I silently waived to Thread and she looked very happy that she found me. She had her long hair wrapped around her shoulders as normal as her green eyes lit up while she smiled at me.
“Glad to see you to Zava.” She chimed as she grabbed the card from the peacekeeper’s pocket. “Aren’t you happy that I kept your thieving route?” Thread chimed as she tossed the card to me which I caught easily in my fingers. I watched her a bit as she climbed over the stone to the tram station steps thinking that I am very glad that I had an eagle eyed friend that secretly has wings. “What is it Zava? Why are you so quiet?” She asked not knowing what happened to me so I pushed her to the side and signaled her to come up the steps with me. We quickly checked my aria as I used the key to get inside and let Thread inside with me before I put the key back into a pocket that I had found in the uniform that would be perfect to keep it until I need to destroy this card.
I removed my helmet and Thread was shocked. A breath of air rushed out of her as I showed my genetic alterations on becoming and Avox. I could see the tears about to stream down her face and I placed a hand on her telling her that she shouldn’t cry for me. I glared into her soft soul and I can see that she was happy to see me and that she never knew that I had become an Avox.
“Zava I never knew! But why are you here?” She asked and I paused for a minute trying to think that I had to think of a way to talk to her without the sounds of a pencil causing suspicion. A light bulb went off inside my mind and I started to point at myself and it seemed that Thread started to get that I was signaling her a message.
“Ok… My?” she questioned and I shook my head yes and then I pulled my hair quickly and she took a little longer to understand this one than the last. “Hair?” she guessed and I shook my head no and then moved to inside of my mouth to show that I had no tongue and she seemed to quickly get this one right.
“Avox.” She chimed and I wasn’t expecting that answer so I accepted it so I pointed upward to a letter C.
“Avox owner? What about this person?” She questioned and I was caught in a pickle now since I wasn’t sure how to signal the word save with my hands to where Thread would get it then I must get on the Tram as I can start hearing it come to the station.
I presented my hands in a way that I was hoping that she would trigger what I wanted. “Ok? Give?’ She questioned and I pointed at myself to where that was simple and then I showed her a peace of my new wardrobe by removing the jacket part of my uniform and she was shocked.
“She let you break out of uniform!” She gasped and I wrote on my hand. “And write? She must really like you!” She yelled and I placed a hand over her mouth to keep her quiet and I nodded my head quickly.
“No wonder you want to save her.” Thread chimed a bit quieter this time and I withed that the tram would come quickly soon. However, it was taking its sweet time. “Although you need to work on one thing if you are going to be a thief you are going have to do one thing.” Thread was teasing me but I didn’t understand her at first that she pulled a bit of my hair and I knew what she was talking about.
“You left a peace of your hair out of the helm to where it was easy to see that you were not a peacekeeper. You better be glad that they only saw you as a play toy instead of a theater.” Thread teased and I thought that I was safe with my disguise but I guess that I was not that grate when it came to putting up my hair in my helmet. I smiled wide widely thinking that I might as well enjoy the little fun that we are sharing with each other.
Unfortunately I hear the whistle of the Tram that was about to pick up the shipment that I have as Thread started to make her escape. I grabbed her by the shoulder as I placed my helmet on and tried my best to stuff my hair inside the pockets. I gave her a quick thumbs up and thumb down as a question as I slowly spun around for her to see if I missed any strands of hair that would give my identity away.
“You look fine Zava except I see one that you missed in the very back so let me get that.” She laughed as I let her fix my helm before we finally hugged for a bit. The silver tram slowly stopped behind us signaling that there was absolutely no time to waste time anymore.
“I guess we better get going Zava, good luck.” She chimed as she started to move to where she had an easy escape hatch as I watched her assentation into the roof and into the old district of eight.
I turned to where the doors opened its arms to tell me to come into it and keep this mission alive. It felt good to see Thread again and a reminder that I still have the old me that still has the training from a long time ago.
I can hear the doors close behind me as it moved along to its destination. I wanted to see my district for the final time in my lifespan because I am not sure that I am going back. I rushed through the cars opening and closing doors in the proses until I am at the last one to where I ripped the door open to a cool aired breeze. The starry night was wonderful as a very dim flame was disappearing in the distance while I was thinking that eight is safe since Thread is becoming a replacement for me.
