I woke up early Monday morning, I leaped out of bed after looking at my alarm and I got into the shower and washed up. After my shower, I put on my Westchester Academy uniform on and I put my red hair in a French braid. I looked at my schedule for today.
* Go to School 8:15 - 2:45
* Go to Ballet class 5: 30 - 6:00
*Do Homework 6:00 - 7:30
*Eat dinner 7:30 - 8:00
*10:00 pm Bedtime
I walked downstairs and sat down in the kitchen chair and ate my bacon and pancakes. My mom went to work early like always so I didn't see her in the morning, and my dad's on a business trip so I don't see him either. I picked up my book bag and headed out the door. I walked to school unlike some people who go to my school. My school was a prestigious academy for kids who have a high I.Q. While I walk to school, I pass Helen Keller School for blind and deaf. I glanced at It as I saw kids signing. I knew some sign language because my cousin is deaf, so I know some words but not all. I walked pass the grocery store and a church, 15 streets to go to get to school on time. I checked my watch it was 7:20, I had time to get to school at 8:00.
I walked as I looked at my surroundings and I bumped into a boy with dark brunette hair which was cut short. I got up and helped him up. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" I got cut off by the boy who flapped his hand and pointed to his ear. Oh, He's deaf. 'It's alright' he signed then walked passed me. I nodded then continued to walk to school, one more block to go. I got to school at precisely 7:58. I walked into the entrance. Inside the school was a hall going from the doors of the school, then on both sides of the walls were stairs that lead to different classes and lockers. I walked going down to locker B16, my locker.
After I got out my science text book I closed my locker and I saw my best friends Rachel and Angel who are twins; conjoined twins at the hip to be exact. Rachel had dyed her hair blue and Angel kept her natural blonde hair. They've been my best friends since 8 years old.
"Hey Shi." greeted Rachel.
"Hey Rachel and Angel." I greeted back and I touched Rachel's blue hair. "Liking the blue, Rach."
"Thanks. I had to jump through hoops for my parents to agree with the dye." She said as she played with her blue curly hair. "Well I think it's unnatural. What's next a tattoo?" Angel nagged. Rachel put her hand over Angel's mouth and looked at me. "So...anyway, has your dad come back from New Jersey?"
I shook my head. "No. But I talk to him on Fridays. He won't be back before December. It's only October" I said as we walked to Science class.
I walked to the bus stop and I waited for bus 8 to come to take me to 18th in Conner street which was the same street that my ballet school is located. The bus came along fifteen minutes later and I took out my bus token and then I sat down and waited for my stop. I got up as I saw Conner street, I must've gotten up too fast because I became dizzy. I got up and walked inside the building. After I changed into my ballet uniform and I went into class, we started barre work. In the middle of center work, I started getting dizzy again. I think it's just because I'm not spotting enough. I started the pique turns again as I spot the poster of the Nutcracker as I turn. When I'm done, my dizziness gets worse. The next thing I know is that I faint and black out.
When I wake up, I'm in a hospital bed, my mother is by my side holding my hand. "Mom...What's going on? Why am I in the hospital?" I ask her.
She rubs the side of my face "You fainted in ballet class, sweetheart. You were suffering from dizziness." She replied.
I nodded and I laid down and I glanced at my mother. "What did the doctor say? What's causing my dizziness?" I asked. My mother shrugged "We'll see soon." She answered.
We waited 20 minutes, I was staring at the I.V. that was in my arm.
My mom waited for the doctor with me. The doctor walked in "Hello, Oh good your awake. We ran tests and the results came out to show that, Shiloh has stages of Meniere's disease which causes inbalance, dizziness and even deafness. Now...There aren't any cures for Meniere's disease but there can be some inner ear surgery but it'll cause permanent deafness." Said Doctor Schloo.
My mother and I frowned. "Have you had any in-balance while walking, or running?" Asked the doctor. I nodded. "About a week ago, I was walking fine and then all of a sudden, I lost my balance." I said. Doctor Schloo nodded as a nurse came in with a wheelchair and I got in it as asked to by Doctor Schloo. "We're going to take her to the hearing test room." Doctor Schloo said and the nurse took me into the hearing test room, which was on the other side of the hospital.
"Okay Shiloh, Raise your hand if you hear anything." Said the nurse after I put the headphones on. I nodded. I only raised my hand two times and it was for my right ear. The nurse wrote down the results as I sat there. When I heard the nurse tell me to take off the headphones, I did. I couldn't hear out of my left ear now. I looked at the nurse "I can't hear out of my left ear." I told her. She went to go get Doctor Schloo, and when he came in he took me to the cat-scan room and I laid on this bed and I closed my eyes as I felt it going backwards. I opened my eyes again and I was in this white thing. This light shined across the scanner and I closed my eyes again. The bed moved and I sat in the wheelchair again. I was able to leave now.
The next day, I woke up I heard my alarm but...I couldn't hear it with both ears;only one. I sighed and I took my medication that was prescribed to me. I sighed and I got into the shower and got ready for school. Luckily for today, I didn't have ballet but that didn't mean, I didn't have gym at school today. and Today is soccer game which counted for Gym.
At the Game,
I was the net blocker, My school's team the Lions faced our rivals the Wolves which was the mascot of the Blanchard Privet Schools soccer team. The scoreboard was Wolves 10 and Lions 3, we were getting creamed. caught the ball which was kicked by a wolf player, and we won one point. A half hour later, It was 12 to 10, three more and we could win today's game. I waited at the ready to catch the ball, the ball slammed right at the center of my head. I was on the ground, all I saw was shiny clear black and even worse, I couldn't hear a thing.
