73. 50.ii - Kennedy's Conclusion
Original sin - to succumb to a desire.
It doomed Adam and Eve - and, by extension, us - to this tumultuous world. We must see the world and all its possessions as they are, and not how we want to perceive them. We must recognise that all that glisters is not gold and even if it was - it does not give us leave to chase after it.
We have been granted our own process of thought for a reason, and if we cannot use it to overcome even overwhelming desire - then what use is it really?
These are some of the biggest reasons for downfall in human history. They have drowned more men than any ocean in water and any leader in blood.
All actions have consequences - and, in terms of justice, emotion is often irrelevant.
