Bella rushed towards her mother who was standing next to Judy and wrapped her arms tightly around her. She wasn't supposed to be back until the weekend, not that she wasn't happy to see her or anything.
"I thought you weren't coming back until Saturday?"
"I wanted to surprise you, besides I missed you."
"I missed you too. Where's dad?" she asked, suddenly aware that he wasn't around.
"He wasn't able to get away early so he's coming back tomorrow hopefully," she told her smiling slightly, she knew her mum missed him just as much as she did.
"Scott!" her mother suddenly yelped making her jump back in surprise. She turned around and saw Scott in the doorway looking just as shocked as she had been.
"Come give your Aunty a hug," she said, her arms opened for him. She could see him trying to avoid her gaze as he walked towards them and wrapped his arms around her mother.
"So, how have things been?" she asked, her gaze shifting from Scott and then to her.
Bella looked up and her eyes met Scott's, his face full of different emotions it was hard to pinpoint just one. There was a mix of anger, sadness, protectiveness and uncertainty which made depending on one very difficult.
"Good, everything's been great,"Scott smiled.
Bella glanced up at him, he had been a jerk all day and finally had the chance to rat her out and get even...so why wasn't he doing it? He suddenly looked into her eyes before they shifted back towards the ground. She knew he was uncomfortable with the situation and the fact that he didn't say anything to her mother made her realise that he still cared about her even if they were fighting.
"Dinner's almost ready," Judy chimed in, smiling at her tentatively. She smiled back and let out a breath that she hadn't realised she had been holding. "I thought we could all eat together before you leave."
"Sounds great," her mother smiled. Bella dreaded the thought of having dinner together, she knew that Judy was doing it intentionally to try and ease things between her and Scott, but she knew it would take a lot more then a family dinner for things to be resolved.
"I'll just start packing then," Bella told them as she began walking away.
"Scott, why don't you go and help her," Judy suggested.
Bella turned around quickly, "No, that's ok. I can manage."
As much as she wanted things to go back to normal she knew it wouldn't be that easy and after the day she had today, she didn't really feel like dealing with it right now. She looked at Scott out of the corner of her eye, he was staring straight at her. She could tell he was a little surprised that she turned down the offer as did the rest of them. She turned her gaze away and walked up the stairs, she could really do with Liam's arms wrapped around her right now she thought.
When she reached her room she pulled her phone out and tried calling him again, but like earlier she was having no luck.
"Home sweet home," Bella's mother smiled as she stepped inside the door with their bags, Bella trudging behind with her own in hand.
"Yeah," she smiled as well, the room looking smaller then she remembered. "It's nice to be back."
Once they had settled in, her mother made them both tea which they both drank together in the living room with the tv on low. "Is everything ok with you and Scott?"
Bella's head darted up in surprise, "What?" she asked, had Judy mentioned something to her?
"You barely said a word to each other all evening," she continued, referring to the family dinner they had that evening . It was true, in fact there was no eye contact whatsoever.
"We had a fight," Bella muttered.
"You guys never fight," she said, sounding confused and a little surprised.
"Well we are now."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Bella shot a glance in her direction before looking back at the ground. "Does it have something to do with Liam?"
"Maybe," she shrugged her shoulders before letting out a sigh. "Yes."
"I knew it!"
"You knew what?" she asked, looking at her mother.
"You and Liam honey, i've known ever since that time he picked you up to take you to that dance, i'm not blind you know," she said, the exact same words her Aunt Judy had also said. Wow, they really are related.
"Seems like everybody knew before me!" Annoyed that she couldn't spot it herself. "So, you're not mad?"
"Me and Liam," her eyes carefully darted towards her mother half expecting her to disapprove or tell her she couldn't see him anymore. But instead she just smiled. "It's not like you haven't had a boyfriend before."
"I know, I just figured...." she trailed off, her mind going back to Amy. Her mother took hold of her hand and squeezed it lovingly letting her know she understood. "It's different though," she continued. "He makes me happy."
"I know, Judy told me the nightmares seemed to have stopped."
"Yeah, I think so," she nodded.
