Their parents stood, calmly, and they waited for the group to see them. Brittany held Chance's hand tighter. She saw Michelle...
Chance saw Michelle and his eyes burned with hatred. He thought that Michelle was in prison. He thought she'd never find Brittany. He could never forgive her for what she did to Brittany for years and years on end. Michelle stood calmly, and she looked at Brittany apologetically. Chance didn't want Michelle to touch her ever again, but he couldn't hold Brittany back if she wanted to see her again.
Brittany was scared. Michelle was in New York, she was in her safe haven. This couldn't be happening.
Michelle looked at her again, and she walked over. But, Chance wasn't going to let this happen so easily. Michelle shouldn't be here, this was risking Brittany's safety, and it wasn't worth it. Michelle walked over and saw Chance.
"I'm not here to take you or her. I want you both to know, that I am sorry. I just needed to see her. It's been too long since I've seen my angel." she said soundng sincere. Chance wasn't so sure if it was believable yet. Not after what had happened before. This was suspicious to him.
Brittany looked kind of nervous. She held Chance's hand tighter, and she stared in his eyes. He looked at her, and he tried to assure her everything was going to be okay, but he didn't know that it was going to be okay. Brittany was really nervous.
Brittany couldn't find the right words to say. It had been too long since she thought she knew Michelle, but now, things were different. She was sixteen now, and Michelle was here, invading the one place she was safe. This didn't make any sense. Why would Michelle come and seek her out after three years. She was supposed to be in prison, anyway. How did she find her and how did she get out so soon?
The principal started the assembly, as Chance tried to pry Brittany away to sit down. They sat together and Michelle just stood there. Michelle in New York was just trouble waiting to happen. But, they had to hope that this would all be under control. None of them could stand anymore abuse from her. She had already ruined enough.
"Everyone, you all know Brittany, Chance, Gabe and Madison as their own group here. What you don't know is that they moved here, alone. They left their families, and their past lives, and they have been raising themselves for the past three years. But, now, their parents are here to see them. Can we give their parents a big round of applause?" the principal said to the school. Chance was having mixed emotions about this whole thing. Michelle here, their parents here, what was really going on?
He was about to find out. He looked up, and saw his parents. They were looking at him, like they wanted him to come home. But, they should have already known that he can't. He had a new family, and a new life here in New York. He couldn't leave. He couldn't leave Brittany. But, he did want to see his parents.
The group walked up to their parents, but Chance and Brittany were hesitant. Chance's parents hurried to them, and embraced Chance. They didn't know who Brittany was anymore, they had forgotten her...
"Chance. I can't believe we found you, it's been three years. You're 16..." his mom said, almost crying. She let go, and asked who the girl beside him was, looking at Brittany. Chance looked like he was ready to deck someone, and cry at the same time. They didn't remember Brittany? This was seriously screwed up. He wasn't sure of this at all...
