I hated being a First year. Being the youngest of the school, everyone acting like you're not there. But the one thing I hated the most was the teachers! Always asking if you were okay like you were some little lost five year old. It winds me up!
'I'm really scared for Defense Against the Dark Arts. My sister told me that a person died once when a spell went wrong. She said she was there and witnessed the whole thing!' Lauryn, my current friend (that needs to change) said.
'Oh my god! Really? That sounds terrifying. If I'd saw something like that, I'd never come back.' said my other friend, Beth.
'You're sister has obviously lied to you because they never use spells that can kill you. Besides, if it is true, it just shows that person was shit at Defense.' I said. Lauryn and Beth were really starting to annoy me. Considering they were both half-bloods, you'd think they'd have some knowledge of magic, but they were just acting like muggleborns.
Lauryn and Beth gasped. I didn't understand why, then I realised. I swore.
Technically, I wasn't allowed to swear but what my mum and sister don't know won't hurt them.
Another thing, my sister. Catarneigh Salucci. I also have another sister, Heather but I don't tend to socialise with her anymore. Cat was the worst, though. She was like a Donna Calley two, and that isn't a good thing. Talking about my sister, I saw her and her friends walking towards the Great Hall. I left Lauryn and Beth and ran over to her.
'Can I have some tuck money?' I asked. I knew there was two boys in our Heather's year who ran a tuck shop.
'No.' said Cat.
'Why not?' I asked.
'Because I haven't got any money to give you.'
'Oh. Can I go to that party that's happening tonight?' I asked.
I'd heard two Gryffindors talking about it in Potions and I really wanted to go. I knew that Cat would no doubt get an invite and if she went, I could come to. Show them how First years aren't just little kids.
'No.' Cat said again.
'Why not?' I asked.
'You're too young.' Cat sat down on the Ravenclaw bench. I sat next to her.
'Please,' I begged. 'I bet Heather gets to go.'
'That's because Heather's a Gryffindor. You're a Ravenclaw.'
'I won't do anything stupid, please!'
'No, Rose. Why can't you understand that?'
'You're so unfair.' I got up and left, with Lauryn and Beth following behind me.
'I don't want to go to that party, Rose.' said Lauryn.
'I don't care what you want to do, Lauryn. Aargh! Just go find someone else to annoy.' I stormed off to the Ravenclaw common room. I had no idea who I was angry at. Cat, Lauryn, Beth?
Once I reached the Ravenclaw dorms, I slammed the door.
I'm going to that party whether Cat likes it or not. And I'm dragging Lauryn with me.
