79. 56 - Extract from the Notebook of Bex Shadownight
This is ridiculous.
I knew it. I knew it. I knew it.
I knew it was so much better to be a rowdy, disobedient kid than a nice, quiet one. The rowdy ones would never surprise you.
She just took off. While we were sleeping. Ran out a bloody window and I have no idea where she's gone to hide. I do know she's heading to Temple Mount, though. I don't care what Aunt Midnight says, I'm bringing that girl home. I don't trust those relic-collecting weirdos, I have a bad feeling about it entirely and for some reason Aldrin's voice is stuck in my head, itching my every nerve to go and find Annabeth.
I still can't believe that Uncle Thomas is dead... I've never considered what that would be like, seeing that guy die. I can't even picture it. I mean... He could be annoying and he generally yelled at me a lot, but he was the one that would laugh the most too. He's only been gone a few days and already, that laughter seems to have gone with him.
I hope Midnight finds Kenobi.
The bastard used my sister and murdered my uncle.
The youngest member of our family has no father thanks to him.
I'm sending Vera home. She travels a lot, so I know she can manage it alone. But me? I'm going to Temple Mount, finding Annabeth and dragging her back to Shadownight Manor if it's the last thing I do.
