"Good morning Amanda" Miss Levi says as I enter her room before school starts.
"Good morning. I talked to my dad last night."
"He said he was okay with it. But when would we do everything?"
"Well we can start today after school. Two hours a day Monday thru Thursday's. Deal?"
"Sounds good then Mrs. Levi. See you in class" I couldn't believe this was actually happen I thought as I walked through the unfamiliar hallways to first class.
"Okay everyone, so even though it's only day two I want to test you all on what you already know. It's only going to be a small assessment but should take majority of you the entire time." She says as she passed out a few papers. "Go ahead and begin once you receive the assessment."
Looking over the test it was really easy. I finished within ten minutes and had the rest of the class to myself. So I slipped in my headphones and listened to music.
"Miss Hattle, no electronic devices are allowed during a testing period." The teacher says while walking back over to me with my graded assessment.
"Oh I'm sorry" I apologize and she hands me my paper.
"This pretty impressive. You got everything correct on this and it only took you ten minutes to complete. Looking over your fellow classmates assessments as they turn them in, some are going to need help. Would you be willing to help if asked?" She asked.
I tell her yes and she walks back to the front of the room. A few minutes later the bell rings and we are released to our next class.
Once I enter my next class I sit down in the same seat as yesterday and pull out my phone.
Hey I haven't heard from you lately. You like ing it out there? -Lindsey
Yeah I'm fine. School started so im busy, call later tonight? -Mandy
I put my phone back in my pocket and the bell rings for class to begin.
The rest of the day went by pretty fast. We did a free write all English and in Chemistry we started confusing stuff. After school with Miss Levi we talked most of the time. She asked me about who I am, where I'm from, and why I live here now. I explained to her about my mother and brother. She said we could use that as an advantage when it came to auditions.
Everyday for the next month was about the same besides for the week of the audition. That's when it began to feel real. Miss Levi took me out the day before to buy an audition outfit and then my dad met up with us for dinner.
"Hey Mandy darling" he says walking in to the restaurant and kisses my forehead then taking a seat next to me "how was your guys adventure?"
"It was good, we found a really cute dress for me to wear, and you'd approve" I tell him giving Miss Levi a smile.
"Your daughter is very special, Brian." Miss Levi tells him while taking a sip of her water. "She is easily the most talented student I've ever taught. Not only can she sing but she can play multiple instruments. It's very impressive."
From there we ordered our meals, me getting a cheeseburger with fries, my dad getting a grilled chicken breast, and miss Levi getting a garden salad. We talked about the plans for the following day. I was skipping school and taking the earliest train ride to London with my dad. Then we have to wait for my turn.
After dinner we parted our separate ways. It took us about twenty minutes to walk home.
"So are nervous for tomorrow? It'll be the first time I hear you sing and it'll be in front of so many people." My dad asks
"Yeah but I'm not going to be thinking about that. I just want to do the best that I can." I tell him. "I'm doing this for mom and James."
"You're a good girl Amanda. You remember that and don't ever change" he grins while pulling me in for a hug.