"That's great," her mother said, wrapping her arm around her. "If he really makes you happy, then i'm ok with it. It's your father i'm worried about."
Bella thought about that for a minute and could just imagine his reaction, "Yeah."
"Maybe you should bring him over one day," her mum suggested, she tried to smile but couldn't help dreading the thought.
"How about in a few years?" she joked making her mother laugh.
"I don't know what to do about Scott?" she said, hoping her mother could give her some advice. "How do I fix it?"
"He'll come around. He's just being a guy," she assured her, not making her feel any better.
"By ignoring me?"
"He won't be able to forever. He's your cousin Bella," she reminded her as if she had forgotten or something. "Guys act like jerks sometimes when their upset, it's just their way of dealing with things. I learnt that from your father," she said, shaking her head slightly.
"Come here," she chuckled, gently pulling her down so she was laying on her shoulder. "Everything will be alright, you'll see."
"Thanks mum." She stayed like that for a few minutes and could feel the weight of the day slowly start to fade away as her eyes began to grow tired. "I'm gonna go shower and go to bed," she said, hoping she could get a hold of Liam before falling asleep.
"Ok, i'll see you in the morning," kissing the top of her head before she got up.
Bella felt so much better after talking things through with her mum. She was so happy to have her home, the only thing she wished for now was for her dad to come home as well but she knew she would see him soon. Even though her mum told her that Scott would come around it was still bothering her. Her mum was right, they never fight, not for this long anyway! She picked up her phone and dialled Liam's number for what felt like the hundredth time that day. Still no answer!
Why wasn't he picking up!? She needed to talk to him and see him, to feel his arms around her again. She got out of bed and walked over towards her window and opened it half way, just in case.
Bella didn't know how long she slept but the feeling of someone playing with her hair was what woke her up that evening. She slowly opened her eyes to find Liam sitting on the side of her bed, greeting her with that amazing smile of his. "Liam!"
She quickly sat up in bed and wrapped her arms around his neck hoping this wasn't a dream, she heard him chuckle as he hugged her back. "Did you miss me?"
"Where were you? I was so worried! I thought maybe something had happened to you!" she babbled on smacking his shoulder lightly.
"I'm sorry Bella," he said, grabbing hold of her hand. "My phone died on me while we were talking the other night. I wanted to come see you but, I didn't want to make things any worse for you," he continued.
She lowered her gaze knowing exactly what he was relating to. "I take it he's still pissed?" he asked, watching her carefully.
"He won't even talk to me," she said sadly.
"I'm sorry Bella," he whispered, taking hold of her other hand as well and planting a small loving kiss on the back of her palms. She smiled up at him and squeezed his hands lightly. "It's not your fault."
"It's not yours either," he told her. She smiled lightly but she knew he could see right through it. "How did you even know I was here?" she asked, wanting to change the subject.
"Well seeing as my phone died and the only number I could remember was Scott's, I ended up finding a payphone and called his house, Judy picked up and told me your mum came home, so I wanted to surprise you."
"You're just lucky I left the window open," she chuckled making him laugh.
"So you were expecting me to crawl through your window huh?" he teased making her blush as usual.
"What, you think you're the only one who visits me of a night time?" she teased back making him grin wickedly.
"I better be!" he growled, making her giggle. "I'm sorry I didn't show up at school, I had to take care of a few things," he told her making her worried.
"You mean at home?"
"Yeah," he nodded. " I'm looking into getting emancipated."
"Yeah, that way he's out of my life for good," he said with a small smile.
"But where are you going to live?" she asked him, she figured that he had money but enough to buy his own place? She wasn't so sure.
"Don't worry about that, I don't want you involved in this," he told her, gazing at her intently.
"But I want to help you!"
"I'll figure it out Bella, it's my problem."
"Liam, your problems are my problems, you've helped me through so much and you still are. Now I want to help you," she said firmly. "I am your girlfriend you know," she teased making him smile adoringly at her.
"Yeah, you are," he said tentatively, making her heart race. "Ok, there is something I need you to do for me," he muttered, his eyes burning into hers.
"Kiss me," he said quietly.
She flashed him a smile, finding his request rather adorable. "I can do that."
