I didn't go the next school day. I came back from the hospital to help Harry get out, but I didn't go to school. My mom didn't have the energy to even argue that I had to even. I looked out and saw that the sun was shining. I looked at my phone and Eric just texted me. I didn't want to answer back. I wanted to be away from the world right now.
I looked up from my bed and just stared blankly at the ceiling. I don't know if I'm suppose to be comforting Josie or just leaving her alone, but I knew one thing I had to do.
I got out and drove to the house. I walked up and the windows, that were once always having light shining through them, are now dark. I knocked on the door and no one answered.
A hand rested on my shoulder and I turned facing Josie. I'm guessing she skipped today too.
I gave her an encouraging smile and hugged her. I didn't know what to do at the moment. "Spencer?" "Yeah?" I heard her take a shaky breath. I pulled away from the hugged and looked at her with concern. She continued, "I already tried, they won't even answer my phone calls."
I looked back at the door like Jake's mom is just going to appear and bam she'll explain everything.
I looked at Josie, but she left already. I sat down on the porch and stared down at my hands. Maybe his parents moved somewhere? I shook my head and said, "Impossible." "What is?"
I looked up and Harry was standing there. "I thought you would still be in the hospital." "They let me out early. I was showing good signs." He choked at the last sentence, but then cleared it out with a smile.
He sat down next to me and said, "I guess everyone's skipping school. I just visited Eric and passed by Josie."
I looked at him and said, "Yeah. Jake is like a brother to all of us." "How long--" "We were all in the same nursery." "Damn." I looked at him and said, "Did you and Jake ever just--" "We were close too, but not that close."
I nodded my head and then took and deep breath and looked up. "So, what exactly do you think happened to Jake's parents. They usually open for everyone." He looked back and said, "I don't know. I never actually met them until yesterday at the hospital."
I stood up and saw that this was getting pretty depressing. "You wanna go for a ride?" He shook his head.
I rolled my eyes and said, "We have to move on. I don't think Jake would want us all to just droop on his death." "I think he would. I mean he was the ideal wanna be." "No he wasn't." "Just trying to get something excited put into note."
I let a deep breath out and said, "Come on. I know a place where we can go and just relax and think." "Relax and think?" "Yeah." "Of course you do." I smiled and said, "It's one of my favorite reading spots."
He got up and went up to me saying, "I'm driving though." I smiled and put the keys in his hand. I kissed him and then ran towards the car. I looked back and saw that he was looking back at the house. I bit my lip and looked at it also.
He got into the car and opened the door for me. I got in and he drove off.
The next day, my mom made me go to school. She dragged me out of the house and pushed me into the car and threw my lunch at me. I luckily got my purse on the way out and a decent outfit on with my sister's style of makeup on me. I didn't want to go to school, but she did my makeup and everything.
I looked in the mirror and it looked ok. I took a deep breath and drove to school.
When I got there, I wasn't in any mood for wanting to see if Josie or Eric was coming today either, but I knew that Harry was. He wasn't that depressed over Jake. He didn't know him that well.
I looked at the usual meeting spot and Louis was standing there. Eleanor was no where to be seen either.
I went up to him and said, "Where's my sister?" "I broke up with her. She's not my type." "What do you mean she's not your type?" "She's not my type." I crossed my arms and said, "Well, that explains why she wasn't happy this morning. Did you know she got a modeling job with Hollister?" "Did she now?" "Yeah."
He looked pleased, but didn't say a word. "No, congrats or anything?" He shook his head and I rolled my eyes saying, "You're a jerk." He shrugged his shoulders and said, "Sorry, for you lose though. I didn't see that coming." "Harry told--" "Yeah. Is he here?" "Haven't seen him. He wasn't that close to Jake, so I don't see the big deal."
"Well, there is a big deal on why I sort of have a good explanation on why I'm breaking up with you sister." I raised an eyebrow and said, "Surprise me. I seriously don't even know why I'm talking to you." He gave me a look and said, "I'm going to try out for the X Factor up in UK." "Oh, Harry's doing that also." "Yeah, I know."
"Well, nice talking to you." I smiled and the bell rang, and still didn't even go to my locker. I ran and almost missed class. I sat in my seat and Mrs. Frost turned around and said, "Well, wasn't that a close call." She smiled at me and said, "Now."
I went to my car and saw that there were many people gathered there. I saw and there was Harry in the background. He was playing his guitar and then I saw the gender similarities. They were all female.
I looked around and there was Darcy. She was trying to shove them away. When we locked eyes she just gave me a look saying aren't you going to help?
I ran over and the guitar stopped. The girls turned and faced toward me and were in shock.
I looked around and saw that there were many people that were just drooling all around him. He got up and went up toward me and said, "It's not what it looks like." "I know." "Why weren't you here at school?" "I-I don't know."
He scratched the back of his head and said, "Well, someone dropped me off and I wanted to take you somewhere in your car to get your mind off of... you know." He looked up at me and said, "I love you."
I smiled and said, "I love you too."
He took me out of the car and said, "I want to show you something." I looked at him confused and said, "This place didn't have any significance with us." He looked at me and said, "Yeah, I know."
I looked ahead and there was a group of people around something. I looked through the crack of the bodies and there laid there was...
