6. Chapter 5

Chapter 5:

I woke up to the sounds of birds, I found my phone on the nightstand, my eyes flew up, it was almost 10, we had to be at the AA meeting in 15 minutes. I stormed into Luke’s room, and shook his body, “Luke, wake up” I said, “why” he whined, I opened his curtains, the light hit him right in the eyes “because we’re late” I said and pulled his duvet off him, “can’t we just stay home, you promised” he asked groaning, I smiled, I had totally forgotten about our deal “I’m your sober companion, what kind of person would I be if I just let you stay home?” Luke laughed “a good one” I laughed, it was not until then I realized that he was only wearing boxers, I could feel my face getting red, but I tried to ignore it  “fine, I’ll keep my promise, let’s procrastinate” I said faking an annoyed tone.

“Oh come on” he said wrapping his hand around my wrist and pulled me down on his bed, so I was lying next to him. I decided to let him stay home, he deserved a reward for what he did.

We looked at each other for a while in silence, Luke had really nice eyes. “So, do we just lay here all day?” I asked, “Yeah” he said not even blinking, I shrugged “so should we watch a movie or something” I asked and sat up, Luke nodded “sure”.

It took some time to settle on a movie, because we both had very different taste, but we finally decided to watch ‘The Hunger Games’, on our way down to the television, I went outside to check for mail.

“Here you go” I said, handing him the stack of letters and magazines, “you’re subscribed to Girlfriend magazine?” I asked surprised handing it to him.

Luke shrugged, “yeah there’s sometimes something about 5 Second of summer” I sat down next to him.

“Oh my god” Luke was looking at one of the first pages of ‘Girlfriend Magazine’, “what?” I asked curiously, he showed me the frontpage, it was him and me holding hands, from the day before ‘who is Luke’s new “friend”?’ was written in big letters, “wow, they’re quick” I stated, not really knowing what else to say, Luke nodded “you have no idea” he turned to the next page which also were about us, “Luke Hemmings from 5 Seconds of summer was seen with a hot brunette holding hands, who is this secret girl?” Luke read from the headline, “that’s pretty awesome” Luke looked at me in shock, “you think?”

“Yeah, I’m your secret girlfriend, I’ve always wanted to be a secret girlfriend” Luke laughed “seriously?” I nodded, but then I remembered Gabe, “excuse me, I have to make a phone call” I went into the living room and dialed Gabe’s number.

“Hello?” Gabe murmured, it sounded like I had woken him, “hey babe, if you see a picture of me and Luke Hemmings holding hands just ignore it, okay?” I said quickly, Gabe didn’t say anything for a couple of minutes, “okay” he then just said, “okay?” I asked confused, I could hear he sat up, “I trust you Charli, and I know you would never cheat on me, especially not with a stoner” I smiled, I wanted to be with him so bad right in that moment. “Okay” I whispered, and hung up after saying goodbye

Luke was looking through the rest of the mail when I got back, I found the movie on Netflix, “you ready?”

“Yeah” Luke said, and pressed play.

After we had watched The hunger games, we watched The Fault in our stars, in which I think Luke cried, but I wasn’t sure because he was looking away, the movie was really sad, and I admit that I had tears in my eyes, but Luke didn’t see them, that would be unprofessional.

After the fault in our stars was over we just started talking, it started about cancer and then somehow moved over to how he met his band members, and how they became a band. I talked about my life, which was really boring compared to his, but he didn’t think so, which I thought was quite nice. I hadn’t expected this about Luke, to be honest I had expected that he was way worse than what I had experienced before.

Then we talked about how his grandma made him these special cookies when it was winter, and how he’s sad about her not being able to bake them this year, or celebrate Christmas with her, but he looks forward to having Christmas with his parent, and that his relationship with them was okay now, I really enjoyed talking to Luke about these stuff, it was one of the longest and best conversations I’ve ever had. I had really made him open up to me, and I had to admit that I was behaving a little unprofessional, I don’t usually talk about my private life with the clients.

“Wanna watch another movie?”he asked after we had run out of topics “can’t we eat something first? We haven’t eaten all day” Luke stood up and found a pack of popcorn, and a pack of BBQ crisps inside a cupboard, “here you go” he said and tossed me the bags, “not what I had in mind, but okay” I said opening one of the bags, and started eating “I’ll find two bowls” Luke stated, and went into the kitchen, I shrugged not minding what we ate the crisps out of.

“What should we watch now?” I yelled, I could hear Luke clattering in the kitchen, after a few seconds Luke came back with two bowls, “I don’t know, what do you feel like watching?” I shrugged.

“You can just pick something, I don’t care” I said shoving some popcorns in my mouth, “okay, what about ‘The Anchorman’?” Luke found a blanket in a drawer, and sat down next to me with the blanket lying over his feet “fine, I haven’t watched it anyway” he looked at me dumbstruck “really?” I nodded, and stuck my feet under the blanket, feeling his hot skin touch my cold feet, “it’s my favorite movie of all time” he said and stood up and found it on netflix.

I shrugged “I don’t really like Will Ferrell” I said, Luke came back and pressed play, “you’re about to change your mind”

The anchorman was actually really funny, I enjoyed it a lot, Luke was actually right.

“This has been a nice day” I stated, it was about 10 pm, and ‘The Anchorman’ had just ended, Luke nodded agreeingly, “yeah, I bet you don’t regret staying home” we were awfully a lot closer than when we started watching the movie.

I looked him in the eye, I could tell that he was about to say something, but he decided not to. “Well, good night” I said, and stood up stretching my whole body, he mumbled a good night back, and I went upstairs.