She gently brought his head down to her level so she could kiss his perfect lips. He immediately returned the kiss and wrapped his arms around her securely, almost like she would break if he was to let go. Being in his arms was one of the best feelings. Why couldn't Scott accept that they belonged together! She didn't want to hide how she felt about him from anyone anymore!
"Liam," she whispered against his lips. "What are we going to do about Scott?"
"I wish I knew Princess, I wish I could make this all go away but, I think we just need to give him some time."
"That's what everyone keeps telling me," she sighed. He looked at her curiously before asking,
"Oh yeah, apparently my mum and Aunt Judy already knew," she informed him making him smile.
"Really?" Looking awfully pleased about it. She knew he didn't want to hide their relationship from anyone either.
"Yeah, there's just my dad left to tell."
"Your dad huh?" he tensed slightly. "Do you think I could take him?" he joked making her chuckle.
"Sorry but, my dad's a superhero," she played along making him laugh, the sound was like music to her ears, as corny as that sounded.
"Hmm, I guess i'll just have to be on my best behaviour then," he smiled softly.
"I guess you will," she nodded, smiling back.
He was silent for a while before he turned to look at her again, "Do you think he'll like me?"
She noticed how serious he looked when he asked her that, he probably thought her dad would disapprove of him seeing as his dad treated him like crap every day. How could someone be so intentionally hurtful?
"I think that once he sees how happy you make me, he'll love you," she told him honestly, knowing her dad would be a bit wary at first considering everything.
"Are you, happy?" he asked, stroking her arm lightly.
"Yes, I have my days but, having you there makes everything else almost numb," she admitted, his eyes gleaming with happiness. "I just wish things with Scott were better. I hate fighting with him."
"I know," he sighed, kissing her forehead sweetly.
"I don't know how i'm going to fix things? I don't want to stop seeing you," she muttered sadly, just going a day without him was agony enough for her.
He took her face in his hands and stared at her intently, "That's not going to happen!"
"But - "
"I'm not leaving you Bella, not unless you want me to," he said, caressing both of her cheeks lovingly.
She never wanted him to leave, she didn't even want to imagine it," I don't!"
"Then I guess you're stuck with me," he grinned, hooking a piece of hair behind her ear before kissing her again.
"Can you stay here tonight?" she asked, missing his warm presence next to her of a night time. She had gotten so used to it that it felt strange whenever he wasn't sleeping beside her anymore.
"I was hoping you'd ask," he muttered, kissing her tenderly again before slipping his shoes off and taking his leather jacket off to reveal his strong muscled arms.
She couldn't help it, but something came over her, this sudden desire that she had never experienced before. She slowly crept up on her knees and let one hand gently rest on his shoulder while letting the other one slowly slide down his arm and along his chest, the whole side of his body pressed into her. She could tell that he was a little surprised at her sudden braveness, but was nonetheless enjoying it.
Bella continued to journey her hand further up until she was caressing his cheek just like he had done with her while raking her other hand through his hair. She felt his hand swiftly brush the back of her leg, slowly gliding it further up her inner thigh making her whole body shiver. He suddenly lifted her up onto his lap, wrapping both of her legs around him. She let her hands wander down his chest this time and slowly slid his t-shirt up and over his head.
She continued to let her hands wander while planting small kisses down his neck. He moaned in pleasure and tightened his hold on her, gliding his hands down her back until he reached her butt. She moaned against his skin as he lightly cupped her from behind, grinding both of their bodies together. He lifted her body up and carefully laid her on her bed so that he was now on top. He slowly slipped his tongue in her mouth, teasing her and pulling away every now and then.
Getting impatient, she wrapped her body around him and kissed him with everything she had. She let out a small moan at the intensity and could feel him smiling against her lips. He moved his hands down her waist and pulled her top off, leaving her in just a short vest and shorts. His hands began to roam her body, his skin so warm against her own. She slipped her hands through his messy hair as he began to kiss down her body, taking his time with every spot he caressed, nibbling and sucking in certain places.
"Liam!" she muttered breathlessly, feeling herself becoming more aroused with every kiss.
"Do you want me to stop?" he whispered against her skin before crawling back up to her level.
