We walked in to find nothing but darkness, and the damp smell like in a cellar. Kye wasn't phased at all. I always wondered how he did that, but I never found out.
We walked further into the darkness, and we found weapons on a table. Instincts told us to take them at first sight, so that's what we did. It was different to hold something so deadly, and heavy. It was like holding a gun, it was cool, but you felt scared inside. I hate that feeling to my core. It sucks.
We had our knives, and we walked until we saw a faint glimmer of light. But, I didn't think it was a way out, this was too easy. Ash thought the same thing. This was way too easy to be a test. This wasn't right.
Kye kept walking, but Ash and I spoke up.
"Wait. This is too easy. If it's a 'final test', then why are they making escape so easy for us?" Ash said. Kye stopped, and Jaylynn looked a little nervous, but she didn't want to show it much.
All of a sudden gun shots went off in the distance. Instincts tell me to duck, but I do not always trust my instincts. I ran towards it. It was crazy, but that's what I did. Everyone else followed me. This was my first mistake.
We ran towards it to find a young girl pointing a gun at Jaylynn. She had tears streaming down her face, and she had her finger on the trigger.
"Jaylynn. I trusted you. You lied, and it cost me my family. Now, it'll cost you more than a bullet in your arm. This is the end." the girl said to Jaylynn.
Jaylynn knew what the girl meant, but we didn't. I stood in front of Jaylynn, and so did Kye, and Ash. The girl shuddered.
"I don't want to hurt you guys, but if it means I get to kill Jaylynn in the end, that's what I'll do. She ruined my future, I didn't even get to take the final test. They marked me as an outcast, and left me to die. Because of her." the girl said crying. She screamed and she pulled the trigger.
A bullet hit my arm, but it didn't go in deep. Just cut open my skin, and made me bleed a little. I showed no sign of pain. Kye lunged towards the girl before she could aim and fire again. He shoved her against the ground while Ash took her gun. Kye wanted to offer her mercy, but couldn't. He looked away as he ended her life.
