As soon as I entered the Ravenclaw Common Room I noticed that it was a wide circular room with a midnight blue carpet. It had arched windows that hung with blue and silver silks. There was a bookcase that went around the whole room and if you looked out of the window you had a full view of of the grounds.
'This is the Ravenclaw Common Room.' said Amanda, now standing in front of us. 'The dormitories are upstairs and you'll find that all your belongings have already been brought up by the house elves.'
I opened the door that said 'first years.' We all (the girls) walked into the room with me leading. It was very similar to the Common Room in colours but it didn't have the bookcase. Instead there were six beds, one for each girl. We all picked our beds. Mine was the last one, closest to the door.
'I hate the colour blue.' said Tilly. She was sitting on the bed, looking at it and trying to pick the colour off. 'Why can't it be pink?'
'How can you not like the colour blue?' I asked, amazed. I had never met anyone who didn't like the colour.
'By not liking the colour blue.' said Natalia, taking her stuff out of her trunk and throwing it onto the bed. 'Maybe you should've been put into Hufflepuff. That's where all the stupid people go, like that mudblood Finnigan.'
'What the heck is a Hufflepuff anyway?' asked another girl. She had short ginger hair and big blue eyes. Compared to spotty Natalia, she was much more prettier.
'And you are?' I asked.
I huffed. 'Maybe you two would've done better in Slytherin. Especially you, Bluddersmith.'
'Well, the sorting hat put us in Ravenclaw so it looks like you're stuck with us, Catherine.'
'Whatever. Go meow somewhere else.' Natalia then turned her back on us.
Tilly drew the first three curtains but left the one that was facing my bed.
'This is going to be the longest seven years of my life.' she said, huffing. I smiled. I then looked over at Natalia and Portia who were now climbing into their beds.
'Bluddersmith is even going to last seven years if she keeps calling Muggleborns mudbloods.'
Tilly laughed. After that, the candles blew out. I closed my eyes, happy that my new friend had the same view as me on Natalia Bluddersmith.