"No, but we should," she said, his eyes once again watching her intently. "My mum could hear us."
"Yeah, we should stop," he agreed, also a little breathless.
"Yeah," she nodded, their eyes connecting again before their lips collided together once more.
This time it was more intense, she knew this couldn't happen now, but neither one of them could find the will power to stop! She tried to keep down a moan as he massaged her breasts, gently squeezing them. It's like her hands had a mind of her own as she reached down to Liam's jeans. She thought he would stop her like he had done before, but instead he just continued to kiss her, his breathing just as fast as hers.
She lightly tugged at his jeans, her hands a little shaky as she undid his belt but was having no luck. He chuckled against her lips as his hands immediately replaced hers as he unhooked his belt and began undoing his trousers. She suddenly felt the nerves flutter around inside her as he removed his jeans. His body was incredible! He hovered above her for a moment, his eyes looking deep into hers.
She could feel herself blushing like crazy as he undid the small bow on her shorts before slowly pulling them down. He tossed them on the floor along with their other things and placed himself on top of her.
"Are you ok? Too fast?" he asked softly, the back of his hand grazing against the side of her cheek.
She smiled up at him, his eyes watching her with concern, god she loved him so much! "No," she breathed out and lifted her head up to kiss him again.
The intensity of the kiss was overwhelming her, her body becoming hotter and her breathing growing more rapid. She had to stop this before it went to far, if only it didn't feel so good! His hands began sliding the material of her vest down her shoulder where he planted a kiss, trying to drag the material even lower. She let out a moan that was too loud and suddenly remembered that she hadn't locked her door.
"Wait!" she panicked, she couldn't do this. What if her mother was to come in? "Liam!"
He stopped his kissing and looked down into her eyes. He rested his head against hers and lightly sighed, "I know, i'm sorry."
He shifted above her and then rolled off of her. "Are you mad?" she asked cautiously, watching him as he had his eyes closed.
He opened them and looked straight at her, "No, of course not. I just need a minute," he muttered, giving her a knowing smile. Her cheeks burned up when she realised what he meant, making him chuckle at her.
"I do want to," she reassured him, hoping he didn't think she was a tease or anything.
"Hey, it's ok," he said, laying on his side with his arm around her waist bringing her closer towards him. "I'm not exactly going to take your virginity with your mum right down the hall."
"And if she wasn't?" her breath caught at the realisation of what she had just asked. He gazed into her eyes so deeply she almost forgot to breathe.
"If she wasn't, i'd already be having my way with you," he muttered quietly, lowering his head to kiss her softly as he let his hand slowly linger down her stomach towards her bellybutton. He pulled away and smiled at her before lightly kissing the tip of her nose. "You really are beautiful Bella."
She smiled at him lovingly and hugged up to his chest, inhaling that amazing scent of his. She felt him shift as he wrapped her blanket around them both.
Liam awoke the next morning from the sun streaming directly across his face. He was much too comfortable to move though. It had been a few days since he had actually slept in a bed. The back seat of his car didn't turn out to be as comfortable as he thought it would be. Not that Bella had to know that, he knew if she found out that she would immediately feel guilty about it. She could really surprise him sometimes with how generous and caring she could be.
It wasn't fair how Scott was treating her, but he didn't want to think about that right now. The pillows were soft, the blankets were warm and the girl that he was in love with was currently asleep with her head on his chest and her legs wrapped around his. He opened his eyes to look down at her and smiled. She was beautiful.
It was about two in the morning when they had finally fallen asleep. They had said their good nights several times last night but would end up in a lip locking session just seconds after. He couldn't keep his hands off of her! They did nothing but kiss with the occasional exploration of her body that she would allow his to roam. It took everything in him not to cross that line and take her there, but it wouldn't have been right. Her mum was right down the hall, plus with the way Scott was being with her it would just give him another reason to yell at her. Not that they would tell him, but he knew she would feel guilty about it. Bella has told him a number of times that's she was ok, but she was more upset then she was letting on, he could tell.
He felt her shift beside him again before her eyes slowly started to flicker open.
