I was shocked to hear that Izra actually agreed to go on a date with Jackson. I can never find out why anyone would think he is handsome. He has unruly blonde hair and bright blue eyes, but pale skin that just throws off the girl’s dream blonde surfer guy. But what truly surprises me about the fact that Izra would go out with him, is the fact that he is not her type at all. She normally goes for guys with black hair and brown eyes, not annoying blondes.
“Marie, we have something you might want to know about.” I jumped slightly at hearing Star’s voice. She is usually so clumsy that I can hear her coming but not this time. I turned around in my chair to look at her, only to see a serious expression on her face.
“What is it Star?” I questioned softly. I was tired and ready to go home, but for some reason I didn’t leave even if my shift ended about an hour ago.
“Felicia found something about your victim that you might want to know about.” She responded back to me. She was hiding something from me. I can tell by how serious she is being right now. I understand if this was her first month or so here, but she’s been here for almost seven months, so she should be used to any murders by now, no matter how messed up they are.
“Okay, good thing I didn’t leave yet. I’ll be down there in a sec.” I told her. Star started to head back down to the lab as I grabbed all of my stuff and put it away. As I walked to the elevator, the only thing that I could think of is poor Izra being stuck with Jackson at a club for the night.
I started to head to the elevator when I got a call. I figured that it was Izra wanting me to save her from Jackson, so I didn’t bother looking at the caller id.
“What do ya need Iz.” I asked her.
“Who the hell is Iz? This is Anton, the person who took John Mitchi kids.” The male voice, who I know as Anton, responded. I remembered him because of how he looked oddly young to already be working as a social worker.
“Yeah, what do you need? Is there another murder at your place or something?” I asked him, my voice filled with worry.
“No, there isn’t any murder at my place,” He laughed. “but I was wondering if maybe you should question the kids about what they need and know. They could know what their dad was doing to why he was killed.” I could hear his smile in his voice. That was actually a smart idea. And he gave me a great starting point in this case, since it is usually Izra that starts us out.
“Great idea bring them over in the morning around 8:30 to 9 o’clock.” I told him, now I am excited about this. I never questioned or even talked to kids. But deep inside I knew I mostly needed to talk to Mikey to get some important information about their beloved daddy.
“You expect me to get little kids fed, dressed, and everything that early, or are you talking about meeting up in the afternoon?” Anton questioned me. I had to agree with him, like I still hate having to be here at 7:30 am, and I’m an adult.
“We can meet for breakfast. Just go to IHop and I’ll meet you there at 8:30. Can you get the kids ready by then?” I asked him praying to God that he could.
“Yeah I can. And what the hell is IHop.” He asked me. I almost had a heart attack. He has never had IHop, They have the best breakfast food.
“Just go there. It is an amazing breakfast restaurant that the kids would love.” I exclaimed to him. I was quite excited for tomorrow breakfast and to ask the little munchkins some questions about what happened. I didn’t say bye before I hang up remembering that I had to go down to Felicia and Star to see what they had discovered. So I ran to the elevator since it was about to close. Thank God that I got there before it closed and ask the other man in there to push the button that says lab on it. On the way down the only thing I think about was how I was kidnapped and everything that happened. I remember the man with black hair and cold, evil like grey eyes. He still haunts my nightmares and how I once wished that I was dead so I never have to feel the pain he gave me. Then I also remembered how once upon a time that I was so shy that I had no friends that in the end Marie showed up to make me some new friends. Then somewhere in between both of those stories I met Star because my mom making me basically. Then I met Felicia when we were assigned to work together in class and we hit it off when we discovered that we actually had a lot in common. Then I met Izra in college as we both were learning in the Criminology course. I was there for Forensic Science and she was there to be a Criminal Justice Lawyer. In the end we both took a rape and sexual side course that we had to take to get our degree but during the class we became best friends.
“You are finally here. You took forever.” Felicia complained. I chuckled a little from her over exaggeration.
“You guys over exaggerate way too much.” I told them. “Oh, and tell me what you need to.” I finished.
“Oh yeah. So, he died a fairly painful death. The coat hangers that were stabbed into him first but it didn’t kill him. The next thing was that he had a knife slit which is what killed him. He almost bled to death and then the killer must have felt pity and just killed him. Everything else that happened was done afterwards. He was also estimated that he was killed not long after the first killing Izra is currently discovering.” Felicia informed me. I just shook my head and tried my best to remember everything she just told me. Man, I wished I was working with Izra, she usually remembers everything about the stories while I, most of the time, question people and contact and all that stuff.
“Okay.” I told them. I was so ready to leave work and go home. So I said goodbye and then told them bye and started to head out.
