"Well we are all set. All we need to do is get most of Sinidel's army at the world center. And it only took us one afternoon." Dessum excellently said as Crimzen sunk back under the covers. "What's wrong Crimz?"
"Everything I'm bedridden and Doc said that more and more people are coming in out of the woodwork. So he's busy as heck and that won't be close to what will happen during or after." Crimzen rambled as Doc snuck in the room.
"So how many are in the resistance?"Dessum asked.
"Like Gem?" Crimzen asked even though she knew the answer for being in the resistance for five years. Doc just lifted an eyebrow in question and Crimzen just shrugged.
"Exactly like Gem. By the way, I heard she sacrificed herself and they are giving her the guardian ribbon. Is that true because she was one of my first people I treated. The army wouldn't help her when she got in a firefight with us. So in her gratitude she became one of our spies and the rest joined her." Doc explained as he started helping Crimzen to her feet. Crimzen nodded as an answer but she wasn't expecting the next question that Dessum had for Doc.
"So, why did you join, Doc?" Dessum asked wondering. Doc stopped in his tracks. He looked like Dessum opened up a door to a distant land that he visited long ago. He just stared off into the distance. "Because this is all I wanted to do by choice. It was easy for me and it destroyed me. I had a wife, a job and when I saw people in the streets that were dying because they'd rather die and be buried in their own backyards than have the government tax their family to the streets. So I started this and people followed me. Soon I got three assistants and a partner. The resistance started stealing supplies so I could keep it going on very little payments that everyone could afford on some things but most is free care. But then my wife found out about the whole thing of me leaving my old practice for this and I had to choose this or her. So she left me and I had been here ever since and now that I look back, I wouldn't have it any other way." Doc said as he got back to what he was doing. They were quiet for a while.
Dessum was stunned at the story she just heard. It was really different then Crimzen's and her own story. How similar but so different the tales were. The stories were yelling out the same chant to end it now or there would be bloodshed, even more than before.
Even the piece of paper was showing her the hero earlier, reminding her of an old comic she had once read. But he was fiction in the old Washington D.C. And now in Siniville D.M.. The only way Sinidel could and will is with the light that the dark brings and the dark was not only Darkness but herself and everyone that will be coming to fight against Sinidel.
But Dessum had doubts about some things, like if anyone would come. Sure the resistance was huge and growing every minute but they had barely enough weapons for Dessum's mission. They were good at reusing what they got but that's not enough. They need more people than anything.
"Hey Doc, will Crimz be ready for tomorrow? We are definitely going to need our best fighter." Dessum asked.
"I don't know. Maybe just a person that will help me in here but that that will be it. “He said looking away.
"Crimz! I heard a small checkpoint just got detected. We are going to have to do the final strike soon or there won't be much left!" Ally yelled as she ran into Crimzen's room. Dessum hadn't seen her friend since they escaped that prison. Dessum almost didn't recognize her. Ally's hair was even around her ears, her new clothes made her look like a true worrier.
Crimzen just put up a hand to silence her. "We are going to win. You will know why soon, you are doing your part well Ally." Crimzen said.
But it concerned Ally and Dessum to be like this. "They were bait. And there is one more group that will be too." She explained.
"But how are they bait?" Ally asked.
"We need to get soldier there as we can take them all at once, right? So we set up three fake camps that were close together and connected to each other. They were empty and old so all that the bunkers would do is boost their ego and there is no one inside." Crimzen proudly explained.
"Oh." Both chirped together.
"Anyway, I should be getting ready for war." Crimzen grunted as she got off the mattress she was lying on.
"Oh no you are.." Dessum stopped talking. "Why stop a person with so much drive and she is making miraculous progress." she said and Crimzen just grinned. As Ally walked to the doorway,
"Anyway we should get back to the main bunker can you stand the walk Crimz?" Ally asked looking back.
"You know me; I am always ready for a challenge." She proudly exclaimed.
The sun was shining brightly as Dessum lifted the medicine wall that had the shelves on the other side. After Crimzen and Ally went through Dessum lowered it and they made the long track back to the main bunker. It was silent for a while when Dessum started wondering how Ally was doing in the resistance.