She gazed up into his eyes and smiled shyly, a small blush creeping onto her cheeks. "Morning, have you been awake long?"
"Not too long."
"I'm still so tired!" she moaned as she cuddled up to his side.
"Not surprised after last night," he teased, making her blush furiously this time as she hid her face against his chest. He laughed at her embarrassment, "You're too cute." He gently lifted her face up with his hand and kissed her.
"Are you coming to school today?" she asked.
"Do you want me to?"
"Of course I do," she frowned. "Why wouldn't I?"
"I don't wanna cause anymore problems."
"I don't want you skipping school because of me. I like you there," she smiled.
"How about I drive you to school then?" he grinned, wondering how she would feel about that, but seeing the smile on her face drop he guessed not so well. "Or not?"
"No, I mean yes..." she thought for a moment. "That would be great."
"Yeah, no more hiding. Except, maybe you should pick me up from outside my front door rather than..." Hinting towards how her mother would disapprove.
"Right," he chuckled. "I guess we better get up then."
"Right," she smiled sweetly. This was a big step for her.
He smiled back and kissed her lightly before getting out of bed and putting his clothes on that were scattered around the room. Liam turned to Bella and found her sitting up in bed, wrapped up in her covers with her hair all ruffled which in his opinion just made her look even more wanting. He sat beside her on the bed, gently taking hold of her hand before planting a small kiss on the back of it. She simply smiled that amazing smile at him like she knew exactly what was on his mind.
He leaned forwards and kissed her slowly, loving the feel of her soft lips on his. "I'm gonna fix this Bella, I promise. He'll come around in the end, you'll see," he reassured her, wishing he already knew a way.
"I miss him Liam," she said quietly.
"I know, we'll find a way," he told her. The smile she gave him at that moment was more then enough to tell him that they could.
Bella tapped her pen against her open book as she stared into space, not listening to a word Mr Collins was saying. English was one of her favourite classes and Mr Collins was her favourite teacher and yet she hadn't paid attention to a word he had said. Her mind was elsewhere.
When class was finally over, she startled back to reality. Had the time gone that fast! She hadn't taken a single note! She didn't even know what the lesson had been about! She sighed in frustration as she gathered her books up, she would just have to ask Sam or Santi if she could borrow their notes. They were the two most reliable in his class, they practically hang onto every word that comes out of his mouth, which she found highly amusing.
"Hey, you ok?" Santi asked, now standing beside her.
"Yeah, i'm fine. Do you think I could borrow your notes though?"
"Sure. Something on your mind?" Santi grinned suspiciously, standing next to Sam. "Or should I say someone?" she teased making Bella blush.
It seemed like Liam was always on her mind, she just couldn't stop thinking about him! He haunted her every thought, leaving her with that slightly exciting feeling and after last night she felt even more drawn to him. That was the closest they had ever gone with each other and there wasn't a single thing she regretted about it. It was Liam after all, how could she!?
"Aw she's blushing!" Sam joined in.
"Sam!" she scolded, trying not to smile herself but failing miserably.
"It's good to see you smiling," Santi said to her genuinely.
"I'm not complaining," she beamed at them both.
"Hi Chase!" Sam suddenly announced. Bella froze as she turned around and spotted Chase standing behind her. They hadn't spoken since that last incident with Scott, nor forgetting what almost happened before that either. She didn't know what to say to him? He wanted to kiss her!
"Bella can we-"
"I have to go," she blurted out and quickly walked away leaving both Sam and Santi with confused looks on their faces.
She knew he probably just wanted to apologise but she didn't want to deal with it right now.He tried to kiss her for crying out loud! Knowing full well she was with Liam by the way! She was allowed to be a little upset....which frankly she wasn't. How could she be? Yes he wanted to but when she told him to stop he did, he could have been like Dean and forced her but he didn't. She was just confused, the whole situation was more then awkward.
As she walked along the corridor she came to a stop and felt herself freeze once more. "Scott..." He looked at her and for a second she thought she saw a small smile when he suddenly turned his back to her and walked away....
