Liv's POV

"Who are you guys?"

I was sitting in the back seat of a black SUV. The man in the suit was driving, while the woman with the black hair was gazing out the window silently.

"Hello?" I asked, a little bit impatiently. "I know I'm not talking to a wall here." The man's eyes met mine as he looked through the rearview mirror and he shook his head. "What?" I hissed. "You guys practically kidnapped me, and I think I deserve the right to know who you are."

The lady in the passenger seat turned around, her green eyes peering at me through her glasses. She smirked. "First of all," she said, a single manicured finger lifted in the air, "we didn't kidnap you. From what I remember, you agreed to come with us. We didn't force you to do anything. This is all on you sweetheart."

I rolled my eyes. "Second of all," she continued, "you already know that we work for Mr. Styles. That's all you need to know."

"I just want to know your names. That's it," I repeated. "So then maybe we can just become the greatest friends and live happily ever after." Her condescending tone was making my blood boil a little.

"I'm Ren," the guy in the driver's seat spoke up and said. "And this," he added while tilting his head towards the girl beside him, "is Maria. Mr. Styles's personal secretary."

"Nice to meet you Ren," I said, a small smile spread across my lips. "What's Ren short for? Darien?"

He laughed. "That's what they all say. But no, it's short for Renier."

"Yes," he confirmed with the nod of his head. "I know it's weird."

"Very," I laughed.

Silence spread among us quickly, and Maria was facing forward again. I looked out the window, and watched as we drove into the city. I tried to stay out of the city as much as possible. It was way too chaotic.

There were way too many people around. Way too many thoughts would be free to fly around my mind.

Cars were everywhere as the car drove through the busy streets. I looked up, only to see buildings, skyscrapers. It was all absolutely beautiful.

The car rolled to a complete stop, and we were sitting in front of a gated area, with a house dead in the middle of the large area.

This couldn't be his fucking house. Are you kidding me?

I saw a enormous, modern-day mansion out the window. Huge glass windows made up the first level of the home, navy blue curtains hanging over the windows. The rest of the floors just got more, and more extravagant. I was dizzy.

Ren rolled down his window, and reached out. He punched in a few numbers on the nearby keypad and the gates slowly opened. I spotted the few security cameras on each end of the gate.

The car began to move again up a perfectly paved driveway. I turned around in my seat and watched as the gates closed behind us.

"How big is this place?" I asked, overwhelmed by the size of the house. I wouldn't be able to afford a place like this in a billion years.

"600,000 square feet," Maria spoke, her eyes glued on the rode in front of us. "Why? Have you never seen a house this big before?" I saw the corners of her mouth pull up in a smirk.

She was trying to insult me. I scowled at her. "I was just asking. You don't have to be such a b-"

"Okay," Ren interrupted, a nervous look on his face. The car came to an abrupt stop and Maria glared over at him. He shrugged his shoulders, and pulled off the black pair of sunglasses that were covering his eyes. "Everybody out," he ordered.

I unbuckled my seatbelt with ease, and opened the door. My legs touched the ground immediately as I got out. I brushed my clothes off and sighed.

Thank God. I actually put on some real clothes today.

The door slammed shut, and I walked towards the front of the car where Ren and Maria were waiting for me. Styles's house looked even bigger up close. Christ.

How much space did one person need?

Ren signaled for me to follow him and I trailed behind him as we walked up the front steps of Styles's home.

My skin crawled. I was actually about to meet him. Harry Styles. My breath hitched as Maria opened the big, and thick wooden doors which guarded the entrance of the home. The doors creaked open, which made my nerves skyrocket even more.

Both Maria and Ren walked in the home with ease, and I trailed behind them hesitantly. I stepped through the door frame and my eyes immediately widened.

The inside of his house looked even better. I saw a huge living room, with black leather couches and black furniture placed everywhere.

This guy must love the color black.

A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, and I watched as light reflected off of each of the crystal pieces. A spiral staircase was in the corner of the room, which I assumed led to the rest of the house. Cream colored marble coated the floors, and I could hear the sound of Maria's heels clicking as she walked over to a nearby desk.

I watched as she pressed a buzzer on the desk and a nearby speaker buzzed. "Mr. Styles, sir?" she spoke sweetly into the intercom. That's the nicest I've seen her all day. "Your guest is here."

