"Okay." Ashton said as he finished pouring and carefully handed the cup to me. I quickly tilted my head back and started to drink as much as I could before I stopped and then carried on. "So are we getting drunk tonight?" I asked once I had finished.
"If you want." Ashton answered.
"Aw, come on!" I gave him a shove on the shoulder. "You be the boss! You decide!" I moaned. Ashton let out a grunt. "Please, Daddy?" I knew he couldn't say no now. Ashton got a sly smile on his face. He started pouring us both some more, making the answer obvious.
After like- I don't know how many cups, we were well drunk. "Ash, I think we've had enough! Dance with me?" I asked, jumping up and down.
"Just a few more!" Ashton replied. I groaned.
"I'll just dance with myself then." I sighed. I ran into the sea of bodies, stumbling a little. I felt a bit lonely and wanted to see if I could find somebody to dance with.
"Luke! Hey! Luuuke!" I called out, pushing through the crowd whilst waving my hand. My shouts caught his attention. He was standing aside from the crowd by himself.
"Umm... Nora? Are you ok?" He asked.
"Yeah, just a little drunk." I got close to him, making him seem a bit uncomfortable. I leaned to his chest, resting my head. I felt his body get tense. "Ok, Nora, you have to get off of me. Aleisha is going to be back soon." He started to try push me off gently.
"I'm pretty sure Aleisha cares."
I started tugging on his arm, trying to pull him onto the dance floor (but not succeeding). "Pleeeease?" I begged. I began kissing up his arm.
"Nora!" Luke yelled. I paused and looked up at him.
"Yes?" I asked.
"We've broken up!"
"Shut up! No we didn't." I insisted.
"You're dating Ashton!"
"What do you mean so? You're obviously coming onto me!"
"No I'm not." I giggled.
"Yeah, you a-" Luke suddenly stopped speaking and his eyes widened at something behind me.
"Get the fuck off my boyfriend!" I heard a girl's voice say. Of course I already knew it was Aleisha, but I wasn't afraid of her (mostly because I was drunk). I spun around and saw Aleisha glaring at me. "Your boyfriend?" I asked.
"Yeah! He's mine!" She snapped.
"Is your name ON him?" I raised my eyebrows.
"No, is yours?" She asked.
"Not my name, but my mouth is." I quickly grabbed Luke by the waist and forced our bodies against each other, not giving him anytime to use his reflexes. I made brief eye contact before I smashed my lips into his.
I woke up, not remembering much of what happened last night. I looked around, no idea of which room of the house I was in and how I ended up here. I was lying on the floor. I got up to get a better view of the room. There was a double bed that held Aleisha, who was asleep. Besides her, no one else was in the room.
I wandered out of the bedroom and down the hallway, trying to ignore my pounding headache. There was a door that stood at the end of the hallway, which I walked over to and carefully opened.
Soon the familiar living room from last night was uncovered. I could tell that more than half of who came last night had left because of the limited amount of sleeping people that were scattered over the room. I saw Ashton curled up on one of the three couches.
A sudden voice from behind startled me. "Nora. You've got some explaining to do." I looked behind me and saw Luke standing in the hallway. He walked over in front of me, standing in the doorway.
"What explaining?" I asked.
"Don't act like you don't know."
"Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about." I shrugged.
"You mean you don't remember making out with me and then having a cat fight with Aleisha?" He let a slight smile show on his face.
"Ohh. It's all coming back to me now. I'm so sorry. I must've had too much alcohol." I apologised.
"You think? You wrote this on my hand while I wasn't looking. I felt something and I looked over and you were running away with a pen in your hand." He lifted up his hand that read 'Nora's property!!'. I giggled, remembering my fight with Aleisha about how neither of our names were written on him. "Keeping it on my hand though!" He joked, looking at his palm that had the writing on it. I laughed. It was nice to properly speak to Luke again.
"Anything else peculiar I did last night?" I asked, quite curious but also scared that I might have done something to totally embarrass myself.
"Well, you and Aleisha did start pulling each other's hair." He said through a laugh.
"Really? We must've seemed like such little girls!"
"Yeah, except you were drunk and Aleisha didn't really have an excuse." He pointed out, causing me to laugh once again.
I suddenly came to a realisation. "Wait. I... made out with you last night..."
"Yep." Luke said.
"That's means I cheated on Ash." I could feel my facial expression was 100% blank.
"So what? You were drunk and you were just trying to prove a point."
"Doesn't matter if I was drunk." I mumbled.
"It does if you're as drunk as you were. I'm sure he won't care." Luke assured.