Bella was sitting in the lunch hall, watching the rain fall from the sky while she waited for Liam. They had planned to have lunch together alone for the first time in front of everybody. They had decided instead of just making out for everybody to see and realise, they would take it slow. Baby steps they decided. She told Sam and Santi about it and they were more then willing to give them their alone time, of course that didn't stop them from sitting a few tables away with the perfect view of their table....
"Hey," Liam smiled as he sat in front of her. "Did you order everything?" Highly amused with the food she had laid out in front of them.
"Oh well I wasn't sure what you wanted so..." she blushed a little embarrassed.
"That's cute," he grinned making her roll her eyes in amusement. "Think i'll start with the pizza."
"Me too." He had barely been there for five minutes without everybody in the lunch hall already taking turns to stare and whisper. But she didn't care, they could talk all they wanted it wasn't going to change anything.
"How's your day been so far?"
"Boring," she told him, not wanting to bother him with the truth. "Until now anyway." His smile and gaze he had on her made her want to kiss him so bad.
"Likewise," he winked.
Bella quickly shifted her gaze towards Sam and Santi and found them both watching intensely like a movie at the cinema. Liam followed her gaze before they both burst with laughter making both girls frown in confusion which only made them laugh even harder. They sat and laughed and chatted together for a little bit longer as they ate their lunch. Bella was beyond happy and there was her thinking this was going to be a nightmare! She was wrong.
"Hi Liam," Jennifer suddenly popped out of nowhere, her flirty game face on. Ok, she took it back. Nightmare!
She looked up at Jennifer and sighed in annoyance. She couldn't understand this girl! Jennifer was one of those girls that looked like she had just walked out of a Victoria's Secret catalogue. She could have any guy and she knew it. So why couldn't she go crawl over somebody else?! Why couldn't she leave Liam alone! Well for obvious reason she knew why but still, how desperate could she be!
"P**s off Jennifer!" Liam barked, not even looking up at her.
Bella looked at him in surprise, "Liam."
"I just wanted to talk," she said, a little taken back.
"Why, so you can make up yet another story for everyone to believe! It's never gonna happen so don't bother wasting your time!"
"Don't act like you didn't enjoy it," she giggled, grazing her fingers along his shoulder.
Bella wanted to scream at her and pull all of her hair out, but Liam pulled away from her violently as he stood up and faced her. Everybody had stopped eating and were now staring at the scene in front of them, even Scott and Chase were watching, god help us she prayed.
"Don't touch me, because I certainly won't be touching you," Liam growled angrily.
"This is all because of her isn't it!" He moved closer and slowly said, "Go away!"
She sighed, obviously annoyed. "God, what the hell could you possible like about her? She's nothing but a little whore!"
She could see the change in Liam's eyes as he stared down at her, Bella had seen that look before. She knew he would never hurt a girl but she could see everybody else probably thought otherwise. She stood alongside him and pulled at his arm.
"Just leave it Liam."
"Aww, isn't that sweet," she teased, rolling her eyes.
"What is wrong with you!?" Bella snapped." Haven't you slept with enough guys to last you a lifetime already!"
"What did you say to me?" she growled through her teeth.
"I'm just saying, it's not my fault that Liam's the only one left in this school that doesn't want you back!"
"You bitch!" she screeched and lunged herself towards her. Liam quickly grabbed her and tossed her away.
"Don't even think about it Jennifer! You leave her alone and don't even bother looking at me again because I won't be wasting my time to even so much as glance at you!"
Without another word Liam turned around and kissed her. She heard whispers and gasps and even some cheers including clapping. But she didn't care about anybody else, all she cared about was Liam. Without even noticing, Jennifer huffed loudly and stomped away like a little girl with a temper.
"What happened to the baby steps?" she smiled against his lips.
"Screw it!" he replied and kissed her again.

"Why would I help you Jennifer?"
"Oh please. It's not like you and Liam are on speaking terms at the moment, or even Bella for that matter," she smiled, making Scott want to tear her a new one. "We both know where it's leading and we both know how it's gonna end. So what do you say, you help me get Liam and i'll help you gain back your precious little cousin."
"And how are you gonna do that?"
"Well, she's going to need a shoulder to cry on once her heart is broken, thank god she'll have you there to help her through it."
