I wake up realizing, I'm leaving everything behind today. My family, friends, pets, memories, everything. I'm going halfway across the world today, all alone. After thinking about this for a few minutes, I walk out of my room, down the hallway and into the kitchen. It's so dark in here. Isn't anyone up? I decide to wait at the table and think some more until everyone wakes up, but just then, my mother, step-father, two younger brothers, younger sister, and Chloe come around the corner.
"Happy Birthday Emily!" They all scream.
"Well, belated birthday..." Chloe says, earning a chuckle from me.
"Even though we didn't do this yesterday, the feelings are the same. I love you guys! Thank you!" I say and hug them all in a massive group hug.
"We figured why not do it on the same day instead of making way to much food." My mother says.
"Speaking of which, where is the food?" I ask while everyone laughs at my confused state.
"Did you look in the oven?" My little sister, Elizabeth asks.
"Exactly." She replies while giggling.
We all sit down while Chloe and my mother get the good out of the oven. They made anything and everything you could possibly think of! From eggs, to grits, to sausage, an even bacon! Bacon is my favorite food.....ever! I would never be able to be a vegetarian. I love bacon too much! While we were sitting quietly, enjoying our food, Chloe interrupts the silence.
"I'm going to miss my Emmyboo so much!" She yells while cramming a piece of crisp bacon in her mouth.
"I'm going to miss my Chloebug and everyone else even more!" I say with a tear escaping my blue/grey eye.
"Now don't start crying or you'll get all of us crying an then we will have to name a new river." My mother says trying to lighten the mood.
"That wou-" my sentence got interrupted from a knock at the door.
"Who could that be?" I ask looking at Chloe and my mothers faces which look just as confused as mine.
My 17 year old brother stands up, showing off his muscular chest and arms because of his loose shirt.
"I'll get it!" He says as I he were a two year old.
"How can I.....he-" He was at a loss for words.
"Uh.....um come in?" He say more as a question.
"Sure thing kiddo." A mans voice says.
I know that voice all too well. I was planning on never hearing that voice again, especially not today.
