I couldn't sleep that night so I walked over to the window and watched the waves roll in. The Mersey wasn't the best thing to look at and it always smelt as though someone had urinated in it but to me it was always a place of comfort. I started feeling sleepy pretty some and before I even realised I was even in my bed, I was asleep.
Soon it was morning. I woke up a 10:00 AM. The moment I realised this, I threw myself out of the bed as I was late and had to be at Lime Street train station before 11:00. I quickly got dressed and before I knew it, I was in the car.
It was ten to eleven by the time we had gotten to Lime Street. We had taken so long because of Rose and traffic. My dad grabbed a trolley and I was through the barrier between platforms three and four. And there it stood. The Hogwarts Express. The train was black and scarlet, it was also longer than any train known. There were people already on the train talking to family through the windows. As I walked past, I caught a few words a girl was saying-
'I'll be fine. I'm not going to die of Dragon Pox or anything.'
'Come on. Let's find you a seat.' said my dad, coming up behind me.
Once I had found an empty compartment, the train began to move. I watched my family until the train rounded the corner and they were lost from sight. Ten minutes later, the girl I had overheard on the platform walked in. She curly mousy brown hair and brown eyes and much darker skin then what I had.
'Hello. Can I sit here? Everywhere else in busy?'
'Sure. Come in.' I said, gesturing the seat opposite.
The girl smiled and sat down.
'My name's Tilly. Tilly Polo.'
'I'm Catarneigh Salucci.'
'Yeah. What blood status are you? Not that I'm bothered or anything.
'Halfblood. I'm glad your not a muggleborn, at least then I don't have to explain what everything in the wizarding world is.'
I laughed. 'I haven't had to do that yet.'
We went silent after that. We both didn't know what to say. Tilly stared out of the window and I did the same. An hour later- yes, for an hour we at in silence. Anyway, an hour later a woman with a trolley full of food opened the door.
'Anything off the trolley?'
Both me and Tilly looked at her.
'I can have a packet of drool balls and a licourish wand?' asked Tilly.
The trolley woman handed her the sweets she asked.
'What about you?' the trolley woman asked.
'The same, with a packet of Bertie Bott's and five chocolate frogs.'
The woman gave me the sweets and I paid for them. After she was gone, Tilly said-
'What do you want five for?'
'I don't collect the cards.'
'It's just something to do.'
We eat our sweets and then the door opened again. This time, two boys came in.
'Don't mind if we come in, do you? We got kicked out of our other compartment.' asked one boy. He had brown hair and green eyes.
'Why did you get kicked out of your compartment?' I asked.
'No reason.' said the boy. 'I'm Shaun Montosso, and that's Leo Jekk.' he pointed to a boy who also had brown hair but with blue eyes.
'I'm Catarneigh Salucci.'
'Catarneigh? As in an animal which goes 'meow'?'
I didn't know what to say. Nobody had ever taken my name that way before.
'I'm Tilly Polo.' said Tilly, breaking the silence.
'Polo? Aren't they some mad muggle sweets?' asked Shaun.
'What sort of a name's Montosso? You take away the Mon and put an E.R. instead of an O, you've got tosser.'
'Hilarious,' said Shaun, sarcastically. 'People have already said that, be original next time.
The train stopped and I realised we hadn't changed into our robes.
'Quick! We need to change.'
Shaun and Leo got out of the compartment in order to let us change and they ran off down the corridor. After we got changed, we stepped off the train and joined the other students on the platform.
