WEEK 1 - SATURDAY
I wake up the next morning at 11. I check my phone and I have one missed call from Joy. She called this morning at 9.07. I call her back. She picks up after the second ring.
"Hello, sleepy head." She says.
"Hello to you too." I reply.
"Is there a possibility that me and the girls come over?" She asks.
"Sure, no problem. What time will you be here?" I answer.
"In an hour? Then I can call the girls."
"Fine. See you in an hour. Bye." I say.
"Bye. We want to hear everyrhing about your date last night!" She says and then the line goes dead.
I put my phone back on my nightstand and get out of bed to take a shower. I clean the make-up from my face and strip down from my pajamas. I let the water run until it's warm and then I step in. I wash my body and hair while singing Voodoo Doll from 5 Seconds Of Summer. When I'm done washing myself, I turn off the tap and dry myself off. I wrap the towel around my body and walk over to my closet. I grab underwear and decide to wear something comfy today: a blue sweater with my sweat pants. I put my hair up into a messy bun and don't wear any make-up. I grab my phone and walk downstairs to have breakfast. I put some bread in the toaster and when it's done I put some butter and cheese onto it. I sit down on the couch and switch on the tv. I eat my breakfast while watching Faking It and Catfish. When I'm done eating I text Liam.
Hey, I had fun last night. Thank you so much for the amazing time. X
Yes, I know I put X behind the text. I think I can. I mean, we had our first date. And I think I kind of like him. He's so romantic and nice and hot and .... I get interrupted by the doorbell. I stand up to open the door and there are my four best friends.
"Hello girls, come in." I tell them.
They greet me and one by one I hug them. We walk to the living room and I put my plate in the sink.
"So, how was your first date with lover boy Liam yesterday?" Michelle teases.
"It was great." I say, not wanting to give them more details yet.
"Tell us." Sandra says.
"Well, he took me to the beach." I say.
"Yes? And wat did you do?" Joy asks eagerly.
"We had dinner there." I said.
"And that's it? No kissing or having sex?" Michelle asks.
"No, Michelle. No kissing or having sex. We did watch the sunset though. Then it turned cold and he gave me his coat." I said casually.
"So something happened there." Joy teased.
Then I notice that Leah has been quiet all the time again. Like every time we talk about Liam. What is wrong with that girl?
"Let's watch a movie. Something like Grease or Pitch Perfect or something. You guys pick." I suggest.
The girls nod and I grab Leah's hand, making her go up to my room with me. I sit down on the bed and she sits down too, a questioning look on her face.
"Spill." I say.
She cocks one eyebrow up.
"I know something's wrong. Every time we talk about Liam you're all quiet and grumpy." I say.
Leah sighs, not saying anything.
"Please, Leah, I want to know what's going on in your head." I plead.
"If I tell you, you're going to be so mad at me." She says.
"I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. We both won't know untill you tell me." I say.
"I really don't want to tell you. We just had a fight. I just can't." She says, tears coming into her eyes.
"Hey, don't cry. It can't be so bad that you have to spill your tears to it." I say, pulling her into a hug.
"Okay, please promise me you won't stop talking to me after I tell you this." She pleads me.
"Okay, I promise I won't stop talking to you." I say getting more confused.
"I like Liam." She says and after she said it, she stands up and runs to my bathroom.
I expected her to say anything, but I certainly didn't expect this. I walk to the bathroom door and try to open it. I find it locked. I put my ear against the door and hear Leah cry.
"Since when?" I ask her.
"Monday..." She says between sobs.
Suddenly the puzzle pieces fit together. That's why she looked so disappointed when Liam came over at our sleepover. I thought there was something wrong.
"Can you please come out? I'm not mad at you. It can happen to everyone to fall in love. We'll find you a cuter boyfriend." I say.
I hear footsteps coming closer to the door and then Leah unlocks it. I open up and pull her into a big hug.
"Don't worry about it. It can happen to everyone. I'll try to have Liam over as less as possible when you guys are here and I'll stop talking about him in your presence. Is that a good idea?" I ask, pulling away from the hug to look into her eyes.
Leah nods and I hug her once more.
"Shall we go downstairs again?" I ask her.
"Yeah, let me clean my face for a little." She replies.