Maria let go of the button and walked around to the back of her desk. She sat down in her black office chair and spun around in it.

The intercom buzzed again. "Send her on up."

His voice sent chills down my spine, and my legs quivered. I felt a hand land on the top of my shoulder, and I spun around, only to find Ren.

"You can take the stairs," he said, his finger pointing towards the staircase, "or, you can take the elevator."

There's an elevator too?

"I''m guessing that you'll want to take the elevator," he said, a small smile on his lips. He bent down so that his lips were closer to my ear. "Trust me. You don't want to walk up all of those stairs. I do it all the time, and I honestly feel like I might die at the very top."

I laughed. Ren was a really fit guy from what I could tell. His tux molded against each of his muscles. He was attractive too. His light brown eyes and quiff of black hair, along with his sleek jawline did him justice.

"Looks like I'll be taking the elevator," I laughed, my nerves dying down just a little.

He pointed down a hallway to the right. "Walk down that hallway, and the elevator will be on your left. Take it up to the fourth floor, and Mr. Styles will be waiting for you."

"Mr. Styles will be waiting for you."

The nerves were back. "Okay," I said. "Uhh, thanks?"

"No problem," he laughed before walking the other direction.

As soon as he was gone, I began my journey down the hallway. The lighting was dimmer this way than the rest of the house. I could hear the heels on my boots clicking on the marble floor.

Some music would be great about now.

Once I made it down the dead silent hallway, I reached the elevator. I reached out and pressed the up button with my finger and shoved my hands down my pockets.

My foot began to tap on the ground as I waited for the elevator doors to open. I think it was out of nervousness...

I heard a single ding, and the doors opened. Even the interior of the elevator was black, which doesn't surprise me. I stepped into the elevator and pressed the '4' button. The doors immediately shut, and I closed my eyes.

Ding. Floor One.

Calm down Liv, why are you acting like this?

I don't know? Maybe because this man has the potential to ruin my life.

He could probably even get away with killing me today too.

Maybe he's actually going to follow through on that tresspassing charge?

The elevator came to a stop, and my eyes snapped open. Here we go. The doors slowly opened, revealing a large, all glass room with part of the floors covered in grey marble, while the other was covered with white carpet. 4 white pillars were parallel to each other in the room. Two of them were blocking my vision currently.

I froze. Am I actually ready for this? Cautiously, I stepped out of the elevator, and my heels hit the floor. The doors shut behind me, sealing my fate. I began to walk towards the middle of the room. I tried to hone in on any sounds, but there was nothing. There was only absolute silence.

Once I reached the dead center of the room, I saw him. He was in front of me.

"Liv?" My name rolled off his tongue sweetly, and I practially moaned right there.

He wasn't facing me. His slim and tall body was leaning against one of the white pillars, his eyes set out on the beautiful New York City skyline outside the windows around us. Sunlight beamed through the glass, illuminating his curly brown locks. I watched as he lifted his hand up, only to take his bottom lip between two fingers.

The rings. They were all still there, all of them. The light reflected off of each of them, the silver color shining. He was smartly dressed in a crisp, black dress shirt. Some of the buttons were undone, revealing his tattoed chest again. A pair of black skinny jeans covered his legs, a pair of matching shoes with them as well.

He looked my direction, my breath hitching in my throat as soon as they did. His piercing green eyes peered into mine, and I watched as he began to stalk towards me. In a few seconds, he was in front of me. His green eyes were analyzing me. Studying me precariously.

"Hello," he said, a smirk spread across his rosy pink lips. "Again."

My eyes wandered down his god-like body. I drew my lip in between my teeth to keep myself from groaning. A chuckle from him interrupted me from my thoughts, and my eyes returned to his.

"Uhh," I stuttered like an idiot. Dammit Liv. "Hi?"

He laughed, and he folded his arms across his chest. "I'm Harry Styles," he said, his tone calm and sophistcated. He raised his arm out in front of him, his hand extended. I just stared.

Are you an idiot Liv? Shake the man's hand!

I met his hand and I shook it. His hand was warm, and the small amount of contact sent a series of shocks throughout my body. I looked up into his green eyes, to find them much bigger than they were a few seconds ago. Did he feel that too? We both let go of each others hands quickly, and I looked down at my fingers.

T-That was weird.