"Hey, Ally what is your role in the resistance?" Dessum asked trying to catch up with lost time.
"Climber, spy, and caregiver for the younger ones." Ally chimed "I am mainly climber though." She laughed and Dessum was impressed. She already has her own squad and everything. "I have a very nice group, they love what they do and it is odd that most of them are my own run mates." She said as she looked up. A group of people were flying overhead going from building to building. She waved at them as both groups moved on. "We've done several search missions lately. But that was mainly it." She explained. "I feel proud doing this but my family disowned me after they found out that I got arrested so now this is all I know but I learned something." Ally said as both girls looked at her in wonder. "My parents were partly loyalists." She breathed.
"Ally I didn't know." Dessum gasped.
"It's ok, I am not too shaken up about it. I will show them that they made a good choice." Ally laughed.
"Anyway tomorrow is a big day. And I hope we all will come home, all that actually have family left because I know that we won't be returning to ours. And let us learn what the presidents and Sinidel taught us." Crimzen said as they passed the second to last block to the main bunker.
"And what would that be?" Ally asked.
"Don't make promises that we can't keep." Crimzen chimed.
"So true." Ally agreed.
Dessum was lost in thought. She wondered if everyone already knew about the family secret and that they would ask her all sorts of annoying questions. The only people that should know are the council, Ally and Crimz.
Crimzen was excited to head back to the bunker since she was injured, but Dessum thought that she should've stayed with Doc but that would only give her more cabin fever. And that would lead to more issues.
As they came to the main bunker. Ally and Crimzen were still in full conversation when Dessum knocked on the door and said the secret message. Leroy was behind the door this time. "Come in we were expecting y.." He started then he spotted Crimzen who was already in a clean, black shirt that hid her wounds well.
"Yes I'm back. roll your mouth in Leroy." Crimzen teased as she walked past him. "The plan set or are we going to wing it?" she asked.
"Um, the groups are set but we are going to wing the plan." He rambled remembering what she was asking about.
"That will be the best. common Dessum we need to see the count.." Crimzen said as a little child came and hugged her legs.
"Auntie Crimz." He called as he started to drag her with group of kids and Ally was right behind her. The group of kids surrounded Ally and Crimzen with questions. Dessum felt good seeing so many kids that will learn real things and will survive to tell their kids the truth Instead of teaching them lies. The children yelled and were in complete glee but was quickly tried to desperate understanding. They awed when Ally and Crimzen said they had to leave. Dessum was already in the hallway with Leroy as the two caught up with them.
They went into the council room two more chairs sat next to Izzy which meant Ally and Dessum were both in the resistance council. Crimzen calmly eased herself into a chair in her usual spot.
"Now since everyone's here, tomorrow is the big day! We take down the government." Dessum started then Ally took over.
"I heard that they are going to have a world conference in Sinidel's palace. I say we take them down then. Thanks to my link inside, um Essence. I even have a time two o'clock."
"Isn't Essence a secretary of Sinidel?" Izzy asked.
"She is one of us, I hope." Taylor said as he finished writing down something. Crimzen flicked him on the back of his head and he flinched and then gave her a mean glare.
"Anyway," Leon started. "We should let the rest know what they are getting into."
The next thing Dessum knows she is standing in front of everyone that was there in the bunker.
"Tomorrow is the day we've been waiting for. The day we get our freedom. But how when our main fighter won't get the ok? And the dark is nowhere to be seen? Well Darkness is out there, I have seen him, I have talked to him, my father is the dark I am the daughter of The Darkness and the dark shall cast it's shadow one more time for light. For us his people, but, he can't do it alone. He needs us as much as we need him. And the government is down for the count the army is out of control! And this is our time our city! No more broken promises! Now go home and tell your families that you will not be coming home if this fails but it is for our freedom. Sinidel had devastated us since the day he came into office. Darkness will be there to forever correct his mistake and be with us to see the end, of Sinidel and reveal the light that comes with the true Darkness! Now who is with me?!?" Dessum chanted as a shout of proud voices raged out from the crowd showing the final battle had begun.