"So what if Ash doesn't care? I've betrayed him and it doesn't matter if he minds it or not. It's like a permanent mark. I cheated on him and I can't undo it." I explained.
"Drunk hook ups never count." Luke told me. My eyes that were fixed on the carpet, quickly flicked up onto Luke's face.
"Never?" I asked.
"Never." He repeated.
"So you're telling me that our drunk hook up when we were still together meant nothing?" I snapped.
"Uh- well." Luke looked away from me, his eyes darting from place to place.
I can't believe I hadn't just thought through what I had just said. Now I'm completely stuck in what to say. My eyes found hers and I had finally decided on an answer. "No. It didn't mean anything to me. Why, did it mean anything to you?" I asked.
"Uhmm... No... I guess." She replied.
Of course it meant something. It doesn't matter if I was drunk. You can't be mistaken when it's love.
My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps coming from behind me. A smile appeared on Luke and I turned around to see what could possibly change his mood. A wide grin somehow crept up on my face. "I knew it!" I heard Luke's voice say behind me.
"Same!" I agreed. Calum was walking down the hallway with his arm around Ari. Luke started to speak again.
"You know, we'd probably not be okay with this if our groups still hated each other. Good thing Nora and I-" He suddenly cut him self off in mid-sentence. I turned around to see Luke look off at the wall, his facial expression almost stunned.
"We know what you mean, Luke." Calum assured.
"No I mean like- um... Nora and I, well... We're all good now." Luke said unsure. I gave him a confused look.
"We are?" I asked, sort of trying to make him feel bad but also teasing him at the same time.
"Of course! In fact, wanna hang out tonight? Let's say... at 8?" Luke asked.
"S-sure." Did he just? I think he did.
"Great. Then I'll be heading home about now and I'll pick you up then." He grinned warmly towards me, making me feel a certain way.
I turned around to look at Ari as soon as Luke had left. I could tell I looked absolutely shocked. "You alright?" Ari giggled.
"No." I sighed. "I'm actually like... I'm going to cry... but I'm so happy... but I have a boyfriend." I stopped for a second and repeated myself. "I have a boyfriend." My voice went almost into a whisper, but could still be heard by Ari and Calum.
"Maybe you shouldn't go..." Calum suggested.
"Fuck that. I'm going."
"So how's it been going?" Luke asked.
"Besides me cheating on my boyfriend? Fine." I sighed.
"Hey, don't worry about it." Luke said, his eyes on the road.
"Where are we going anyway?" I questioned.
"I don't know. Wanna get ice cream?" Luke offered.
"Kks." I agreed.
"Kks?" Luke giggled slightly.
"Oh my god. It means okay. Isn't it obvious enough?" I groaned.
"It is but... you know... Kks?"
We pulled up by a ice cream place and hopped out of the car. We stepped inside and walked up to the counter, scanning the different flavours.
I pulled out my money, but my hand was then lowered by Luke. "I'm paying." He stated.
"Nah." I disagreed. Luke laughed.
"You're not paying. There's no way." He insisted.
"I know, it would just be rude if I said 'ok' straight away." I giggled. Luke smiled and turned to the lady behind the counter.
"Can I have cookies and cream, and... Nora, what would you like?" He asked.
"Boysenberry." I answered. The lady scooped our flavours and put them in cones, handing them to us straight after. Luke payed and we headed out and started to walk down a street, past some houses. "So, is your favourite boysenberry?" Luke questioned.
"Sure is." I grinned. Luke looked at me, slightly amazed. "What? It's not gross. I bet you haven't even tried it." I said.
"No, you're biting your ice cream?"
"Um, yeah." I replied.
"Lucky. I can't do that." He sighed.
"Sucks for you." I stuck out my tongue.
"Your tongue is purple." He giggled.
"Duh. I've just had boysenberry. Your tongue is white." I pointed out. Luke smiled, but it wasn't just a regular smile. I don't even know how to explain it, except for that it warmed my heart because of how much it reminded me of how it used to be.
I finished my ice cream quickly as did he. "So how's Aleisha?" I asked.
"She's fine." Luke answered. It then went very silent and I didn't have anything to talk about.
As we walked, I felt Luke's hand brush against mine. I was looking at the ground but shifted my eyes up to the sky, looking in the opposite direction of Luke. I felt his eyes on me and somehow sensed his smile.
A hand suddenly grabbed mine, intertwining our fingers. I looked at Luke and found that I was correct about him smiling.
I didn't find it necessary that any words had to be said, I just carried on letting him hold my hand as our eye contact was locked.
