"Open the door!" Maddie said through the door. She quickly pulled up her underwear and pants and washed her hands.
"Give me one good reason."
"Because you're my best friend! I don't want you living like this anymore."
"Living like what?"
"Smoking marijuana! I don't like you smoking it."
"Why? This is a beautiful herb and it's the closet thing we have to curing cancer. If you tried it once maybe you'd see."
"Fine, then I guess I'm not opening the door!" She sat on the cold marble counter and grinned to herself.
"I'll do it." Maddie said.
"Cross your heart?"
"Yes." She opened the door and brought Maddie inside. She handed Maddie the joint and she took it.
"Well what are you waiting for Maddie?" Maddie slowly lifted the rolled up smashed pieces of herb to her mouth. Just when she was about to do what she supposedly agreed to do, she cried out that she couldn't.
"Because you're weak and afraid." She said.
"You know I'm sick and tired of trying to help you as a friend. You're seriously throwing your life away bit by bit! What are you gonna do next Miss I'm Always Right? Become a prostitute? Have an unwanted baby?" Maddie scoffed. She stood there waiting for an answer, but Maddie got nothing but tears.
"I'm sorry Sa-"
"Shut up and don't you DARE say my real name. My name is Jennifer. You know that!" She said. Maddie was trembling.
"What are you shaking for? You're not the one that just got questioned if you were going to lead a downhill life from your so called, best friend." Maddie didn't know what to say so she stayed quiet.
"Any last words you'd like to say to me? Because I'm going to leave and I never want to see you again."
"I'm sorry." Maddie said.
"Bull shit." With that said, Jennifer walked out of the bathroom and headed for home.
