Soon Christmas was over and it was back to lessons. I had found out that Transfiguration and Charms were my best lessons and flying being my worst. Natalia made it her personal goal to be better at these lessons than me though, this was out of spite.
It as Thursday night and me and Tilly were sitting in the Common Room.
'I wanna go somewhere.' I suddenly said.
'What?' asked Tilly, knowing perfectly well what I just said.
'Wanna sneak around the castle with me?'
'I think I'll stay here. Besides, we're not allowed.'
'Fine,' I stood up. 'I'll go by myself.'
I saw Tilly shake her head. I smiled as I left the room.
I had no idea where I was going to go. I suppose I could go anywhere as long as I didn't run into a prefect, teacher or Filch. Filch would be the worst.
As I was walking to the main stairs, I felt myself literally fly over somebody. Turns out that somebody was Shaun- the freak was sitting on the floor.
'Bloody hell, Shaun! Why are you sitting on the floor?' I shouted- forgetting I wasn't actually supposed to be out of the Common Room for a second.
'Where are you going?' asked Shaun, ignoring my question.
'I dunno. Anywhere where a prefect, teacher or Filch won't be.'
'Well, I know somewhere none of them will be. Come on.'
I hesitantly followed Shaun down to the Third Floor, looking out for Filch and his cat- Mrs Norris as we went.
Finally, we stopped at an old classroom. Shaun opened the door and me and him stepped inside. It was a dark, danky classroom and it looked like it hadn't been used in years. And there in the corner stood a mirror. I walked over to it, guessing it was the thing Shaun wanted to show me.
'I don't think it's just any old mirror. It's weird. I looked in it before and it showed my family, all happy, you know, as families should be.' Shaun was now standing next to me.
I looked into the mirror.
'What do you see?'
'Ju- just my family. Same as you really.' I stuttered.
'Cool.' Shaun was now leaning against the wall.
I didn't really. But I'm not about to tell you that. Or anyone else for that matter.
We made our way back to the Common Room. Shaun decided to walk me back to Ravenclaw Tower. As we both made our way to the last set of stairs, we heard the sound of a cat meowing. Slowly, we both turned around and looked up to see a ragged man with long, greasy brown hair staring at us with his cat beside him.
'Good evening...' said Filch, with a massive grin on his face.
We both gulped.
