Black Bess is probably a name you've heard.
Of course you could be referring to the horse of an infamous English highwayman, Dick Turpin (and that fact is disputable, or so Midnight tells me) but this is a reference to a very different Black Bess.
Black Bess Rogue.
Her story is a long chronicle, and many of the narrations get often get it right. She made her name in history, Bess was notorious and known - unlike Ruben, Maryanne and Robyn before her, of whom there are doubts and obscurities.
If you don't know this story already, I'll tell it here for you. And in my own way, not with Midnight's notes. Where's the fun in that? That woman makes everything educational and boring, God. At least if I sang it, you'd've remembered most of the story.