"Uh-" I swallowed slowly, quickly averting his gaze. "Liv Knight," I blabbered out like an idiot. "Nice to meet you...again." I felt a red blush creeping up on my cheeks, and I cleared my throat.

Someone just kill me now. Please. I'm begging you.

Harry's green eyes gleamed. "Sit," he ordered kindly, his hand motioning over to the seat across from his desk. A moment passed where Harry just stared at me, his green eyes slightly dialated. He looked away bashfully once he realized it though, and he walked towards his desk. I followed suit, following him across the bright room. The atmosphere in this room felt much different than the rest of the house. This room was more cheerful, less pent up. I could see that Harry was more relaxed than when I saw him previously.

Well, you were technically trespassing on his property Liv.

He sat down in his white office chair behind his desk, and I sat in the chair placed directly in front of it. I immediately crossed my legs and folded my arms across my chest.

"So," Harry said before swiping his tongue across his lips. If he's going to do that the entire time, I might as well die right now. "You're probably wondering why you are here Liv, correct?"

I guess you could say that. I nodded my head and he chuckled. He leaned forward on his desk, his fingers lacing together in the process. "Well," he continued, his voice not as light and cheerful as it was previously. "You're different Ms. Knight," he said, his green eyes trained on me. "But I think you already know that."

"What are you?" I asked him abruptly. He raised his eyebrow in curiosity.

"No, no, no," he mumbled. "I'm asking the questions here." I swallowed the lump in my throat. "Plus, I'm pretty sure you already know what I am. So, there's no need to play dumb."

Play dumb?

I scoffed. "You're right," I admitted, my eyes locked with his. "I do have a pretty good damn idea of what you are. But, I just need you to confirm it."

I watched as his Adam's apple bobbed up and down, his jaw clenched thereafter. I held my ground. An impatient sigh escaped my lips, which caused Harry to narrow his eyes.

"Who sent you?"

My eyes widened. "W-What?" I asked. "No on-"

"Don't lie to me," he growled, a rumble forming in his chest. His green eyes were a darker shade now, his eyes locked with mine. "Someone fucking sent you that night."

I laughed. This man is crazy. "You are insane," I said. I looked him in the eyes and began to shake my head. "Absolutely insane. No one sent me. It just happened."

He still didn't believe me. The look on his slightly tanned face confirmed it. "Fine," I scoffed. "You don't have to believe me." I ran my fingers through my hair and chuckled. "If you're going to be a dick this entire time," I continued, my gaze averted from his, "I might as well leave."

I looked up at him.

Your turn. He leaned back in his chair effortlessly, and a delectable smirk spread across his lips. Harry glanced up towards the ceiling. "Okay," he laughed. His laugh made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. "Leave then," he challenged effortlessly. He sat back up quickly and he stared at me with those green eyes. "See if I care."

That's all I needed to hear. He didn't have to tell me twice. I immediately rose from my chair and started walking away from his desk. My shoes hit the marble floor and I could hear the click of my heels all the way to the elevator. I felt his eyes on me the entire time, and I swayed my hips on purpose.

I smirked. My index finger pressed the down button on the elevator controls and I could hear the elevator heading up to this level seconds later.

C'mon, C'mon.

A couple dings later, the elevator slowly opened. I hesitated a little, and stared at the empty elevator. A second later, I heard the sound of Harry getting up out of his chair. That motivated me to take a step on the elevator.

"Wait," I heard him shout as he ran towards the elevator. That didn't stop me from pressing the button so that I could get to the main floor.

I'm home free!

Before the doors could even shut, an arm was dead in the middle of them, causing them to slowly open back up again. Harry walked in the doorway of the elevator, and he stood in it.

"Look," he sighed. "It's been a rough day and I'm so-"

"Save it," I said, no trace of forgiveness on my face. His green eyes lowered to the ground, and I smirked. "I don't like apologies Styles," I half-smiled.

Harry's eyes shot up and he smirked. "Styles?"

"Yep. It's cute." Just like you.

His angelic laugh filled my ears. "Okay," he said before licking his lips again. "Let's just start over." He waved me out of the elevator. We stood in front of each other, his arm extended out in front of him again. "Hi, I'm Harry Styles."

I smiled. I took his hand and shook it, the shocks traveling through me again. But, this time I ignored the sensation to the best of my ability. "Hi," I said, pulling my hair behind my ear with my other hand, "I'm Liv Knight."
