"Are you ready for your interview?" Dermot asks.

"Better than I'll ever be" I tell him.

"Okay so what's your name miss?"

"I'm Amanda Hattle."

"Well welcome to X factor Amanda, you look lovely if I say so myself. But if you don't me asking, a dress and a pair of converse? Interesting clothing choice"

"Well nobody's said I couldn't?" I tell Dermot with a smile.

"You go girl. Now I think the judges are ready for you Amanda." He points his arm out to the stage. My dad standing behind the camera mouths the words "good luck" as I walk on the stage.

The lights were blinding, the stage was huge, and there were so many people. As I walk on and head to the 'X' that's in the middle of the stage the judges are talking to each other. Not even noticing I was on the stage.

After a second Mel spoke up, "hello there lovebug. What's your name and where are you from?"

"My names Amanda Hattle and I'm from Holmes Chapel."

"So tell me Amanda, why are you here today?" Louis asks.

"I feel like this is the opportunity that I've been needing for a while now so I'm taking a risk."

"If you don't mind me asking, you said you were from Holmes chapel?" Simon intervened, "but you don't sound like it. There a reason for that?"

"I actually moved here only a few months ago from the U.S." I explain to Simon and he nods alright.

"So what are you going to sing for us today Amanda?" Louis asks.

"Im going to sing 'In case' by Demi Lovato" I say while Simon giggles in his chair.

"Okay interesting choice. Stage is all yours" Louis says then leans back into his chair.

All four judges eyes are looked on me. Time to go I think. I look over at Dermot to cue the music:

Pictures in my pocket

Are faded from the washer

I can barely just make out your face

Food you saved for later

in my refrigerator

It's been too long since later never came

I know

One day eventually

Yeah I know

One day I'll have to let it all go

But I kept it just in case

Yeah, I keep it just in case

In case

You don't find what you're looking for

In case

You're missing what you had before

In case

You changed your mind, I'll be waiting here

In case

You just want to come home

By now a lot of the crowd was standing and Mel was joining them. Simon was still sitting in the same position as before like he wasn't sure what to make of this, and Cheryl and Louis sat there smiling and keeping there eyes on me.

Strong enough to leave you

But weak enough to need you

Cared enough to let you walk away

I took that dirty jacket

From the trash right where you left it

Cause I couldn't stand to see it do to waste

I know

One day eventually

Yeah, I know

One day I'll have to let it all go

But I keep it just in case

Yeah, I keep it just in case

In case

You don't find what you're looking for

In case

You're missing what you had before

In case

You changed your mind, I'll be waiting here

In case

You just want to come home

In case

You're looking in that mirror one day

And miss my arms

How they wrapped around your waist

I say that you can love me again

Even if it isn't the case

Ohh

You don't find what you're looking for

Ohh

Your missing my love

You don't find what you're looking for

In case

You're missing what you had before

In case

You changed your mind, I'll be waiting here

In case

You just want to come home

In case

Yeah

By the end of the song everyone was standing including 3/4 judges. Everyone but Simon who was sitting down clapping. I looked over at my dad on the side of the stage and he was crying and hugging Dermot. I turned my attention back to the judges and Mel B began to talk.

"Wow, that was amazing. Where have you been?!"

Next was Cheryl, "I'm kind of blown away, you're pretty, you have a nice personality, and you can sing. You're kind of the entire package."

Then Louis, "That was easily the best performance all day, in my own opinion."

Finally it came to Simon. He still sat there looking confused about what he should think of what he just saw. "In all honesty when you came on stage and I noticed you were wearing 'converse with my dress' I was kind of disliking you already. Then when you said you were going to sing one of Demi's songs I was done. But I have to admit that you did it all really well kid. Much better than I would have ever expected."

As soon as he said that I nearly broke down in tears.

"Oh don't cry child," Cheryl said, "who do you have with you today? Can they come out?" My dad ran out onto the stage and hugged me.

"You did amazing Amanda" he whispers only for me to hear.

"Did you know your daughter could sing like that?" Mel asks, and my dad shakes his head no. "How couldn't he, do you not just sing all the time with a voice like that love?"

I laughed and wiped a tear that was coming down my face, "I actually started singing only a few months ago. Music was the only thing that supported me through the rough times in the last few months."

"What do you mean rough times?" Simon asked.

"My mother and brother were in a serious car accident in February and didn't make it." I explain to him. On the sides the producers are telling us to hurry up.

"I think it's time to vote now guys." Louis says, "I'll start it off with a big yes."

"Yes" Cheryl says

"Heck yes" Mel says

"I guess you have four yes's Amanda" Simon ends with.

That's all I clearly remembered besides for a lot of cheering and my dad giving me a hug tackle thing.