She walks back into the bathroom and I follow her. I grab the things she needs and give them to her. Leah cleans the make-up off her cheeks and under her eyes. When she's done we walk downstairs again. Michelle, Sandra and Joy are watching Grease, drooling over John Travolta, snacks and drinks on the table.
"You know that he's bald and much fatter in this year, right?" I say, teasing them.
"Shh, you're ruining the moment!" Sandra says.
I laugh at them and Leah and I join them, sitting on the other couch. We watch the remainder of the movie and after the movie is over, the girls decide to go home again. By now it's 2.30 in the afternoon. I grab my phone and call Liam. He picks up quite quick.
"Hello there." He answers.
"Hi." I reply.
"I was about to call you, you know?" He says.
"What about?" I ask.
"I was wondering if you'd want to meet my friends, since I met yours already." He says.
"Sure, I'd love to. I think I know one of them already." I laugh.
"Yeah, think so too. But I've got three more friends." He says.
"Wow! Like seriously, THREE more friends?" I say teasing.
"Yeah, three more! Unbelievable, right?" He laughs.
"Anyway, what time do I have to be at your place? You have to text me your address though." I say.
"Nah, I'll come to pick you up. I'll be there in 30 minutes." He says.
"Okay, thanks. See you in 30." I answer.
"Bye." Liam says and then the line goes dead.
I can't help but feel butterflies at the thought of seeing him again. I go upstairs to change. I decide on ripped light blue skinny jeans and a grey baseball shirt with black sleeves and a grey beanie. I put on my black vans and apply a little mascara to my eyes. Then I grab my phone again and walk back downstairs. I make myself a sandwich for lunch and eat it before washing the dishes. I clean the mess in the living room and then I hear a car pull up. I walk out of the door and see Liam just stepping out of his car.
"Hello to you." I smile.
"Hello, you look beautiful, as always." He grins.
I smile broader and walk over to his car. Liam opens the door of the car for me. Before I step in I hug him, something he didn't expect. After a few seconds he wraps his arms around me too.
"You didn't see that coming, did you?" I say laughing when I pull away.
"No, I didn't." He laughs.
I step into the car and Liam closes the door behind me before stepping into the car himself. He starts it and we drive to his house.
"Liam, I have to ask you something. About us." I tell him.
He looks at me worried.
"My mom comes home tomorrow and it would be weird if you came over every day, since you're my teacher. I think it's better if she doesn't know anything." I say.
"Yeah, that's a good point. I understand. I'll miss it to drop by whenever I want." He says.
"Me too. I think I'll drop by your place much more." I say.
"Or at a cafe somewhere." He says.
"Anyway, that's what I wanted to say." I say, giving Liam a hint to drop the subject.
"About my friends, don't pay too much attention to them. They're terribly annoying sometimes and they're crazy." He says.
"I think I can handle it. I have those kind of friends too." I laugh.
We chat a little more and then we pull up to his driveway. I get out of the car and follow Liam to the front door. His house isn't too big, but not too small either. Liam unlocks his front door and walks in. I walk in behind him and he pulls off his shoes and I do the same. Suddenly we hear a loud thud, like something heavy fell. Liam groans and mumbles something.
"Your friends I suppose?" I ask.
"Yeah, like I told you, they're a little crazy and annoying." He says.
I chuckle and we both walk into the living room. There are four boys rearranging the living room. They are moving a couch at the moment.
"What the hell are you doing?" Liam asks in a stern voice.
"Just rearranging the living room for our movie night." A boy with brown hair says.
"Lilly!" Niall says when he spots me.
He runs over to me and hugs me.
"Hello, Niall. Nice to see you again too." I laugh, hugging him back.
"So, is this your future girlfriend?" The boy with the brown hair asks.
I look at Liam and he starts blushing a little. Niall has pulled away from our hug and disappeared to the kitchen.
"Haha, you're blushing! Over a girl!" The boy laughs at him.
I walk over to Liam and wrap my arms around him.
"Don't worry about it. I'd love to be your girlfriend some day." I whisper into his ear.
When I pull away from our hug I see Liam's cheeks only a deeper shade of red.
"Aren't you going to introduce us to her?" A boy with black hair asks.
"Uhh, yeah. Lilly, this are Louis, Harry and Zayn. You know Niall already. Boys, this is Lilly." He says.
