"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" I yell at my father and he looks at me with disgust written all over his face. " Watch who you're talking to!" He stands up and points his finger in my face. " How could you kidnap a fucking girl!" I wanted to punch his teeth in, my father has done many fucked up things to my mum and I, but this is the most inhuman thing he could have done. I watched as his face turned from confused to anger.
" I knew she was gonna fuck up! She wasn't suppose to go to your room." He grabs his gun and ammo off of the counter and stomps up the stairs. I quickly run up the stairs after him and try to get to my room before he could touch her.
I continue to scan through the pages until I hear a banging noise coming from outside of the bedroom door. Before I could have time to react I see the door slam open, nearly knocking over a picture of the boy I met earlier. Pointing the gun towards me, he loads the gun. "Put down the damn book and get out of the room, or I swear I'll pull this trigger!" I feel my body tremble as I try to move but can't. " Did you not hear me! Or are you just fucking stupid! I said.." Before he could finish, the boy enters the room. " Hey! Stop fucking yelling at her!" He yells and Desmond turns his attention towards him. " Don't get in this Harry ! Or you'll be sorry" " I already am sorry, sorry that I have a piece a shit of a father like you!" He says standing up to his dad.
I am eternally grateful for Harry, If he wasn't here I would most likely be in that lake. " Look I don't want to fight you Harry, just grab the girl and bring her Into the attic. We need the money!" His father tries to reason with him. Harry stands there silently with a scowl on his face while tapping his foot. "Fine.." He mumbles before harshly pulling me towards him and walking towards a deserted hallway. He reaches up to grab a string that I assume leads to the attic. " Stand back" he orders and I do as I am told. He pulls the string down and stairs come, finally reaching the floor. "Go" he says as he try's to grab my hand but I pull away before he could touch it. He nods before we both climb the stairs to the attic.
I look around the attic and scrunch up my nose at the disgusting smell of mold. " Has anyone ever cleaned up, up here?" I ask and he slightly laughs " No one would do that job even if you payed them" I nodded before spotting a corner of the room, with a stained mattress and a pole next to it. " Don't worry it won't be that bad" he says scratching his neck, I guess he was trying to comfort me. I smile at his attempt and walk over to the mattress. " I'm scared" I finally admit and a flash of sympathy crosses his face. He goes over to the attic door and closes it shut, he makes his way over to me and gives me a hug. " I won't let him hurt you, I'm here to protect you."
I feel a sense of relief wash over me as I hug him back. "Thank you" I whisper and he releases me. " I'll come up here everyday to check up on you.. Ok?" I nod my head and he smiles before opening up the door again. " oh" he says turning around " what's your name?" "Lauren, Lauren Sanders" I say hoping he won't know my name and hurt me. " I'm Harry Styles, I wish we could have met at different circumstances..." I laugh and shake my head. " It's ok.. It wasn't your fault." He nods before heading downstairs. " Don't leave this room unless told to!" He yells before shutting the door. I am finally left alone in the rusty, old attic with my thoughts and I sigh.
Thank you Harry Styles,
Thank you for not being like your dad.
Thank you for saving me from him.
Thank you for being there when he probably would have killed me.
But most of all, thank you for being my hero.
