'So, what is it you wanted to talk to me about?' asked Cat. I turned around so I was facing her.
'Why Natalia?' I asked.
'Why did you have to hit Natalia?'
'You know why I hit Natalia. She called Lucy a mudblood.' said Catarneigh, I could hear the frustration in her voice.
'Huhh...' I huffed. 'Why did your ice hit Natalia?'
I saw Cat glance at her bed for a few moments then back at me. 'It's a long story.'
'I've got all night.
'The magic you read in a textbook or learn about here isn't the only magic that's out there. Sometimes there's the Elements of Magic,' Cat began to explain. 'Whether it's ice, fire, wind, water, earth, plasma, wood, light or shadow-
There's only four elements. Where is she getting all this crap from?
'I thought there were only four elements.' I interrupted.
'There is, but combined with the other five makes it the Elements of Magic. Anyway, each person has an element inside them- even Muggles-'
'So, you're telling me if we think hard enough these elements will come out of us?'
This seems a little far fetched.
Cat sighed. I could tell she was starting to get agitated by all my interruptions.
'Let me finish and I'll answer any questions you have at the end. So, every person has an element inside them. The only difference is, some people's elements will be stronger than others.'
'Yeah, like mine. Now, this is normally common in wizards more than Muggles.'
'Okay, so you told me the history of the elements, you still haven't told me the reason why your 'element' hit Natalia?' I noticed the curiosity in my voice was replaced again by the cold and hard voice I'd used earlier when calling Lucy a mudblood.
I had to shut her up one way.
'No matter what your element power is, you will never be able to control it whenever you have negative feelings. You know Natalia's been going on at Lucy about being a Muggleborn and I was sick of it. I got angry- which is a negative feeling, by the way. That's why my ice hit Natalia. Besides, it could have been worse.'
'How?' the curiosity back.
'I dunno. I just know it could have been worse.'
Like she could have died, I guess.
'Well, I'm gonna go find Priscilla again,'
Why did I just tell her that?
I got off my bed and walked to the door, but before opening it, I turned my head towards Catarneigh. 'Thanks for telling me that. I just wish you'd told me that when we first met.' Then I could have been prepared. I opened the door and started to walk out of it.
'You're the first person I've told, you know. Not even Lucy knows,'
And that's supposed to make me special that I know her little secret?
I stopped anyway, and turned back around to face Cat again. 'Tell Lucy I'm sorry I called her a mudblood.' with that, I walked out of the dorm.
And I actually mean it.
