Chapter 27: Airport Greetings
Now when my alarm usually goes off I end up swearing a lot, roll over, switch it off and then go back to sleep until David literally pulls me out of bed. But now, after only getting about three hours worth of napping time after an eight hour flight; instead of complaining I smiled into my pillow and was up and pulling on my jeans within a couple seconds. Brody's been staying in Kendall and Katy's trailer since they got here and he said that tonight he'll let Kendall and I stay here by ourselves.
I'm thankful for that, I wasn't thankful when he winked at me and implied a subject that sure isn't PG. Probably within five minutes I managed to get into some black skinny jeans, a white tee shirt, a black varsity jacket with leather sleeves and some black 'Air Jordans'. I shoved a black beanie on and then made sure my phone was in my hand before jogging down the trailer steps and then pretty much sprinting towards David who's stood by the car.
"Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go!" I chanted jumping from one foot to the other until David chuckled and shook his head. He didn't say anything, I think he's pretty excited to see Kendall too but I can tell you right now I'm more excited than anyone on set.
I slid into the back seat (David's up front with the driver) and - knowing that if I don't time will just drag on - I unlocked my phone and played some games while the car slicked down the streets. The car ride's twenty minutes at the most but traffic from tourists made it forty. I was either tapping my fingers against my jean covered knee or against the edge of my phone. When we finally got the to the too-big airport I was the first out of the car, David following after me as the chauffeur drove the car a bit further where he could park.
"Bloody paps." David muttered as I took a hold of his arm and started dragging him inside. "Zack calm down." He laughed. "We've still got ten minutes."
"But the plane can land early!" I whined, having to lean forward and push my weight forward when David dug his heels into the ground. Right, I'm not doing this to Kendall again; no wonder she's always complaining about it.
Somehow I managed to get David in the waiting area where he forced me into a seat. I didn't mean to but my foot ended up tapping my foot against the floor impatiently. In the space of ten minutes I had managed to make David move across the room, three planes had landed and I had stood up and lent against the wall instead of sitting down. I could feel people looking on me and if it weren't for the intercom I would have whirled round to see what they wanted.
"Flight 36095 from Hawaii is now landing." The intercom said loud and clear making me perk up immediately and for David to grin down into his phone. "Flight 36095 from Hawaii is now landing."
I know Kendall's taken a semi-private flight; meaning only people who are pretty much loaded can get on and from a Twitter picture posted by Bethany there's only ten people on there. It seemed to take ages for people to walk through a bloody gate. How long does it take?
I puffed out my cheek with my lips pursed when I saw a group of girls maybe thirteen years old rush forward to the gate. They were holding pens and pads meaning they were obviously talking to Kendall but all I could see was her white back pack hanging from her shoulder.
A girl moved and my breath caught in my throat, the air left my cheeks and lungs and I was momentary in a daze. The videos and pictures of Kendall that I've seen for the past three weeks have given me chills but the feeling of seeing her in person again is completely different. She's gotten a dark tan that makes her hair lighter and smile brighter as she laughed and nodded at a girl. Her green eyes shone and her dimples on her cheeks seem to be bigger.
She's wearing light blue denim shorts, she's tucked a navy tee shirt into them and the dog tag I gave her is gleaming on top. Her hair's in a usual ponytail, sunglasses hanging off her pocket and a bracelet on her wrist beside a watch. On her feet are white converse; and I'm so glad to say that she's mine.
She turned her head slightly and my eye got hers. I smiled widely and winked at her, a blush creeping up on her cheeks making me smile wider. For two years I've been winking at her and although it has always made her blush I've never thought I would be able to do it to her as my girlfriend.
She turned back quickly to the girls said something and as I kicked back from the wall she was running towards me. I reached over for her and grabbed her waist, her body crashing against mine as I wrapped my arms tightly round her waist; hers round my neck and both our heads buried into the other's shoulder. Feeling the slight dampness of the exposed skin on my neck made me let a few tears fall as well against her tee shirt but I simply pushed my head back, cupped her neck and kiss her forehead while squeezing my eyes shut.
