1. Prologue

It's been exactly five years and a day since the majority of the world died. For some unknown reason, a tectonic plate cracked, making the majority of this little pocket of luck that we live in uninhabitable. Only a few hundred thousand people survived. We now live in compounds across the only part of the planet that is survivable.