I look at them. The boy who got Liam blushing is Louis. He has brown hair which is combed over his forehead. He has blue eyes. Second was Harry, a boy with long brown curly hair and green eyes. Third was Zayn. He has black hair, which is shaved at one side and quite long at the other side. Not as long as Harry's, but still long. He has brown eyes, a bit darker brown than Liam's. One by one they come over to me.
"Hi there Lilly." Louis says, hugging me.
His voice is slightly higher than a normal boy's voice and he seems to smile all the time. In every way all the time I've been here.
"Nice to finally meet you Lilly. Liam has told a lot about you." Harry says.
His voice is deep. I love it. Then Zayn walks over to me.
"Hello." He says.
He has an accent. It sounds quite sexy. I actually like it very much.
When they all hugged me Niall comes back with his arms full of snacks.
"Seriously Niall? Are you also going to do the grocery shopping?" Liam groans.
"Haha, yup, I'm very serious. And, no, I'm not going to grocery shop for you, lazy ass." He laughs.
I laugh at Liam's pouty face. Louis, Zayn and Harry are busy rearranging the living room again. There's a couch against one wall and another in the middle of the room, facing the tv. A table is shoved into a corner and there are pillows scattered all over the room. By the look of the colors from the pillows there was a woman influence in the design.
"Does anyone else live here except from you?" I ask Liam.
"Nope, the boys stay the night occasionally but no one else lives here. Why do you ask?" He replies.
"Because by the colors of the pillows I can tell that there was a woman influence in the design." I say.
"Oh, well, yeah... I had a girlfriend. We we're at the stage of living together, so we bought this house and..." Liam replies before getting interrupted by Louis.
"They bought the house and designed it together and then Liam found out she cheated on her and he was too lazy to buy new pillows." Louis finishes.
"And now she tries to get back together with him." Harry adds.
I look at Liam with a confused and worried look. Will he get back together with her? She's probably more of his age than I am.
"That's not true and you know it!" Liam fights him, looking angry.
"Haz, you know it's not true, please tell her before she walks away from Liam. Then he'll definitely hate you. You remember how long it took to get him to talk to us again after the she-devil?" Zayn says to Harry.
Harry's face is now full of regret.
"Sorry, Li. It was supposed to be a joke, I didn't mean it this way. And Lilly, don't worry about her. You're the only important girl in Liam's life right now. Well, except from his mom and sisters." Harry apologises.
Liam doesn't say anything, he just nods. I smile at Harry.
"Let's watch a movie!" Louis shouts.
"Yesss, finally I can eat food!" Harry shouts after him.
Zayn picks a movie: Bad Boys. I actually hate those kind of movies with all shooting and fighting, but this one has Will Smith in it, so I'll just watch him and adore his body.
"Lilly!" Liam nudges my side.
I snap out of my thoughts and look at him.
"You want anything to drink?" He asks.
"Yeah, a coke is fine." I reply.
Liam walks to the kitchen and I follow him, since he can't carry all the glasses alone.
"Hey, about our conversation, the thing you whispered in my ear..." Liam starts.
"The girlfriend thing?" I ask.
"Yeah, were you serious or were you just saying it to make me feel less awkward?" He asks nervously.
"I did mean it. Maybe if we go on a couple more dates..." I say, kind of indicating where he was going to.
I guess he wanted to ask me to be his girlfriend already, but I can't. Not yet. I've made that mistake before. Once there was this boy, Shaun. He wanted to go on a date with me and I said yes. We went on a date and I fell in love with him that night, or at least I thought I did. A few days later he asked me to be his girlfriend, which I said yes to. We were together a lot and after a few months he asked me if I wanted to have sex with him. Then I realised that it wasn't what I wanted. I realised that I didn't love him, I just thought I did. I broke up with him before anything could happen. It took me a lot of time to get a good bond with my friends again, since I spent so much time with Shaun that they didn't want to see me again.
Seeing Liam's disappointed face tells me that he wanted to ask it.
"Liam, please don't be disappointed about it. It's not about you, trust me. It's just that I've made a mistake before and I don't want that to happen with us. Maybe if we go on a couple more dates, I'll be your girlfriend. I just want to be sure, for myself. I don't want to hurt you." I explain.
"I understand, I think." He replies.