"I hope you know I'm never letting you leave again." I whispered, her laugh a mix of happiness and a slight sob.
Her arms tightened round my neck as she moved her head and looked me in the eye. "Thank god." She whispered and I grinned whilst cupping her cheek. I slowly placed my lips against hers and a burst of fireworks just exploded. It was short, I made sure of that since we're in an airport, but it was enough for me to know that she really is here and it's not a dream.
"I missed you so much." She whispered pulling away. I wiped a tear from her face with my thumb and smiled down at her.
"I missed you too babe." She smiled as I kissed her forehead again. "But you're here now, so I'm okay."
Her arms slid round my waist, underneath my jacket and gripped the back of my tee shirt in her fists as I held her close to me, rocking sideways a bit until David cleared his throat. I swore at him in my mind but let Kendall pull away with a smile and hug him too.
"Ready to go see the others then?" David asked as I wrapped an arm round Kendall's shoulder, her arms went back under my jacket and round my waist as we started walking.
"Mhm." Kendall mumbled, her cheek pressed against my shoulder. I squeezed her towards me a bit further when we got outside and then once we were back in the car and she had put her head against my shoulder; I put mine on top of hers and sighed while closing my eyes.
The places where Kendall touched burned, my hand seemed to be in flames as she caged my fingers between hers but I held back onto her tightly and like my life depended on it.
"You know we still have enough time to ditch them and run." Kendall stated as the car drove away and David looked her like she was mental.
"For the last time, we are not going to leave the other three no matter how many times you tell me we can."
Kendall playfully groaned but it didn't last long before she was grinning and pressed up against Jackson who's only wearing basketball shorts and Supras.
"Hey Jackson." Kendall laughed, hugging him back.
"You're are never ever never ever ever ever leaving again!" He said loudly pulling away and holding onto her shoulders. "Ever."
I lent against the car, watching in amusement as all Kendall could do was look at me for help. I smirked at her and shrugged, earning a glare in return. Suddenly she's nearly on the floor and I'm right next to her with my hand on her back to steady here... then again Brody seems pretty capable of doing that.
"What the hell is wrong with you!?" He burst out, darting backwards and scolding Kendall. "I did not give you permission to leave!"
"What was she supposed to do?" Katy raised an eyebrow. "Give you a permission slip to sign?"
"Oh that's a good idea." Brody muttered turning to Jackson who was nodding.
"You gave them bloody ideas!" Kendall indicated to the boys by throwing her hand up towards them. She tried a stern face but ended up nearly in tears with laughter, hugging Katy tightly.
"Boy have I missed you guys." She laughed.
"We missed you too." The three chorused before all talking at the same time about some random crap, leading the way into the set grounds. I slid my hand back into Kendall's and lead her away from the three hyperactive teens and towards my trailer where once the door was shut I wrapped Kendall back up in another hug.
We rocked back and forth as her forehead rested against my chest. "You okay baby?" I asked kissing the top of her head.
She nodded, lent back and shook some hair from her face, giving me that famous Hollywood smile of hers. "Yeah, I just feel gross. I need a shower desperately."
I grinned at her, pecked her lips quickly and then made my way over to my drawers. I threw her a tee shirt I know is far too big for her and a pair of boxers. "There's a towel in there already." I turned to see her studying me carefully.
"Are you okay Zack?" She asked chucking the clothes onto my bunk and walking over to me.
Kendall raised an eyebrow at me and I sighed. I put two fingers under her chin, swiped my thumb across her jawline and pulled her in for a slow, long kiss. I coughed a little when I rested my forehead against hers, our lips parted but her breath fanning my face.
"I'll be okay when you cuddle with me." I answered. "I've really missed that."
Kendall smiled widely, a genuine smile that I fell for over two years ago. "Five minutes." She pecked my lips. "I promise."
A/N: Sorry this is a pretty crap chapter but I went to publish it and it just deleted it so I had to quickly re do it while my parents thought I was revising. I promise that now it's the weekend I will make up for it with a whole bunch of chapters. Love you guys so much!
