikey Asks.
"I don't think that's a good idea, did you not just see her reaction to your face?' Chloe sys.
"It's fine, but you only get three minutes because I have a flight to catch."
"I'll take whatever I can get, Swee-, I mean Emily."
"Why did you just all-of-a-sudden show up?"
"I was wondering what my little girl looks like a grown woman. I wanted to wish her a happy birthday." He says.
"Okay, let's get some things straight. First of all, I'm not your little girl. I'm Chris' little girl. He ha made an effort to be there my whole lie. He ha made me who I am. And two, since when do you care?" I ask, obviously mad.
He just looked at me with sad eyes, then slowly put his head down, knowing I am right.
"I'm sorry, Emma. I was such a terrible father to you, but I want to change that. I want to be apart of your life again."
I stare straight into his eyes and say, "It's a little late for that, I'm moving to Ireland."
"Oh, I see, I'm sorry. I'm just going to leave before I get in anymore trouble. No matter what you feel or think, Emma, I love you so much,. Oh and here..."
He hand me a small box and walked out the door.