He pours the drinks in the glasses and picks up three of them.
"Can you take the other two?" He asks me.
I nod and walk behind him back to the living room. The movie is playing and Louis, Zayn and Harry are sitting on the couch, leaving no more space for Liam and I. Liam gives the boys their drink and gathers some pillows and a blanket. He puts the pillows in front of the couch and signals for me to sit down. I do and Liam sits down next to me. He spreads the blankets over our legs and takes his glass from me.
"Aww, look at them getting all lovey dovey!" Harry says.
"Shut up for one second, will ya? Trying to watch a movie here." Zayn says.
I look at Liam and I see he's sad from our conversation. I lean towards him.
"Please don't be sad about it. I don't want you to be sad." I whisper.
He looks at me and smiles half heartedly. He takes a sip from his drink and focuses on the movie again.
When the movie is over Louis erupts in an explosion of being sugar high. Harry suggests to do a game of 20 questions. The five of them against me. I agree.
"But I start." I tell them.
"Okay." Niall says, chewing on a piece of crisps.
"What are your jobs?" I ask them.
"Being your P.E. teacher." Liam replies with a grin.
He has loosened up a lot during the movie.
"I still study, but I want to be a teacher." Niall answers.
"I want to play professional soccer one day." Louis says.
"I want to make money with drawing." Zayn says.
"You have to show me one of your drawings one day." I tell him.
Zayn smiles and nods.
"I don't know. I also still study." Harry says.
"Cool." I say.
"Okay, our turn. Has anything happened on you and Liam's date yesterday?" Niall asks.
"Nope. Just a normal date." I reply.
"What are your hobbies?" I add.
"I think I speak for all of us when I say singing." Zayn says.
"You guys sing?" I ask in awe. I certainly didn't expect this.
"Yup, we're in a band: One Direction. We don't make a lot of money with it, but we make some." Harry says.
"Sing for me! I want to hear it!" I say, super excited.
"Sure, what song?" Liam asks.
"Wait a second, let me get my guitar." Niall says, jumping up.
"He plays guitar too?" I ask.
"Yeah, quite good actually." Louis says.
Seconds later Niall comes back into the room with a guitar in his hands.
"So, what song do you want us to sing?" Niall asks, looking at me.
"Do you know Wrapped Up by Olly Murs?" I ask them.
"Yeah." Zayn says.
Niall strums a few times on the guitar and then they all start singing the song. When they are at the chorus, Liam looks into my eyes and sings.
You got me wrapped up, around your finger. I'd do anything for your love now. And if you touch it, the feeling lingers. Takes me up so high I can't come down.
Niall strums the strings a last time and then they're finished. I applaud for them and they grin.
"You guys are amazing!" I tell them.
"Thank you. Do you want to come to our next performance?" Niall asks.
"Sure. I'll hear it when you have to perform again." I reply.
Liam smiles at me and I hug him.
"What time is it?" Zayn asks.
"6.30" Harry replies.
"I'm hungry, I'll order some pizza." Louis says.
"Do you want to stay over for dinner?" Liam asks me.
"Yeah, sure." I answer.
"Do you want a pizza too?" Louis asks me, his phone in his hand.
"Yeah, a cheese pizza with salami, please." I say.
"Okay." Louis replies.
He stands up and walks into the kitchen.
"Let's watch another movie." Harry suggest.
"How about Grease?" I ask.
"I love that movie!" Louis says.
"Sure." Niall says.
Zayn, Liam and Harry nod and I put it on on Netflix. Liam and I cuddle up again and the others squeeze onto the couch.
"When's the pizza here?" Liam asks.
"In 20 minutes." Louis replies.
Liam nods and the movie starts. I drool at John Travolta.
"Are you drooling over John Travolta while you never drool over me?" Liam whispers in my ear.
"Because John Travolta is hot." I respond.
"And I'm not?" He pouts.
"Shh. I want to watch the hotness of John." I shush him.
Liam pouts but looks at the tv again. Soon the doorbell rings and Louis jumps up.
"Finally!" He yells.
"Shh! I'm trying to watch a movie here!" Zayn shouts back at him.
Louis talks with the girl at the door for a while and comes back in with the pizza's. He hands them out and we watch the rest of the movie with pizza boxes on our laps, eating our pizza.
