As I walked to school I felt a chill breeze behind my back. I turned around to find my friend Ashton. I always had that chill feeling when I was around him. Like something wasn't right.
"Ashton you keep scaring me." I said as I playfully slapped his chest.
"Skye. Run!" He yelled.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Run! Now! You're not safe."
As soon as he said those words a bird with big black wings flew over us. At least I thought it was a bird. I couldn't get a look at his face because Ashton pushed me out of the way.
I headed his warning and I ran. I ran back to my house. I kept running till I tripped on a branch. As I got up there was a dark figure above me. He gave me a small smirk.
"I've been waiting for this." He grabbed me by the hair.
"Put her down!" A voice yelled.
The figure sliced my throat and all I could see was darkness.
I awoke in my English class. I didn't remember passing out here, but that has happened a lot recently.
"And that has made all the difference." My teacher finished the poem. "Now who can tell me what the point of the poem was. Skye?"
I fiddled with my pencil in my hand. I knew this poem was by Robert Frost, but I never really thought about the purpose. I skimmed the classroom to see if anyone was giving me any hints. My eyes landed on a strangers face, he had light blue dyed hair that was fading away in a quiff, he had a lot of piercings and tatoos.
"I dunno." I said as I kept staring at the boy.
There was something off about him. Not just the way he looked, but his presence. I got a turning feeling in my gut. I turned away and looked back down at my desk. I tapped the rhythm of the clock with my finger tips on the desk.
"Can you stop!" The girl in front of me snapped.
"Sorry." I mumbled as I stopped.
I couldn't pay attention to the lesson. The visions in my head kept playing over and over again. I kept turning back to the blue haired kid and I felt like I knew him from somewhere.
The bell rang, and I quickly ran out of the class. I walked silently to my friend Ashton's locker.
"Hey Skye what's up?" He asked worryingly as I got to his locker.
"I passed out last hour again..." I looked around to see if anyone was liatening. "And I had that dream again."
I've been passing out in weird places and dreaming the same thing for the past month, and I was starting to get worried.
"Do you need me to get you more of that medicine?"
I shook my head. "It doesn't even work. And thats not the craziest thing today. We got this new kid in my class he looked like I knew him from somewhere, but thats ridiculous, because he was covered in tattoos and piercings. And the only person I knew who has that is you."
Ashton bit his lip the way he does when he's thinking.
"Did you happen to catch his name?" He asked.
