The door to Robyn's room slammed open with brutal force.
"Robyn! Do you know what time it is?'', screamed Aunt Ellie, barging into Robyn's room.
Robyn layed quietly in her bed, grunted and pulled her pillow over her head.
''Calm down, my alarm didn't ring yet.'', she stated, positioning herself into a more comfortable position, ready for the extra few minutes of sleep awaiting her.
'' Ugh. Whatever, don't tell me I didn't warn you.'' , said Ellie, closing the door behind her.
Robyn was annoyed. Wanting to prove the fact that she was right, she turned to her alarm clock, slowly pulling her eyes open and stared at it, ready to scream the time to her Aunt.
Instead, she sweared and jumped out of bed with lighting fast speed.
Her alarm had 7:32 written across it in large numerals. While her usual alarm rang at 6:30, this time it hadn't rung at all. School started in less than 15 minutes and of all the classes to start off with, chemistry was her first.
Mr. Cunningham was not the most forgiving person when it came down to tardiness.
Robyn soared through her drawers in a rush. Picking herself the first jeans that were within her grasp and shoving a shirt on without even checking it, she grabbed her leather coat and books and ran out of the house.
The cold breeze passed through her hair eagerly, and amongst the hurried thoughts haunting Robyn's mind at that precise moment she couldn't help thinking of how cold the air was for the month of May. She hurried her step, her untied combat boots causing her to worry if she would fall or not, and within a few minutes arrived in the hallways of the one place she loathed. Panting, she ran up the stairs and into her class.
As she lifted her head, she noticed the class staring at her. Within instants, people were either laughing or nodding their heads, talking to their lab partners in sarcastic tones.
Bringing her head down she rushed over to her seat next to Ethan and crumpled onto the seat in an ashamed matter.
She could hear Caitlin's and Yuri's laughs echoing in back of her, Ethan was forcing himself not to laugh but it was impossible to keep inside.
Caitlin whipped away the tears that were coming down her face, she always did have a thing for crying too much while laughing.
"Mirror much?", Caitlin said while pulling out a makeup mirror from her bag and poking Robyn's back with it.
Robyn simply whined, ignoring anything her friends were telling her. She did not want to look at herself in the mirror.
She could feel Ethan's hand covering her shoulder.
" Common Robyn.", he said while stifling a soft chuckle.
She lifted up her head slowly and stared at him with a death glare.
"Give me the goddamn mirror."
She flipped the mirror open and looked at herself, quickly trying to fix the way she appeared. She easily noticed that she had worned a ridiculous top that showed a large amount of cleavage and that, for some apparent reason, a pillow mark was imprinted on the left side of her face. Her shoulder length wavy brown hair was in one of the biggest messes ever and the signs of miscoloured skin gave a hint to how late she had stayed up studying for an upcoming exam. Seeing her larger look of disasperation, Yuri leaned off her chair, attempting to somehow fix her hair from the back, while Caitlin lifted her shoulders and finally fished out a tissue.
While in the midst of almost being done, Robyn heard a chuckle echoing from the back of the room. Curious as usual, she turned and noticed Cain's body moving to the rythmic movement of laughter.
As usual, Cain Calder was wearing a black hoodie that he kept on at all time, covering his face in an obscene manner. His muscled arms were crossed and his skin showed a large amount of cuts and bruises, caused by the numerous fights he constantly got into. His fists however, weren't the least bit red. He was considered as being a mysterious guy who never talked unless asked, liking to keep things to himself in the most defiant way, but for some reason, the fights he got into were brutal. Robyn had once seen him fighting a gang while walking home and would never forget the day. The fight had ended so fast, almost voluntarily as Cain's movements got stronger and stronger each passing instant. His opponents looked strong and fierce but for some reason, fear crept into them in the most unexpected way. He had eventually turned, possibly feeling a glare burning through his back from afar, but Robyn had quickly moved her focus away, suddenly intrigued in the texture of the asphalt. She had, in that instant, not wanted to get a glance at the face that so many people were afraid of.
Ethan, noticing her absence in speech, turned to where Robyn was looking and sighed.
"I hate that guy.", he whispered, letting Robyn overhear him.
Robyn turned back facing the chalkboard in front of her.
"I don't judge you for it.", she replied as she saw Mr. Cunningham entering class, late for the first time this semester.
"Considering how late you guys always are, I will not apologize for my tardiness as I am sure you were all enjoying yourselves anyway. Now everyone, turn your page to 238. A long class is awaiting us."
Robyn sighed and with an exhausted look let her head cover her book in exasperation.
