Once the train had stopped, me, Lucy, Heather and Emily made our way off the train. Heather and Emily followed the other first years and Pepper to the boats, while me and Lucy made our way to the carriages with the second years and up.
The carriages were blue with no roof. They could fit around eight people in them, they were also pulled by nothing, or that's what I thought until-
'What are they?' asked Lucy, pointing to nothing.
'What is what?' I asked, confused to what Lucy was asking about.
'The creature pulling the carriage.'
'Nothing's pulling the carriage, Luce.'
'But something is...'
'I can see it too!' said Portia.
'Can you?' asked both me and Lucy together, though Lucy said it in a more excited way than me.
I was still confused to what Lucy and Portia were going on about. As I boarded the carriage, I saw Tilly in the one in front of me. Tilly noticed me and glared at me. Lucy noticed this.
'You and Tilly still not talking?' asked Lucy, as she boarded the carriage.
'Doesn't seem like it,' I said, as the carriage began to move.
Soon, mine and Lucy's carriage was through the gates of Hogwarts. Once off the carrige, we followed everyone into the Great Hall. As Lucy and me entered the Great hall, I said-
'It feels strange being here and not waiting outside like last year,'
'Yeah,' agreed Lucy. We both made our way to our House Tables. Lucy sat on the Hufflepuff Table with her Hufflepuff friends, while I sat on the Ravenclaw Table. I caught Tilly's gaze again and she gave me another glare.
Professor Keytet came through the doors to ask Professor Dumbledore if everyone was ready for the sorting. Once he'd said they were, Keytet went back through the doors then came back in with a trail of first years behind her. I instantly recognised Heather and Emily. Soon, Keytet had started the roll call for the first years to be sorted.
Just as Heather had wanted to be she was sorted into Gryffindor much to my dismay. Also in that house were Michael and Sarah Montosso- the two first years who came into my compartment with Shaun, and a boy called Jeremy Sharkey. Emily was sorted into Hufflepuff- I didn't why from the way to spoke to Lucy on the train but then again, I was just being stereotypical against Hufflepuffs. I wasn't sure who else had been sorted as I switched off half way through. I now realised how boring it actually was to sit through an entire sorting. I remembered back to last year when I was a first year and being a nervous wreck as soon as my 'name' was called out. At lot of things had changed since that moment. The biggest change was nearly killing Bluddersmith.
Thinking about Natalia, I thought; Where is she?
I looked up and down the table and there was no sign of her.
She's probably still at St Mungos.
I was slightly happy that Bluddersmith wasn't there but dreaded when she'd be back. After the sorting was finally over, Dumbledore said a few words again about first years not being allowed into the Dark Forest and so on. Then it was time to eat.
What's so dangerous about the Dark Forest?
Dumbledore seems to go on about it every year and yet nobody has ever been curious to find out what exactly lies within it. I looked over at Lucy.
Maybe we can find out some time soon.
A grin started to spread across my face as I ate my food.
